- We take a pair of Southern Pacific SW1500s, riding in the cab of 2613, From SP Dolores Yard in Carson, California across the Santa Fe to the Long Beach Wye and back on August 13, 1994. This is one of my relatively rare daylight videos.

I remember these days on the southern Pacific railroad. Miss those days
Those were fun times especially when I could catch a ride. Most of the time to keep a low profile, it was at night - this was one of those rare exceptions during daylight.
Great sounding horn...😍💓👌
Yes, the old cast P3 sounded great, even the newer ones - unmistakable SP sound
Great video! Really lucky to see a unit with a full SP light package at this late date. Though it looks like the lead unit's red warning light has some battle damage! I can't quite make out the number, 2577 maybe?
James Harness thank you for watching! Unfortunately I don’t have the other unit number in my notes. Lesson learned: you can never have too many notes! I will try to correlate it with my photos, if I took any of them that day and will post it in the description. For now your guess looks pretty close to what I can see!
CA. frowns on dirty EMD two-strokes. Their yrs are numbered but it was an eighty yr run.
I too miss the EMD motors. Thank you for your comment and for taking the time to watch
@@b2major9th we have a worn SP SD-40 that still shows it's faded red & grey livery.
Miss the espee, especially on the abandoned Roll to ARlington Az route
We all do for sure. Back then we thought it would always be that way. Wow how things have changed, and not for the better
Miss the espee,especially along the
Roll to Arlington Az track
Thanks for your comment, and for taking the time to watch.
I sure miss the espee
Thank you for watching!
Are those tracks at 2:28?
Yes, apparently
