How old is this woman ...30 years in the business ....so at least 50? She looks late 20s! I am so glad the nutrition piece was addressed . Clair you look amazingly well , well cared for and happy! You are my inspiration.
Just found you and love your inspirational and educational content! On a side note your t-shirts look deliciously soft and comfy. Would you be willing to share where you can purchase? Will be spreading the word about your channel Please keep the videos coming 😊
It's always a tricky subject because people have such strong views around the diets they feel work best, and I do respect that, but my own heart lies with a balanced approach.
For many of us, eating the carbs mentioned here, such as bread, potatoes and rice is hugely damaging to our health. We don't suffer from removing them from our diets, we regain our health.
Still watching but by 7:30, in discussing a low carb diet being hard on the thyroid, there is no scientific evidence for that, that I’m aware. The body can make as much glucose as needed (which isn’t much) via gluconeogenesis. Just to name one of the health/quality of life changes I’ve experienced, when I went keto in 2017 it ended years of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia like systemic pain (tried all the expensive meds 👎). It was like someone finally charged my battery. You hear that type of report continually in the VLC community. It can be argued that ketones provide more sustainable energy than glucose (as many VLC endurance athletes will attest). I’ve since transitioned to carnivore adjacent (so even lower carb). While still take thyroid meds, the dose is lower than pre-keto and Hashimotos antibodies are much lower. My endocrinologist is aware of my dietary protocol and expressed no concerns and gave zero warnings about theoretical keto effects on the thyroid when I adopted the VLCHF way of eating. Now on to watch the rest 😁.
I've been doing a low-carb/intermittent fasting lifestyle for a few years now, but recently I kind of back-slid and started eating some of the stuff that got me into trouble in the first place. I decided my body needed a complete reset, and I started keto. Healthy fats, no seed oils, no sugar, organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised, wild-caught foods. I don't think I could make it on a carnivore diet, unless my health required it. I love my salads and veggies. Keto just makes sense to me, and there are so many amazing cooking channels on UA-cam that help me keep it interesting. So glad you found what works for you👍
Thanks for sharing your experience here and I’m really pleased to hear your pain and fatigue are under control. This doctor summarizes the evidence around keto affecting thyroid function but further studies are needed. Where have we heard that before! www.drchristianson.com/blog/is-the-ketogenic-diet-safe-for-those-with-thyroid-disease/
@@dublinjazz1 My carnivore adjacent transition is really about trying to increase protein (I’m 65). There’s really not much stomach space left over for LC fruits or veg if I’ve eaten my goal of a minimum of 30 grams of protein per meal (preferably more since I have no appetite for between meal snacks). The 30 number is to ensure protein muscle synthesis (see Dr. Donald Layman lectures). A side benefit is that it’s dead easy. But I’m not a fanatic about anything other than real unprocessed or minimally food, no seed oils, little to no sugar, no grains (“Grain Brain” and “Wheat Belly” books..😬) - well, rarely grains - I may have a wee pumpkin pie slice at Thanksgiving 🤷.
@@thehonestchannel Thanks for the link! I know that T3 is frequently lower on VLC, there are physiological reasons why that is and why it means something different (not negative) for those who eat VLC versus someone that eats a standard carb heavy diet. I’d link a medical conference vid I watched if I could find it. I thought the section about keto and cancer was “interesting” given that the ketogenic diet as an adjunct to cancer treatment is highly researched and expanding in application. We know most cancers love sugar so removing it in all forms makes more sense for those in treatment, or with a family history. And cancer was virtually unknown to the Inuit and other basically carbless indigenous societies (so permanently ketogenic) before they started eating Western world foods. If you haven’t read the best selling “Ravenous” by Sam Apple about Otto Warburg’s work on cancer cell metabolism and the diet/cancer link, your sciencey brain would probably like it. I love your channel. Thanks for all you do.
It's incorrect to assume that people cut foods out of their diet in a state of ignorance. It's patronising to say the least. Des your guest realise its not just ordinary people who do what you refer to as a fad diet. Talk to Phillip Ovadia. Dr Ken Berry, Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr Bret Scher, Dr Abs, Dr Eric Westman, Dr Annette Bosworth, Dr Anthony Chafee, Dr Paul Mason, Dr Assem Malhotra.....just for starters.
Amazing interview claire, thank you so much for finding such an informative, knowledgeable and sensible guest. I’d love to hear Fiona’s take on best skincare regime ie, I’m concerned retinol thins the epidermis for instance. Xx
Don’t want to be rude but the title of this video is off. Did I miss something? Can someone from watching this video tells me how and when can I beat chronic inflammation based on what was said in the video? honest question.
The how to eat is really the basis of the whole discussion on the foods we should and shouldn’t eat and the when was set out when we discussed intermittent fasting. That said, I just changed the ‘how’ to ‘what’ to avoid any confusion.
I really like the color of your hair. My gray roots grow out so fast. You should make a video on how you color your hair and keep it touched up between colorings.
Thank you! We’ve had the same hair stylist come to our home for 15 years now and she does the whole family! She highlights my hair using a lighter color but is careful not to go too light so there’s not a huge contrast with my darker roots. She comes every 8 weeks.
There is a newer study by the American Heart Association linking a strong correlation to increased heart disease and mortality to fasting. With that said, I think diet is pretty huge for good skin and overall aging...we Americans eat too much, too often and not enough whole foods and healthy fats.
There are quite a few conflicting studies around fasting, but I think the idea of giving ourselves a 12 to 14-hour break is appealing because I don't think snacking does us a lot of favors and that's where we start piling on the calories so the idea of not eating after dinner to me is a very good one.
Many people who are healthy in their 90’s which is the only true test of any of this basically at fresh food and minimal rubbish. It is not complicated but that doesn’t sell books

She really does look great and thank you so much for your kind and supportive words ❤️🥰
Just eat what makes your body feel good. If you cheat don't do it often. We are all different so listening to your body will help.
Love the common sense of this conversation! Thanks again, Clare for another great interview.

Excellent discussion, particularly the multivitamin/supplements section. On a shallower note, your nail color is absolutely STUNNING!😍
I love a shallow note 😁 It’s Wisteria from Manucurist.

Many woman on the carnivore diet feel great after years of no carbs.
Yes, many people get their lives back after decades of eating a traditionally 'healthy' diet.
There is a newer study by the American Heart Association linking a strong correlation to increased heart disease and mortality to fasting. With that said, I think diet is pretty huge for good skin and overall aging...we Americans eat too much, too often and not enough whole foods and healthy fats.

Still hasnt got Dr Nathan Bryan on her show the world leader in nitric oxide for skin and body health to not do so very average
How do we get her book?

Certainly true of the relatives in my family who lived or are living into their 90s.
