I love these lyrics. It's corny as hell to say "These lyrics are so _me_ man." but for real. No bouts with depression from me but when I get mad the best thing to calm me down is aggressive music. Metalcore works really well. I have a special place in my heart for melodic hardcore because it embraces anger as something that can be positive if pointed in the right direction. No, not depressed. Just a little pissed off.

The amount of growth this band has had in the past couple of years is astounding. You can really tell when a band is inspired and puts their all into their music. This album has better vocals, deeper lyrics, richer guitar tones, and was better overall produced than Gossip imo. I think they've really found their niche musically.

This song is sad, concerning. He wants out of the "cage" the music industry locked him in. And he tries to tell people his problems but they don't listen.
From what I got, this song is not about that, but how it was back then. He actually thought about quitting SWS also, but then got help from the new record (Sumerian, iirc) etc. and they helped them put the album together and pick them back up. He's in a good place now and enjoying it all again and even released a solo EP recently ;) And he has a company or something which helps new bands gaher more attention and sings on other songs to help them grow and spread awareness of them. So no worries for now :)
