Honestly I appreciate an objective review from someone who didn't love the racquet than a gushing review from someone who only ever plays with yonex 100's or something. Thanks for this review!
I just bought the Yonex Percept 100 after demoing the Head Extreme MP, Speed MP, Boom MP, Yonex Ezone 100, Vcore 100, and Wilson Blade 98. Personally, I found that the Percept was the best racquet of all. I could not pick between the Speed MP and the Percept 100 but ended up going with the Percept 100 because it seemed more arm friendly than the Speed MP. I would say the Speed MP is the most similar to the Percept 100, but does feel heavier on the swing. The Percept 100 provided a lot of comfort, but this didn't compromise the amount of power generated - you get this feeling that even if you rip a forehand through the ball with the percept, you can be sure it'll land in the court. I had a hard time with controlling my shots with the Ezone 100. I was hitting a lot more forehands that were going long and it was hard not to overhit compared with the Percept 100. I think the Ezone would be a great weapon once I got used to hitting forehands with it. I'd say that it takes less power and strength to generate a powerful shot with the Ezone 100, but at the same time, I didn't really have too much control over my shots.
@@agradina Changing your strings and stretching + icing can prevent elbow problems, the Percept isn't the most arm friendly, but it's not that stiff either. Usually arm problems are also the result of technique issues.

Great review as always Luca. With that fishing rod in the background and probably a boat of some sort, you'll finally have the opportunity to tan your entire forehead😉 I'm looking forward to your review of the Yonex 100D.
Hey Luca, great video :) I am an intermediate player, having used a Pro Staff 97 LS v11 since I’ve started playing tennis 7 years ago. I love playing with this racket on good days, as it feels so clean and precise when I hit the sweet spot (somewhat like a laser), rewarding the power I invest in. However, being a 97 sq inch racket, the sweet spot feels very small and is quite unforgiving, hence any contact outside the sweet spot feels jarring and weak. Would this Percept 100 or 100D be something I'm looking for? I have been recommended the Yonex Percept and Babolat Pure Strike. I understand these are control rackets, but what are the main differences between these 2 that would choose one over the other? Are there other alternatives I can demo that can replicate the feel of my Pro Staff, while being more forgiving? I would also like to know, if this “feel” will only be achieved is partly due to the smaller sweet spot of a 97 sq inch racket, and would not be possible as long if I use rackets that are larger? I have always had the impression that there is no perfect racket, and a racket with a larger sweet spot will provide more consistent shots but sacrifice precision and feel. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi luka , one of you bigest fan here. Between the percept 100d and strike 100 16x20 wich one would you prefer for that agressive baseliner intermidiate advance university player that wants stability plow and low lunch angle.
Had the ISO 300. Bit of context: wanted to move away from my Babolat PDrive, strong candidate were ISO 300 and blade 100. Verdict : blade 100 super addictive but not geared for top spin. ISO 300 good performer overall ( slice, super spin friendly, directional control) nothing addictive in feel though. Bought it and sold it shorty after, mainly because I needed the forgiveness of a 100 ( grip shape IS weird too ) Last thought on the ISO 300 : it sits in a weird category between advanced 98 and easy power tweener, as it's super open 16x19 makes it quite launchy and at the same time not super forgiving since it's a 98. If you're advanced enough to play with a heavier 98, try the ISO 305, far better than the 300 !
Hi, nice review👍 Now already ~8month playing with Gravity MP Aux (300g unstrung) with Lynx Tour at 23/22kg all good, like it a lot, but always want to try something new🙈😁 Can I have better spin&power with Percept100 with same control as Gravity MP has?
I used the vcore pro 100 pro for two years and felt like the percept 100 was just a stiffened up version of it, extremely similar. 100D is more stable, controled and lower launch angle, I made the switch for it
I use the speed mp and listening to the review I was all the time thinking “this seems like a good competitor for the speed”.. Was funny seeing you mention that in the end.. I will probably test this one and the gravity tour once i want to change a bit.. would love to hear your thoughts on this comparison
I 100% agree with you that Percept 100 is pretty close to Speed MP in many aspects. The key differences I observed between the two are - 1. Percept is easier to use on backhands due to its larger sweet spot near the hoop. 2. Speed MP creates more shape and spin on forehands with nice clearance over the net compared to Percept.
I prefer the Percept over the VCore Pro 100 and the latest version of the VCore. Crisp, easy spin and easy swinging, I found super enjoyable to play with. With the great feel, control was precise. I highly recommend. Added benefit is that the racquet is made in Japan with great quality control. All competitors equivalent racquets made in China with inferior QC.
I’ve made an unlikely switch from Ezone 300 to VCP 300 and after an adjustment period my game has improved tremendously. The only negative is the pop on serves in comparison to Ezone 300 - would the new Percept 300 help me with that?
