- In November, 2001 SP 2457 was the last SW1500 in the Bay Area still wearing full Southern Pacific paint and numbers. Here it is doing what it was designed to do by EMD 34 years earlier.

I took VHS video myself here. Several hours of it. The Ex took it with her for some reason known only to her. So this footage here means ALOT to me!
I like the body design on that engine.
I love old yard Goats!
I worked in Ozol Yard from, 03-05...beautiful part of the bay area.
Ozol was a hidden local gem. Very few fans outside of the area had ever heard of it. I've never met a fan that hadn't heard of Martinez but few knew Ozol. Used to be up to a dozen units of all types at the Ozol "engine facility" sometimes. Walked through the abandoned Ozol yard office the day before they tore it down in '08 and scored a couple of HOWARD DTC block signs and some old SP safety plaques from the early 70's. Ozol just isn't the same with a few belt pack jobs and a trailer office.
Old day trains are coming back mp 15 DC and gp38-2
Love the loud 🔊📢 sounds of that old switcher.Of course the graffiti has to go.
Awesome slice-of-life railroad film-much enjoyed! Thanks for being there with your camera!
I wouldn't have been anywhere else! I'd kill to sit around Ozol all afternoon and shoot stuff like this again.
Look at all that gafhretti on that engine, indicitive of a bad neighborhood ? No, just slow rail work. O M G this is the the style of locomotive that I was trained on I could 'fire; it up to shutting it down' EMD 1500 !
That was a funny bit of graffiti. However, it should be painted out.
