Born and raised within 200 yards of the Tawe at Pontardawe. Fished it to death as a teenager and into my mid 20s. Caught hundreds of brown trout but nothing as big as that one you lost. It can be a very frustrating river and there can be a lot of disturbance as it runs through those built-up areas especially as the road is much closer now than it was back in the 1970s and 80s. Great video, must buy a day ticket to see if my old favourites still work!👍
@@RichardWilliams-uz7vo thanks Richard for the feedback. Sounds like you’ve had lots of fun on this river, I’m glad the video has inspired you to fish it again. Tightlines!
Nice video. I like the fly graphics etc. after watching this i just bought some Duo Klinks and Caddis from fulling mill. Have you ever used them for sewin or salmon ?
@@DaiHGowerWales thanks Dai, yes, I would have loved to have seen that fish. Permit and day tickets information can be found via this link: fishingwales.net/fishing-locations/tawe-tributaries-angling-association/

Thanks Mark! I’ve caught sewin and salmon nymphing, but not using the Duo method - yet!
Lucky you got a hat on. Don’t want to burn that swede 😂
Lol. Get those waders on - you know you want to!
I would give you the big fish, it touched the net. Just a shame we couldn't see it for the camera 😂!
That’s very kind of you Mike! Until I saw the footage in slo-mo, I didn’t realise just how close it was 😂
@capturedonline That fish was yours old boy. Around a pound and a half or more.
Beautiful lost brownie. Where can I buy my beat ticket
