Never really thought about this before but after watching this video and a lot of other old videos of the Allman Brothers band I think that Derick Trucks should be considered an honorary member at the very least
I can count on one hand, concerts that were transformative, in my 50 years as a fan of live music. The Brothers 1972 - Auditorium Theatre's, Chicago, is right up there.
Been a fan of these guys since they came out in 1969. Absolute pros at their craft, and one of the few bands I've ever heard who are better live than in the studio. To me, that's the true test of talent in a musical group, and through all the different permutations of the band over the years, they've had it in spades. Gonna miss you guys...
if you want to listen to a real treat google bassist orteil burbridge rendition of amazing grace solo on a 6 string bass. by far, the most underrated musician.
I saw this lineup!

He's got so much talent! Same with Warren Haynes! Just chapters in their lives.

One of the best Blues Singers ever.
I really miss this band.
Thank God we've got so many performances captured on video to watch again & again.
I was privileged to be at this show, and I am proud to call the Allman Brothers Band my favorite ever. To Duane, Berry, and Butch🍺thank you

Makes you wonder how many great musicians there have been throughout history before recording came along.

One of my regrets of my 50 plus years of concert going is never having seen the Allman Brothers after the early '80's. Trucks and Haynes brought it.
