CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Sonny (Al Pacino) is interviewed live over the phone by a television news reporter.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on a true 1972 story, Sidney Lumet's 1975 drama chronicles a unique bank robbery on a hot summer afternoon in New York City. Shortly before closing time, scheming loser Sonny (Al Pacino) and his slow-witted buddy, Sal (John Cazale), burst into a Brooklyn bank for what should be a run-of-the-mill robbery, but everything goes wrong, beginning with the fact that there is almost no money in the bank. The situation swiftly escalates, as Sonny and Sal take hostages; enough cops to police the tristate area surround the bank; a large Sonny-sympathetic crowd gathers to watch; the media arrive to complete the circus; and police captain Moretti (Charles Durning) tries to negotiate with Sonny while keeping the volatile spectacle under control. When Sonny's lover, Leon (Chris Sarandon), tries to talk Sonny out of the bank, we learn the robbery's motive: to finance Leon's sex-change operation. Sonny demands a plane to escape, but the end is near once menacingly cool FBI agent Sheldon (James Broderick) arrives to take over the negotiations.

"i'm robbing a bank because they got money here that's why I'm robbing it" LOOOL adorable
OMG, lovely! 😄
hes so cute
I love the way Pacino reacts to being cut off at the end
he lives the scene it's literally unbelievable
"OH GREAT LETS TALK ABOUT THINGS WE DONT KNOW ABOUT" -Al Pacino
Great phrase. I know so many people that needs that phrase quoted every day...
"What's wrong with this guy?"
Hilarious the way he said “Wtf happened?”
"Oh! Ahhh. Whaaat? I don't know what you mean by that. I'm robbing a bank cause they got money here. That's why I'm robbin' it." Hahaha. Love that line. Love Pacino.
That's Dustin Hoffman.
TheSouthernerWithAdhd bro that’s literally al pacino
@@sabrinastarcat3499 I realized that. I forgot to delete the comment.
@@thesouthernerwithadhd2710 what’s funny though is that when the real rob happened the journalists wrote the guy looked like “Al Pacino or Dustin Hoffman”
"Noooo well let's talk about something you fuckin know about". I love that line !
I guess this was b4 the language could get bleeped out on TV. 😂
@@joelgoodson7496 This was released to theaters in 1975. TV would have bleeped this
"I'm robbing a bank cause they've got money here...that's why I'm robbing it". Love Sonny and Al is amazing in this role, what an actor he is!
That's Dustin Hoffman.
Fr sal death sad af tho
@@thesouthernerwithadhd2710 Who WOULD have gotten 2 play Sonny if Al didn’t. Dustin would have done a great job, but he wouldn’t have played him as fantastically as Al.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?"
"Robbing a bank"
" *Whoa* "
“What do you make a week? “
I’m in tears 😂
Get a union job? Yeah, right, without a union card? Get a non-union job? Know how much that would pay?
Either capitalism or the [union boss] mob, f'ed either way. Kiss him!
Al's best performance and one of the best performances in the history of World cinema.
DeNiro could not have done this
@@m.e.d.7997 De Niro sucks.
"I'm gonna spill their brains out all over the street"
Media: "This is fine. Let's air it on TV."
*Drops F bomb*
Media: "Dear god! Cut the cord! We must stop our innocent children from hearing such things!"
Lee Strasberg and Charlie Laughton were instrumental in shaping Al's awesome career at the actors studio in NYC
Maybe so, but Lee Strasberg did not accept Al Pacino into the Actors Studio when he first wanted to be admitted in there. Major f---- up on Strasbergs part IMO.
Some credit goes to Al Pacino himself.
@@m.e.d.7997 yeah but it’s him who highlighted Pacino’s talent in The Panick In Needle Park. Without this movie there would be no Al Pacino as one may know him today: Coppola saw that movie and immediately knew Pacino would be the next big thing.
1:40 the woman waving 😄
Just a great scene. This whole thing!! Funny.
She was in The Panic in Needle Park too with Pacino
@@zee8166 yeah, and the blond women also plays with Al in Scarecrow! They were all part of the same theatre band in their 20s or so and Pacino always wanted to shoot with them because they knew each other very well and so the scenes would seem even more real!
@@vincal.3178 I didn't know that! Al Pacino is my favorite actor
@@zee8166 yes he’s mine too! So realistic in all of his roles that are all so different! He has the capability to move me, to have compassion for his characters even they have terrible personalities. That’s how you see he’s a great actor.
Great scene here. Love this movie.
I saw this movie yesterday and I think it was amazing. I loved Al Pacino in this. Really good!
One of the all time great film performances.
Back when being on camera was a commodity and everyone wanted to be on tv no matter what, even if in a robbery held at gunpoint, those girls are still loving this
It's also a "Stockholm syndrome" brah. :D Especially, because the guys didn't do anything bad to the ladies. Subtly, ladies embraced them, even the fat, bank whatever, manager, the man kinda went along with it.
@@aleksandardjordjevic2729because people can relate to being the bank robbers.
Wonderful actor my favorite.
Wow fantastic actor!
1:41 photobombing level:over 9000
We all know what fredo could do in another room .... yeah two or three at a time
Hahahaha
The Bank manager was so great in this, so calm
My grandfather was the manager of this bank, and lemme tell you, he looked nothing like Sully Boyar.
2:08 Great reaction from Al!
HEY!!! Show it the way I saw it in a theater when it was NEW - in 1977 they were showing a little of the beginning of a WB cartoon after the screen said "Please Stand By".
If the robber would lower his voice and make it gravelly, he would sound just like Moe Sizlac
Thanks for uploading a great movie..💐💐💐
💔 Sully Boyar , such a wonderful actor , Rest Well Mr. Boyer 🤲😢💔🙏
After cutting the signal passing Sonny ... began the "Looney Toons"
This video was awesome! keeep em comin!!:)
His voice in DDA is different then in the Godfather.
Sera que esa sonrisa de Pacino salio sin querer jajaja cuando va corriendo junto a Sal
what's wrong with this guy? Lol
It could be his top rate acting but al looks wired as here lol!
Yeah when it got too real and he started talking about the way things are the news media wasn’t interested….
Same as now
Does anyone think Al look fairer here as Sonny, than as Michael Corleone who has a much darker complexion?
They made him look older for godfather 2
This is 3 years but Ig he got the tan when they were filming in sicily
I keep watching these clips now because of Alec Baldwin on Conan.
varškėsapkepas it's seprico not this movie
"Quote from the scene" Self affirmation for selecting the quote.
What's wrong with this guy??
Basically CNN
He robbed the bank to pay for his husbands sed change. JFC!
Woody Allen could have made this funny
Woody Allen is an unfunny pedophile, keep that bugman out of this great scene
But Al Pacino didn’t need Woody Allen
What's wrong with this guy? lol
