- this isn't a hot take at all. tl;dr - buy the x570 instead of the x700.
all photos featured in video shot on the Minolta x570 and scanned on the Epson v600. the film stocks i used were Kodak Portra 800, Kodak Ektachrome 100, and Fuji Superia 400. comment below if you want me to identify any film stock used on a particular photo.

My x-700 has given me great photos. I never used the program modes just manual.
I just started film photography with the Nikon F60 as its much easier to use over my Vivitar V3000N.
I wanted to get a Canon AE-1 Program or similar but those things are more expensive
It's also much MUCH easier to replace the capacitors if they die on the 570. Easily done by oneself with a soldering iron, the 700 you can break everything a lot more easily if you try (can maybe do it), they're really buried in there.
Yeah there's only one to replace, under the bottom cover, if you spend a couple of extra pennies and replace it with a tantalum capacitor it'll never need fixing again. Brilliant camera.
I agree, X570 is better. I have a 370, 570 and 700, I use only the 570. With the Motor Drive 1, it's a great package with great ergonomics. My first camera was a Pentax ME super, so I got used to those metering lights inside the viewfinder.
What do you do after you shoot your pictures? How do you get them on UA-cam or in social media
get them developed at a photo store ! i scan them at home to digital copies, but photo labs do scans as well
Hi!! I’m purchasing the X570 and was wondering if you knew the battery that it uses ?
It uses lr44 battery, 2 of them actually
hey Robert! Great video, it helped me in my search for my best slr! i curently have an XG-1 but i used an XG-M long ago and i realy liked it. how to you tink the XG-M compare to the X-570?
The XG-M is great! It's basically an X-700 without the Program mode.
If I want to get into film photography, does it matter if I just get a point and shoot or do you recommend not buying a P/S and learning how to use a manual camera?
it depends on your style! i think a manual camera would be the best way to learn all of the basics, but that doesn't mean you won't learn if you start with a point and shoot
@@robertsamuel I realise I don't have patience and I just want to enjoy the moment , so I bought an Olympus af-1 twin, and Im waiting for it to come in the post! Can't wait haha
good choice! spontaneous and candid photography is definitely a great style and way to learn
XG-M USERS RISE UP (its the Minolta sir I could find for 30 bucks)
u get it
Heck yeah, I use both the XG-M and X-500. They’re great. Am about to receive an X-700 in the mail but that’s mainly because of the Multi Function Back that comes with it.
