Great video. I live in Phoenix, but lived in Tucson as well growing up and spent many years train watching all over the Espee, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon.
I watch these, and it's like going back in time, before both my favorite railway companies officially "died" on or about Christmas of 1996. The SP and the ATSF were two of the best that were.
Another excellent video by M.P. Hicks. Like the other videos that M.P. has done, this also shows lots of information, colored signals and live action that I had never seen before from the Espee! I grew up in Yuma in the early 70's , but never saw the railroad from this vantage point.
What was the maximum speed on Southern Pacific's Sunset Route between Yuma and Tucson? Also judging by the line and signals, looks like SP had many sidings between these two points.
Excellent. Glad I found your channel.

Did anyone notice there was a WISCONSIN CENTRAL SD45 in the lash-up of the waiting stack train in the yard?

I forgot that SP units often had town names in small print below the cab (ex: "Roseville" at 42:58). Anyone know why?
Metra does the same thing. "Village of Robbins," "village of Palos Park," etc. Idk why they do that either
What about the milepost "943" at Wymola? Was it from San Francisco or from Houston?
San Fran

70 MPH
UP got it all double tracked now.
@@skyh Most of it. The line through Yuma is still single tracked.
