    I notice that people play with heavier paddles in singles and lighter paddles in doubles. Makes sense, given that response time is more critical for doubles, and ground strokes are essential to singles. Does that mean players who aspire to be strong in singles AND doubles have to compromise on their paddles? Or master two paddles? I mean, this is your wand we're talking about.
    Christian you are doing spectacularly well. Don't ever let the grind of being a professional impact on your love of the game. Your love of the game is what will take you to the top. You are on the brink right now and it's great fun to watch.

    Thank you for your time and posting. Congrats. IMO, you've really improved in the last year, I think MLP with Newman really changed your game. Best of luck. We are all tired of losing. But you have to lose to be able to win. It's all about patience and time. Today is yesterday's future, tomorrow is today's future. It's just time and time never stops. The more you focus on losing, the more you will lose. The more you focus on winning, the more you will win. Davefusious says. :) This video concentrated on losing, not winning. Just sayin'. :)

    I’m more of a calm, even keeled player, but I still have the struggles inside. I’m sure Ben is scared for his future in singles and has had this conversation with himself recently. Write down on paper your win/loss ratio and think, wow, it’s actually improved insanely fast and steadily increasing

    I've known you were gonna be number 1 since you first became pro, keep your head up mate and stay on the grind. Ben johns and company are a big mountain to climb but don't lose focus and the results will come.

    Can you talk them into putting an actual end cap on the bottom instead of the pipe cap? That was my only issue with the ALW-c paddle

    Man, McDonald’s,chipotle, and Jimmy johns in one day. What does your weekly diet look like? If it is like that everyday I guarantee you that you are limiting yourself. You have the talent and making that diet adjustment might just be the push you need. No top athlete eats like that.

    You're not losing, you're learning. Instead of competing, be entertaining and you will continue to gain fans regardless win or lose. Like Roger Federer, he doesn't always win but he still remains a legend to this day.

    I’m sure you get this a lot but try not to take this too hard. When humans hunt for food we dont sprint after it as fast as we can we are endurance hunters that chase at a moderate pace until whatever we are hunting can no longer run away. We are the monkeys that never get tired so take that same mindset into trying to win. Yea losing sucks but this isnt a sprint to the top but a long grindy effort that you win by being the last man putting in effort when everyone else has quit. You’ve come so far so dont miss the view for the hike. Dont be so focused on racing to the end the ultimate goal that you lose sight of how incredible it is what you’ve done

    The pain is real, the progress is too. Remember, margins are small. In tennis, "from 1991-2016 the average percent of points won in a season for the No. 1 player in the world is just 55%. That advantage does not seem big enough, especially because players that end up No. 1 in the world win around 90% of their matches. But it is. Tennis is a game of small margins, played over great distances...." pickleball is the same. We focus too much on the shots we don't make and need to dwell on the shot patterns we set up to win points. We all will not win many points each game, like almost 40% of them. It's just the math of close matches. You got this.

    Patience, Christian. Your trajectory is steadily upwards. Your hard work has shown results. The matches you are losing now are in semis and finals. You are winning more than you are losing. Confidence is the hallmark of all winners. Getting dejected does not lead to confidence.

    Crhis, as I commented before, you will be a real challenger to Ben. In the past, I only said this about singles; now, the same for doubles and mixed. Keep going! You two can probably play since you use the same paddle brand as Ana Lee. I am tired of seeing Ben and ALW play together.

    Every person you lost to got a gold medal. So FWIW, by transitive property, your performance on men's side prob was 2nd best overall. Just (un)luck of the draw you ran into Staks, BJ, and BJ + ALWs before finals.

      Also congrats on the last tourney, you and Julian played amazing. Just keep it up brother, you are doing consistently better and better, playing more solid every tourney. Eventually you will win one, win another, until they just start coming one after another. Your head is in the right place, you have the skills, the drive, the dedication, nothing will deny you if you keep pushing. It’s very clear watching you play that you have something special.

    It may suck now. But everyone can see the progression. You said you have to believe that you’re the best. This is true but it is really terrifying for opponents when you believe it and there’s true realistic substance behind your beliefs. You’re very close. It sucks for sure to lose but it’s clear you’re on the right track to obtain your goals.

    Damn a couple months ago you were up and coming, not even top 10. I remember saying to myself, this guy has heart and dedication, he’ll be up there with the top pros. Fast forward to now and look at you. Sponsorship, competing at the top. Congrats and keep grinding.
