    Well, Marie... Once again, my dear, you were as right as rain. I am, without a doubt, the biggest pain in the butt to ever come down the pike... I meet someone whose company I really enjoy, and what do I do? I go overboard. I smother the poor soul. I cause him more trouble than he has a right to. God, I got a big mouth... When am I ever going to wake up? I wish you were here with me right now.... But I guess... that's not gonna happen... Not now, anyway...

    This is a great still for this song. One of my favourite movies of all time and I thought the ending was amazing. That's kind of what makes this movie so special. Del Griffith is funny and well-meaning and so full of life that you'd never dream of him being homeless and having lost his wife 8 years before we see him in the film. Neil Page's reaction is an image I'll never forget. Both Steve Martin and John Candy nailed that scene in the train station. Fantastic song too. Requiem Mass.

    "You wanna hurt me? Go right ahead if it makes you feel any better. I'm an easy target. Yeah, you're right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you... but I don't like to hurt people's feelings. Well, you think what you want about me; I'm not changing. I like... I like me. My wife likes me. My customers like me. 'Cause I'm the real article. What you see is what you get."

    Incredible movie. I am a child of 80s cinema. I was born in 1982. I love American comedies of those years. Chevy Chase, Kurt Russell, Tom Hanks, Monty Python (UK). great years, not like today's commercial garbage and without political correctness, blacks, whites, yellows, Jews, Mexicans. see how once everyone was equal and no one protested. now everyone wants to be more equal. All the best fellow Americans, on this beautiful sunny day.

    Take me back home to Illinois

      This may sound strange, but just driving through the suburbs, in Chicago, and in Moline and the Quad, always makes me miss Illinois. And I've lived here most of my life. I went to live in Hawaii and Colorado. It wasn't the same. I love my home state. It's beautiful here, it's fun, and it's different. Everyone is so nice to each other.

      Thanks for the note. I've been all the way out in California for the last 9 years for school & work...having lived all my life in Illinois, I just can't relate to being out here and I'm ready to go back...despite all the budget issues and political nonsense that's been going on.

    • @evandylan
      @evandylan 8 років тому

      Well the political nonsense is going to always be everywhere you go. But sorry to say it but the east coast and west coast seem to be full of polarized opinions. I like staying in the mid-west, I can actually talk to strangers and have a good time. My good friend offered to let move to California with him, and I said screw that. People are too fake there.

    Underrated has become a trivial term these days. Too common. This film is the definition of Underrated. How many movies can make you laugh and cry?

    I think Del carrying the Trunk with him everywhere symbolises hurt, pain, Trauma, depression and one man with no hope, then Neil lifts the trunk with him,which to me says your not alone i will help ease the burden, just my interpretation.
