Unpopular opinion, copilot should be rename as Clippy.
You mistyped “popular opinion”
Clippy would be epic!!!! 📎📎📎
Double down on the trolling and name it Klippi
Clippy Overlord

Yo I'm proud that UA-cam is suggesting my video at the end of yours. Means a lot to me to be suggested by a great quality creator like you Luke! #datanerd !!
Honestly I'm pretty excited about this one. Making presentation from Excel data is a huge time sink. Hopefully it works.
Hey Luke, I just wanted to say Thank You for making videos and showing us new things, I hope one day I can be a data nerd too. :)
You got this my dude!
It will happen! Sooner than you'll realize. Just focus on the right set of skills and stay consistent
This is such a game-changer! Love the excel copilot and the feature for skipping meetings! 🤩 And yeah, I’m thinking we’ll only have more and more ‘creepy but useful’ tools in the future 😅🤔
I would strongly consider going back into a corporate job if I can use this feature to skip meetings 🤣
This is crazy good!!🙌🏻
This is going to change so many things
Thanks for explaining this Luke, I was waiting for this video 😂😂
While for me at the moment it has no use and is a bit expensive (because of the exchange rate), I hope in the future to be able to use it in my area (Logistics and Construction)
Great explanation thanks! Love the subtle pun😅
Very reasonable price for those features. Small and medium companies will be improved.
Hello Luke. When will you make a review video about ChatGPT's new model? I can't wait.
When will be available?
Thank you
I'm not going to be excited until I actually see it in action. I have the copilot preview for Windows (different to the one in Excel) and I've been REALLY underwhelmed by the experience to the point where I have basically forgotten it exists.
Yeah I hear ya. I felt the same with the windows version of copilot but it looks like this may actually have use for those in the apps
yeah it is basically just a bing search bar

I just want it to be able to adjust the rows/cells heights/widths so that the print or selected area fits a given aspect ratio... and then lets me screenshot it so that it generates an image that will fit as a wallpaper. Super niche use case, but it would be great to see. (I need to put a spreadsheet on computers that don't have Excel on them, and my options are image file on desktop the user can double click on, or wallpaper, and I like wallpaper a whole lot better, since it's harder to get rid of .)
I'm an Excel/data/math nerd, so it's fun doing the calculations manually, but it would be nice to see Excel do some of the heavy lifting for me.
What / where would you use host a Data Portfolio website? I don't want to deal so much with coding the website from scratch, but I do want it to be flexible enough that I could host live dashboards I develop with python, power bi, etc, to show off my projects and skills. I just passed DP-203.
Even if it won't be as good as advertised by Microsoft, all the new possibilities provided by Co-pilot, Chat GPT/Bing and Python in Excel are still very exciting. Together, these are the single biggest upgrade to Microsoft Office since its very introduction 25 years or so ago. Yes, it will change work. Yet at the same time fears that lots of jobs will disappear are likely overblown. We can't turn back the clock, and time doesn't stand still either. Business is competitive and so is work to some extent. Level up, figure out how it works and reap the benefits. Most of the new features will result in increased productivity by reducing the amount of donkey work. The resulting productivity improvements are the single most important long(er) term driver for healthy economic growth and prosperity for all of us, provided we're willing to change and level up.
It won't eliminate as many jobs as people think because most employees are not fully utilizing many of the excel tools that have been around for decades. Not all workplaces are cut throat competition.
$30 a month for a new feature that not a lot of folks know how to adopt in their day to day lives sounds like a lot!
Yep, I can understand this. With there focus on enterprise first I really think it's going to be more up to companies as they primarily have and pay for this for their employees. So curious to see if companies shell it out
They target employees of enterprises businesses. The calculation is very simple. If employees are minimum 1-2h/month more productive, it’s worth to buy for all employees.
Wow Microsoft will be able to condense your identity into some coded thing in order to fully automate every human action. So glad I never have to think again because a superior amalgam of myself and ‘every’ other human personality has got it covered.
Don’t worry. Facebook is doing the same thing. AI will simulate you for your friends & family. It will give you highlights at the end of the day or week.
Luke back in the sheets!!! You can be my co pilot any time
Dave, you a freak in the sheets! 😘
For the first time, as an employee, I actually feel threatened.
The Python code does NOT run in the spreadsheet. It runs in the cloud, so your spreadsheet will only work online.
Hey Luke, do you think we will be able to run SQL on client data. Similar to tableau
Really depends on company. But if youre already using the enterprise edition and your data is all there I think it would be fine. But can’t speak for all companies.
is there any competion for data analytics ?can you just say how to participate and where to participate?.
what is copilot can not do and it is can do compliment data vizualization???
Back into the sheets?? What do you mean by that
Hi Luke, What is the research you are referring to in your video?
papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=4573321
Interesting.
potential replacement for ChatGPT and us!
I just got done with presenting my AI/ RPA initiative for a global consultant and used that same BCG study.. to anyone out there… stop worrying about getting chatgpt to do good api calls. Learn the tools and which to use before you innovate
I think the Powerpoint features are the most Powerfull so far...pun intended
Plzz luke ans my question
Should i learn ms Excel details with all functions or i start to leran how to use copilot and other ai tools in ms Excel works
Please reply luke
Please any answer
copilot was just released but not integrated to 365 yet
Dear luke, I really love to be a data analyst and I watch some of your videos about it. Do you think having a master degree would help to get a data analyst job or not???
def would help, but not required. Depending on the masters degree you may want to look into data science as well
So what happens when everyone in the meeting decides to follow and no one shows up?
🤣 Sounds self-correcting to the "this could have been an email" meeting
Which laptop is best for data analytics windows pc or Mac OS...i want something i can use for the long term.
I have a video on it. The safe bet is a PC
Thank you. I'm grateful
best buy sunscreen friend hahaha
You may or may not agree with me. But I think the Star Trek computer is coming to real life 😊. Now we have to say hey computer do this. Then it's going to do what we say 💪💙
Hey Luke ! In your description you list the "Excel Skills for Business". The same team also has a "Excel for Data Analytics" specialization on Coursera :)
Also Microsoft now has a Excel+Power BI 8-course specialization :)
Thanks for pointing this out; let me look more into the Excel for Data Analytics as this one is slightly newer and has less people taking it.
I've added the Power BI specialization to my links! So thank you, this looks like a great course
Could someone explain why Copilot and VBA wouldn't communicate for security reasons? I don't understand.
With VBA, you can control pretty much EVERYTHING in excel. And this is awesome, but also dangerous for people with bad intent. An example microsoft uses is that someone could use VBA to build some sort of malware. And with CoPilot, this makes this even easier. This is just one example, but there are plenty others as well. They'll have to figure out this first before deploying

"potentially replacing chatgpt".
Let me know how.
I will wait.
Python in streets, excel in the sheets
I thought the point of learning python is so we don't have to pay to do python stuff in excel???
yeah... the irony on this one 🤣
💕💕
My life changed when I decided to delete chrome 😂 and started using MS Edge
Wanted to see some advanced charts and analysis but 60% of video is about outlook 😶
disappointed vscode isn't included
Yeah I think GitHubs build of their copilot (although separate) is good enough at this point
what about students??
Are you talking about how most universities give you microsoft apps as part of school? In that case it looks like most universities use the Enterprise edition so you should be good
Well if it uses python then it is only available in 365 Business Standard or Premium and Enterprise versions. So the personal or family 365 will not have it. Luke if I am wrong please tell us ordinary 365 users how to get it which was missing from your openting to this video. Stop trying to sell us what is not available to the average 365 user.
On July 18, Microsoft confirmed that the only product SKUs “eligible” to support Copilot are Microsoft 365 E3, Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, and Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
Luke, personal message, please don't hitch your wagon to Microsoft like an unpaid sales guy. Your soul will die.
I just don't like the idea of being forced to use Azure as a cloud platform to use this, especially if you're already using other cloud platforms because of application dependencies. This is the type of forced vendor tie-ins that people used to hate. If this catches on hopefully there will be a more flexible open version of this from other vendors.
I haven't learned a cloud platform system yet, but azure seemed like the obvious choice for me while waiting for co-pilot to come out.
@lashlarue59 what do you mean by being forced to use Azure as a cloud platform? Like being able to manage your M365 apps in something like Google Cloud? Honestly curious what you mean as I didn't really think about this and also feel that most people at the business level would even notice this
@@LukeBarousse Doesn't Python for Excel require Azure because the Python does not execute locally; it executes on the cloud? Since its not executing locally I assume the Excel data is being shipped to some sort of Python execution server on Azure, then running the code, then shipping the result back to Excel on your local box. If this isn't case please let me know.
@@lashlarue59 oh I see what you are saying. Well it does execute in Azure (somewhere, not exactly sure), but you don't have to do any setup. It automatically sets this up with you based on your Microsoft subscription. So i'm not too worried about this
@@LukeBarousse So are you saying that you don't need a full Azure subscription and the Python for Excel connection to Azure is covered in the Office 365 subscription?
Generate a mind numbing presentation? lol. I’ve sat through a view of those! Think you meant mind blowing
Gates greed knows no bounds. This tool should be free? Why isn't there a free alternative?
No VBA =
Meh too expensive
I am out! I am against subscription
No VBA = Useless
30 bucks per months??? No way im gonna pay for that
VBA sucks man. Python is the future.
Google Sheets is were it is at! Amirite 😗
@@LukeBarousse google sheets cant even stand up to Excels feet. (;
@@KE-cf5je no way jose - sheets trump excel in all ways
Cool, but I'm still never using Microsoft's shitty tools unless my company forces me. Outlook is by far the worst email client I've ever used, and Excel/PP are annoying to use. As far as MSFT goes, I'll stick to cloud computing and dev tools.
NOPE. This is MS jumping on the AI train, and will be just as lame and frustrating as chatGPT .. with added 'microsoft'.
And all that lazy plagiarism and unchecked coding, 'sounds like me', who on God's earth wants Microsoft to speak for them?? It's the dumbest thing I ever heard.
Luke and folk who use tools to accelerate their process intelligently and carefully, YES. For the other billion dull-minded Excel abusers, this is a one-way trip to the HR department 'exit process'!!
The irony is, the people who rely on the tools too much, too much that AI already satisfies their needs are the ones who will be soon replaced by AI.
Why did you insult us by calling us "nerds"...
It's like calling us losers or dorks...
In the context of this audience, “nerd” is a compliment as it means someone who has deep knowledge and passion in a particular intellectual or niche area. “Geek” would probably be an insult, as it typically refers to someone who is obsessed with a specific element of pop-culture.
@@Innesb No, it's meant to be self depreciating. Like hey, we're dorks but we're owning it. Nerd is an insult.
@@Lapusso650 That’s certainly one possible interpretation.
Are you sunburnt
increased productivity = less jobs...so people will get fired. I am giving my kids access to as much AI as possible so they can figure it out and benefit from it...for me its too late 🤣
