As someone who identifies as pan, I get *really* annoyed when people say that liking trans people makes you pan. Because it doesn’t. Liking people regardless of sex or gender is what it means to be pan. If you say that you must be pan to like trans people is horribly invalidating to both trans *and* pan people, because you’re not only being transphobic, but also using the wrong definition for pan people.
I'm a lesbian and a lady is a lady and all ladies are beautiful. I hate when there's those anti-trans redditt posts or ads that are like "would YOU date a trans person" And I was like "yeah, why not?"
I know in my heart of hearts that i am pan, and it does have to do with liking trans people, but what really solidified it for me was realizing that i think the gender binary is just silly. Like, identifying as a man or woman is fine, perfectly good, cool.... but like sexuality i don't believe it should be the default. You shouldn't be labeled as strictly man or woman until you make a transition into something else, everyone is a beautiful non-binary butterfly with genitals picked out of a hat at birth.
Obviously it can be disrespectful, and I'm not going to disagree with that because it's true.. Some of the time it's misinformation. I am straight cis and tbh I haven't gotten my head around the differences between pan, bi and poly YET. No videos or articles I've seen have explained it in a way that makes sense to me.
@@elsiewilson1689 i think its a bigger difference between ages that they met too though,, so its a combo of age difference between them and age difference that they met that makes it so interesting to hear their answers
Hello beautiful people! I am a 55 year old woman from the USA (from Missouri, a very conservative state, ugh) and I really don't know many of the terms you use but I am learning as I have been watching Jamie's videos since one popped up in my feed a month ago. At first I didn't understand what Trans was and was truly shocked to discover that Jamie was born in a girl's body as he is so clearly a man. I also wanted to say that I think Jamie and Shaaba (sp?) are such a perfect couple and are blessed to have found each other. Now I have met Noah and Finnce who are a great couple as well. Thank you so much for making these videos! Hugs all the way from the USA!
Also from Arkansas here and am in a relationship with my trans bf! We started dating before he realized he was trans so even a year later now, we get a lot of ignorant comments, dead naming, wrong pronouns etc. We have now moved 1.5 hours away for a fresh start though!
Shaaba has a beautiful soul. Her level of understanding is a breath of fresh air. I'm not trans, but I hate when people lack empathy and understanding. At least try to understand. Remember, we all are just human beings trying to make our way in this world the best we can. Be kind to one another. :)
Corry and Noah's relationship is funny with how they're constantly teasing each other and then there is Jamie and Shaaba who are adorable. Best types of relationships = noah & corry, shaaba and jamie
Being a ftm with a ftm, it’s always hard to fully understand dysphoria when it’s not yours. Our feelings and the way we handle it are different. There’s no shame in not fully understanding, as long as you’re respecting the other’s wishes.
I second this. I’m afab nonbinary and two of my partners (I am polyamorous) are trans ftms. Sometimes they like parts of their body that I don’t, and vice versa. For example, one of my partners enjoys having more feminine hair, around shoulder length, while I don’t like my hair below my ears. Everyone’s brains and bodies are different and even if you have the same gender identity as someone else, it doesn’t make your experiences the same.
@@subscribetostuntpegg1636 well i suppose.. though in my own case i wouldn't mind either way.. if i fall in love with that person i don't really care what they have between their legs.. like i already have a hard time liking anyone so if i were to put that on there aswell it would only make it worse for me. if i were to date someone then find out they are trans i'd just be like so ? i fell in love with that person for their personality not for anything around that.. like i'd fall for a man either way but if that man was born with a vagina i would easily be able to cope with that seeing as they would still be a man in my eyes i mean if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck it must be a duck.. just because that duck might be a hybrid between a duck and a goose doesn't mean i should treat it any differently than i would otherwise
When Corry mentioned meeting Noah after University, I was curious what Noah's age is because I have followed him on Instagram since the beginning and couldn't remember his age. So, like any normal human I did a quick search on Google and found out he's 19 years old, and while doing that a link to his "birth name" came up. Which, I kind of thought it was quite rude that someone wrote and article about that when it's general knowledge (in my opinion) that you shouldn't really ask that question. I clicked on it, only to read and see if they actually outed his birth name or if they put that up to make educate others on it being rude to ask, and when I clicked on it, it said "His *real name* is Noah Adams" and the "real name" part was bold lettered and it just made me immensely happy that the article was not what I had originally thought it was! ♥️
No, bi and pan are synonyms, some people use them in different ways but they all just boil down to: attracted to people regardless of their gender. I am bi, I am attracted to people regardless of gender and every bi person I know feels that way too. This myth needs to go away.
@@thedoctor6583 definitions from dictionary: bisexual - sexually attracted not exclusively to people of one particular gender; attracted to both men and women. pansexual - not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity. these are not synonyms
@@thedoctor6583 I think you might mean omnisexual which is similar to pan. It basically just means to be attracted to all gender identities (like pan) but you may have a preference (like bi)
@@kc-eq4tk No, omnisexual and pansexual are both micro-labels under the bi-umbrella. For some bi+ people they're important, that's why they use them, for some people they're not, that's why they go with bi but at the end of the day, they can all mean pretty much the same thing, we fall in love with whomever we fall in love, gender really isn't a deciding factor. That's the entire point of the bi+-umbrella.
This,,, genuinely made me really happy. As a gay trans man, I was always really worried that I could never properly be able to be in a healthy, fulfilling relationship with a cis gay man. This gives me a lot of hope
Mae García Fuentes “Cis” - is a term for people whose gender identity matches the sex that they were assigned at birth. Everyone is the gender they are assigned at birth.
When shaaba and Corry were talking about how they didn’t feel like their partners were ever female, I totally understood. I have a friend that I’ve known since 2nd grade, and he transitioned (ftm) in 7th. He never felt, acted, or even looked female. And now he’s much happier being his true gender.
I've have a friend that came out a few weeks ago and I honestly thought I'd just missed something and he had already came out. He hadn't yet, but he was just always just male...
My best friend is trans masc, and despite presenting as a female before coming out, I kinda just read him as male. It's hard to explain, he just "felt" like that. And when he came out it made so much sense.
Two of my friends just forget I'm trans sometimes and it makes me really happy. I'll casually mention afab things and they'll be confused for a couple of seconds and you can see it on their faces. It made me realize they actually see me as an actual boy and not just a "girl pretending to be a boy".
This is true. I met some people in my youth that "never felt like a girl/boy". They weren't even out then... So when they transitioned it wasn't a surprise or anything it was more like: "Yeah, seems right "
I've been dating my partner for two years and he has said that he will only ever see me as a girl because I was "a girl when we first met." I'm a trans guy
@@notlaxolotl8848 i've cried on the bus once when the guy i'd just been with told everyone. my ex girlfriend came over and began telling me that he'd just shared it with the group of friends on the ride. then, a group of our guy friends started being assholes about it all. fortunately, i didn't cry until they'd already left for their stop. hope you're okay?
3:30 my phone rang as I was watching your video... it was the Transgender clinic in the city calling to tell me I have an Appointment to talk about HRT and top surgery!!!! Yay!!!! So happy that I'm finally getting what I need to help me become the man I've always been!

Shaaba is such a beautiful soul with her attitude towards trans people, everybody should have such an open and kind mind. It would be a dream to have such an amazing partner as her during and after my transition. Corry also has such a great attitude towards these sometimes uncomfortable questions and he’s really funny. :)

Same as a Mom to a FtM child. OK not the same as a partner but still very helpful. Also the "do not touch" comments. My child never wants to be touched. Never a hug or OMG just bumping them passing by. So thank you to you all for helping not only partners of but also parents.
Noah looks like he can tell when his partner is gearing up to do something or say something dumb and looks preemptively Done and then when it happens he looks like he’s gonna throw him out a window and that’s a quality dynamic right there
Dating a trans guy doesn‘t *make* anyone pan. Identifying as pan is something that has to do with your own sexuality. A cis gay man dating a trans guy is still gay. A straight cis girl dating a trans guy is still straight. A cis pan girl dating a trans man is pan.
EXACTLY! One of my close friends is pan and she is dating my non-binary bro and like, she was pan before they started dating??? Because that's her sexuality??? Just how my non-binary fren identifies as bisexual because for them bisexual = attraction to all genders - so that's their sexuality??? Like labels are open to interpretation and we should respect how different people interpret different things. Their identity is *only theirs* and no amount of opinions will change that.
@@j_fenrir THANK U FOR THIS COMMENT OMG while labels do have definitions they are not set in stone and in the end it all comes down to what ppl feel comfortable identifying as !!
Thank you SO MUCH for saying that telling bi people they have to be pan in order to be attracted to trans people is actually quite transphobic, because this is something that really angers me! I am bi, and I know that a trans man is a MAN. A trans woman is a WOMAN. I have been attracted to both cis and trans men and women, and I don't think for a second that I need to change how I identify because of it. It's so invalidating of a trans person's gender to tell a bi person (or anyone) that they have to change how they identify if they are with a trans person.
Kitty van Dijk I’m dating a trans man and I’m Pan, but I identified as Pan before I even met him, so now I’m a little confused and worried that it makes my boyfriend feel invalid
@@barns-n-noble9410 Oh no, not at all! It has nothing to do with being bi or pan, and neither of those identities are transphobic. There is this assumption that bi people ONLY have interest in cis men and cis women, because bisexuality is rampantly misunderstood even in the queer community. People assume that bisexuality is trans-exclusionary, and that in order to be attracted to a trans person, you have to be pan because pansexuality is more gender-fluid. But this belief is transphobic because you are saying that trans men are not "real" men and trans women are not "real" women, and that they are something "other", therefore straight, gay, or bi people cannot be attracted to them. There is nothing transphobic about pansexuality at all; the transphobia comes from the belief that ONLY pan people can be interested in trans people.
Kitty van Dijk oh I see thank you, I was worried about that, being Pan people said that I’m actually bi because of that belief, but I’ve been identifying as pan for a long time before I started dating my boyfriend so I doubt myself a lot
These videos are so important. I've never even met a trans person, so I feel uncomfortable even WONDERING about stuff. Like, if I say that I think ftm people are often hotter than cis guys, am I being offensive? PROBABLY! But you don't really learn anything if you're afraid to ask questions and make mistakes. This is like getting an education without having to be scared to mess up, so thanks! xo (Literally feel like I should not hit enter now, but whatever. The point I'm awkwardly trying to make is that you guys are doing a great job opening people's hearts and minds.)
@Jonasftw I think it's so great that you are here to learn, I am as well 😊. About whether your comment is offensive or not I would imagine that it could be because a trans man may not like the distinction of being hotter than a cis man even if it's meant as a compliment because trans or cis, they are all men and no man is the exactly same as another regardless of whether they are cis or trans, if that makes sense? But I am a cis woman so I really can't speak on it, I'm also just here to expand my mind. Either way it was clear you have good intentions and I'm glad that you decided to post your comment 😊.
Mate, thank you so much for coming here and educating yourself! I'm may not be trans, but 3 of my friends are, so I really see how ignorance hurts them. To see someone educating themselves just to treat trans people better honestly is making me cry right now. My best mate, Jeb, has a horrible transphobic, homophobic, bible-preaching idiot of a dad. He constantly misgenders them and calls them by their birthname. He doesn't care enough to learn and I will always despise him for that. You're decision to come here just shows that some people are willing to learn and understand. Thank you for being a good human. All the love ❤❤❤
Same. My theory as to why transmen and bi-men seem to be naturally hotter, for a cis-straight like myself, is because I notice they're usually more introspective and self-aware in most aspects in life, more mentally mature if you will. And that's sexy af.
How many times have you watched this over the past two years? Me, a teen who gets paranoid about nobody ever loving me because I'm trans: yes. edit: look at me back one year later

My boyfriend is cis and we mostly get attention from other trans people who think it's so wild I'm in an actual healthy and respectful relationship with a cis man he's a lovely guy tho so
@@max-bl6fi I think it's just because we can't trust cis people properly a lot of the time I've had relationships with people who've definitely seen me just as my assigned gender so There's at least some basis for it
@@max-bl6fi yeah, I feel that. I know a lot of trans people who suck, and a lot of great cis people. I think it's just that prejudice against trans people and transphobia are still super prevalent, so it's kinda harder as a trans person to find a cis person who properly understands and respects your identity ig Not necessarily by fault of their own, but bc they don't know any better A trans person obviously knows how it is to be trans, so it becomes a bit less of an issue when you date another trans person If that makes sense??
CrypticP hey, cis girl girl here!! I just wanted to ask you, if you don’t mind, how was it for your boyfriend to tell his parents (if he has already)?? My family is very traditional and if I one day date a trans man I’m worried they might not be very welcoming of him.

Something that I think is important in every relationship is the ability to say, "I'm feeling confused, and conflicted, and a bit upset, and I don't know how to put it into words yet!" And having your partner hear that, and still know they're a good partner.
@Syndaron Jade Greywood he said it's cause he thinks that when it's normal he looks weird or it looks bad and just likes the way he looks better when it's mirrored even though it doesn't seem like much of a difference

I'm cis, and I would never pretend to fully understand dysphoria, but I did want to mention that what you all said about it rings very true about generalized anxiety disorders as well. No matter how long I've struggled with mine, I still haven't figured out how to explain the feeling to people who haven't experienced it. The best I can do is approximations and metaphors, and they usually end up still thinking "oh, you're just stressed, we've all had that". And then there's the whole "anxiety about anxiety" thing, where when I have an anxiety attack, the more I think about it the worse it gets, like you said about not wanting to talk about your dysphoria when it's happening. And some days I'm fine, other days the littlest thing will set me panicking, and I won't always even know why. So while I can't know 100% what your experience is like, I empathize with some of it
Im a very anxious trans person and I personally think the way my body/brain react with dysphoria is quite similar to how I feel with an anxiety attack but also different. Youre right and there isnt really a perfect way to describe any of the physical or mental emotions but it helps to have something you can relate it to
Dating someone with gender dysphoria sounds like walking on some kind of emotional fragility mindfield. It would drive me crazy and I probably end up doing a Freudian Slip or mis gendering them somehow just because you are trying so hard not to
💕Thank you all so much. As a parent of an F2M transitioning teen, your videos are so deeply helpful for me to understand and support him. You are all adorable genuine humans and give me hope 💕
The birth name thing strikes a sore memory for me My ex (a trans man) never mentioned his birth name, and I didn't really care to ask. But one time we went to dinner with him at his dad's place, and his semi-drunken dad decided to go on a fatherly rant about the history of his "two daughters" and used my bf's birth name in past tense context. Seeing my bf's expression when that happened struck a special little spark of rage in me. It's one thing to mess up when you're still getting used to the change, it's a whole other thing to think it's okay to deadname someone just because you're referring to them in a past context.
Just want to leave Shaaba some love for being so honest about her experiences. I'm the same age as you guys (probably a few years older actually, oops) but being trans just wasn't spoken about when I was younger. I had a vague idea about "transexuals" from Rocky Horror but that was it -- I had to educate myself on a lot of things. I really relate to your comment about "don't give people grief for asking honest questions from a place of good faith" -- I think it's so easy to shoot people down for their ignorance, when they're not necessarily to blame for it -- especially people in their 30's or older. So yeah. Much love to Shaaba. I think you're awesomesauce.
hidingfromsomeone oh my goat this is so cute thank you for taking the time to share this and your experiences 💛 We shouldn’t punish people for ignorance, but if they’ve been given an opportunity to learn and still act like an idiot then that’s a different matter 😋 All the best! xx
I love seeing gay cis/trans couples because one time a cis gay man told me "No self-respecting gay man would ever date you" and I'm glad there are people like this to prove him wrong
I have learned a lot about my own sexuality through learning about transsexual issues and people. I was anti-trans (and I'm a gay male myself, go figure) when I first learned of the guy in Oregon who got pregnant because I thought it took something away from being male. Now, I see trans men as men, period. I would gladly have a relationship with a trans man if it ever came up in my life. Thanks to all people like these four who take the time to talk about their feelings and attitudes...it really does help.
"You can't talk about dysphoria while you're feeling dysphoric" that is relatable! For me it's anxiety. But I've also matured a lot through the years. I don't need to understand what people are going through, i just need to respect them and their feelings.
When hearing you guys talking about how basically it's not even a question that Jamie and Noah are males, it just sort of made me so happy in a way. I'm not a trans person but I basically live with males in my head [thanks Dissociative Identity Disorder], and that's something that actually makes them feel valid. Our fiance is the only one who ever told my male alters that it wasn't even a question if they were male or not. That made us so happy lol I've just started to watch your videos Jamie and honestly..... that's just amazing! I sadly don't know much about the LGBTQA+ community in general. And I'm glad that I get to learn things but also to see that you're both (with Noah) with such wonderful people! PS. I truly hope that what I said made sense, English isn't my first language ^^; I'm sorry if it didn't - Stars To talk for myself, a male alter, I get dysphoria often and that's quite a pain. I think that what helps the most is having a partner who sees you as who you are, like in every relationship actually. Just be you and love each other man lol Didn't really watch the video myself but you guys seem to be all very nice people! - Laio
Enjoyed your video. So much great info. My daughter recently had her best friend tell us she is trans. The videos have been so helpful in showing me how to support him on his journey. ❤❤
This was so, SO good! Not a single second of this video was wasted, and even as a queer person, I learned so much about the subtleties you have to keep in mind. I know that some of the questions must have been triggering, and I want to thank you for being so brave and generous with your feelings.
OMG, I feel so terrible. Back in the day, the only trans person I had met on a close personal level used to talk about their birth name and chosen name in such a free way, I never got the memo that it was a taboo subject. I just didn't have the exposure to know any better. I made the horrible mistake a couple of years back, when I got closer to someone transitioning, of casually asking about it when the subject was being mentioned. And I think I caused them pain, even though they said it was okay after half an hour of profusely apologizing, but I've felt terrible about it since... Lesson learned the hard way. I now make sure to be a better, and more well informed advocate for people in the trans communities. Thank you for your wonderful and straightforward answers, you make people like me better.
Great video im cis gender and bi and my husband was trans (im widowed now unfortunately he was the love of my life! ) but i truly enjoy your videos and I think my husband would have enjoyed them as well keep up the great work w education you can truly Change the world!
I've seen Jamie's videos and thought that his transition was amazing to watch and made me emotional (in a happy way). I have seen some of Noah's videos when he collabs with Evan. But if I'm perfectly honest I never even realised that he is trans! They are both amazing and I'm so happy that they can finally be comfortable with themselves after such difficult battles!
Thank you!

@Oana I mean hey, yeah, everybodys got a preference. I would date a trans woman, some people wouldn't. That's that
I know in my heart of hearts that i am pan, and it does have to do with liking trans people, but what really solidified it for me was realizing that i think the gender binary is just silly.
Thank you for being so open minded and trying to learn! We all appreciate it!

Being a ftm with a ftm, it’s always hard to fully understand dysphoria when it’s not yours. Our feelings and the way we handle it are different.
There’s no shame in not fully understanding, as long as you’re respecting the other’s wishes.
That's comforting
I second this. I’m afab nonbinary and two of my partners (I am polyamorous) are trans ftms. Sometimes they like parts of their body that I don’t, and vice versa. For example, one of my partners enjoys having more feminine hair, around shoulder length, while I don’t like my hair below my ears. Everyone’s brains and bodies are different and even if you have the same gender identity as someone else, it doesn’t make your experiences the same.

Litch The Shinigami yeah, that’s totally fine, however my point still stands that genitals play a huge part in a relationship

bi - attracted to more than one gender
pan - attracted to people REGARDLESS of their gender
No, bi and pan are synonyms, some people use them in different ways but they all just boil down to: attracted to people regardless of their gender. I am bi, I am attracted to people regardless of gender and every bi person I know feels that way too. This myth needs to go away.
@@thedoctor6583 definitions from dictionary:
bisexual - sexually attracted not exclusively to people of one particular gender; attracted to both men and women.
pansexual - not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity.
these are not synonyms

That was a GREAT post. Glad you're in "school" with the rest of us. It's a wonderful, complicated planet, isn't it?
Mate, thank you so much for coming here and educating yourself! I'm may not be trans, but 3 of my friends are, so I really see how ignorance hurts them. To see someone educating themselves just to treat trans people better honestly is making me cry right now.

The birth name thing strikes a sore memory for me
My ex (a trans man) never mentioned his birth name, and I didn't really care to ask.
The way Shaaba was looking at Jamie during his outro 😍 you've been together for almost a decade and you're still so in love, its adorable 💕
This is a colabaroration of 4 bootiful souls and I’m living for it both you and Noah educate me and others so much and I’m so thankful
What a lovely bunch of compassionate, open people x
"But I am also like a mom...in Person. So if I dont know whats wrong I dont know how to mom you"
I think I never related more to a statement
I think you're awesomesauce.
hidingfromsomeone oh my goat this is so cute thank you for taking the time to share this and your experiences 💛
We shouldn’t punish people for ignorance, but if they’ve been given an opportunity to learn and still act like an idiot then that’s a different matter 😋
All the best! xx
@@shaaba oh yeah, if you give someone a chance and they're still an idiot then punch them in the nose (I'm joking, I'm joking!!)
As someone who grew up Muslim, the phrase "your love is not halal" broke my heart. Damn. I'm pansexual, my dad still doesnt really know.
that's a really good video .... for a tra... no. just a good video. no jokes here :P
XD
My faves are making a video after the worst day in forever and I am so thankful for this.
Julia sending good vibes and hoping your days going forward are significantly better 💛
@@shaaba aw thank you Shaaba♥️
I love seeing gay cis/trans couples because one time a cis gay man told me "No self-respecting gay man would ever date you" and I'm glad there are people like this to prove him wrong
Yes!! Sensitive topic with commentary!! Spot on!! Thanks for sharing!!
Now this is what i expect from youtube's algorithm
I appreciate how honest this is. It's so important for others to see this.
I love the energy that all of you have when filming together, would love to see you collab again
That made us so happy lol
I've just started to watch your videos Jamie and honestly..... that's just amazing! I sadly don't know much about the LGBTQA+ community in general. And I'm glad that I get to learn things but also to see that you're both (with Noah) with such wonderful people!
PS. I truly hope that what I said made sense, English isn't my first language ^^; I'm sorry if it didn't

To talk for myself, a male alter, I get dysphoria often and that's quite a pain. I think that what helps the most is having a partner who sees you as who you are, like in every relationship actually. Just be you and love each other man lol
Didn't really watch the video myself but you guys seem to be all very nice people!

Yes. Corry hit it on the god damn nail!
I seriously thought she said "I didn't realize I was by myself" and not "I didn't realize I was Bi, myself" 🤣🤣
Great video im cis gender and bi and my husband was trans (im widowed now unfortunately he was the love of my life! ) but i truly enjoy your videos and I think my husband would have enjoyed them as well keep up the great work w education you can truly Change the world!
How much unconditional love can you squeeze into one video? I love this.
I have so much love for them both
Noah out here with the wife beater on 😩😩😩
.....a tank top?
Yeah it was just a joke bc my parents always call them that
@ The toothpaste Man
Are you Hungarian?
I'm from Hungary, and one of my friends call them wife beater too.
Bogi B nah 😔
The toothpaste Man my parents call them wife beaters too
the "Hey Corry, come look at this picture" story has me in actual tears of laughter
I really like having all of the together in a video because you get so many more views and opinions and scenarios etc. and it's just really nice to have such a wide range of that about one topic because so many more ideas and experiences get covered
Okay so my boyfriend (hes ftm) and I met jamie and shaaba at pride and wow they're the sweetest in person man
lucky!!!! i wanna meet them so baddd
