I have recorded at Blackbird and this plugin is amazing. I was with Warren Huart and others and this console as well as everything at Blackbird is top notch. If John says it sounds like the real thing, you can take that to the bank! We had a demo of this board from John himself and let me say John is the real deal. He is an absolute gear freak and knows everything about every piece of gear that he owns. Plus he is a wonderful guy!!!!!!! Thank you for all your amazing videos and reviews!!!

The low end on this is just phenomenal. The first Plugin that really delivers that feathery bass Ive been searching all over. real happy, v2 also runs smoothly in any Daw. Was a bit skeptical at first because it had quite some performance issues early on, but the sound just delivers!
I think this is a very cool channel strip myself and has it's own unique sound. Thanks for checking it out

Bought this yesterday after demo'ing for just a few hours (sorry I bought it before I could use your link). I absolutely love it! In particular, just as you did, I find cranking up the mic input just a bit adds a character, warmth and depth to my tracks that I can't replicate elsewhere. The EQ is super smooth and clean. Not that it's a huge deal, but I couldn't find any presets, could you? I use Cubase 11 Pro, maybe they didn't import correctly. Nice video btw.
Thanks for watching. No presets needed for a plugin like this. If you need presets then you may want to consider learning more about EQ
Sounds really great!! I'm a fan of using the transformers when mixing (the ssl from UAD in MIC mode are fantastic too) i will try it this week

Does this have a preamp on it, or can I use it instead of a preamp plugin?
It does has the preamp from the console they molded
Curious if anyone has any opinion how this channel plugin sounds compared to say Plugin Alliance Focusrite SC or just generally whether this thing really changes the game compared to the other channel plugins
Changes the game? That's a little much. Its just a great sounding unique channel strip. Comparing it to the Focusrite or any other channel strip isn't a fair comparison. They all have their own unique sound
There's NO PLUGIN in the whole world that sounds like this and that's the only truth!!! Trust me, I have' em all.........

Does the plugin come with any presets ?
I dont think so. you dont need them
Its is brilliant, Kit Plugins Core compressor is great too and the Burier plugin which is free has a lovely saturation.

He said that Geoff Tanner modded it to be flat up to 60k, which is rare, especially on a neve. That and the custom caps give it that sweet top end.

I have tried their stuff and did not like them at all. Just my opinion
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy then apparently you haven’t tried the 3rd party stuff from Tim Petheric,Alexb and the like. You should try them out.

This plugin certainly sounds fantastic.
Just curious… what sample rate is your session? Just wondering if the Blackbird channel needs to be in 96k for that silky sound quality. *I tend to get more mileage running large sessions at 48k with upsample-capable native plugins, Acustica & UAD
