I asked ChatGPT to calculate the discharge of a pipe under given friction, diameter and headloss. It messed up the units and the answer was wrong. I told it to check the units and it did, repeated the mistake, then checked itself, and fixed the mistake. Next time I asked it got it right, and noted that it had checked the units. So it is taking training from us to improve. I thought that was impressive.
I will, tho, always ask and AI to calculate AND give me a reassurance that the answer is correct by some external reference, even just by working the calculation backwards to give the initial values.
I wouldn't trust it to get a drug dose or any other live-critical calculation correct tho!
Do you have to jailbreak Grok like ChatGPT? I mean, you know how GPT gives politically correct answers, or seems to be programmed to have a political bias? Is Grok better at that?
I've hardly ever received accurate mathematical answers from chatgpt, even simple ones with multiple prompts its forever wrong.
Agreed. Although ChatGPT and BARD(Gemini) have Python training, I need to breakdown each step for them to even come close to working code. I can use each to help outline a short program successfully. Then take each step and break it down to functions, which require further re-interrogation and my own corrections. Then cut/past those debugged functions back into the Outline for success. Of course, to stitch these together and debug, you need to be at least syntax correct and knowledgeable in Python with a good IDE, making the time and efforts of an AI of limited practical use.
Both AIs are good at identifying Python libraries I may not be ware of, and providing examples which are educational enough to be applied quickly.
Of course it's on me to ensure I don't incorporate outdated or obscure libraries my peers may not accept in the final code.
They've raised the price to $22 a month which is insane, especially compared to the competition.

I do think AIs being able to search the web etc and assess your pages is a great tool to have.

I don’t know if I can recommend grok at all unless you’re using twitter as your main news source.
RN I recommend ChatGPT Plus for analytics and questions and then something like Perplexity for news sources and searching the internet
