I am patiently waiting for the 2025 Model Y and so for the mean time I would admire teslas i see on instagram and youtube but with this video I can’t help but to say you have a very beautiful family. 🙂
Hey, thanks so much! Your patience will pay off. I would have loved to get the refreshed Model Y but I couldn't wait longer. Knowing how the refreshed Model 3 is like, the refreshed Model Y is going to be incredible. Hang in there just little longer!
I’m glad these videos exist because the truth is that men who want to buy the M3P sports car can convince their wives that it can be a family car so they don’t have to get a MY, because let’s be honest, women tend to drive the SUVs and they’re just not as fun to drive.
We have a 2019 model 3 SR+ as a family car... and now our only car. I thought at first it would be a bit small coming from a toyota yaris but the model 3 is surprisingly spacious and can pack a lot more gear then we thought. We would have liked the model Y but the cost difference at the time didn't make sense. This car has exceeded my expectations for how utilitarian it is as a family vehicle. In future I would get a model Y for some light towing/car camping duties but I will wait till the Model Y refresh coming later this year and look to buy used model Y dual motor for less when prices drop. The main thing I do like about the tesla is the very good UI and seamless integration of things like phone-as-car-key, the memory settings for each driver, I have FSD but even autopilot is great for long trips. Enjoy your car!
I have a f150 lighting platinum, and I’m thinking of trading in for a new model 3 LR RWD because it definitely is a different drive experience than the ford and not to mention the range difference too
Since, I only supercharge with no access to charging at home nor work, I charge my 2024 M3 to 100 percent every supercharge unless I'm in a rush. But I let it drop to 40 to 50% before supercharging to 100%. Never know what emergency will pop up and not having enough charge to drive so I don't leave to drain in park at lower than 40%.
@@mickosmile850 Then you not using almost half of the charged percent. In most cases it is between 20-80% som normal which means you can atleast use the car until 20%. There is no clear info about how much percent you should use and I agree it is not good to use it until 10% or 0% but 20% must be possible.
Everyone here says they love their Model 3 but would upgrade to a Y. The 3 is already expensive, but I know if I grab one, I'll regret not getting the Y in three years.🤦🏾♂️
I would have loved the Y. Lot of it comes down to pricing and timing. I needed an efficient car this year but with this channel and the refreshed Model Y right around the corner, I had to go with a 3 and make it work. We'll see if the federal tax credit stays around or the new Y qualifies, but next few years will be interesting.
@@ajitheshbalan some things I didn't mention on this video that you should consider. If you are going to keep the car for a long time and you need more space in your car, Model Y is a better choice. I switch my car every 1-2 years. Model Y is going to be hard to sell for a good price next year when it gets refreshed. Of course unless you lease it at a really good price. Also this LFP battery has some down sides. If it's gets cold around where you live, it will take a harder hit on range and the car really "wants" you to charge to 100% every few weeks. You'll need a good charger at home. Hope that helps.
I’m in the UK and we’re not expecting the Model Y for at least another year. I’m thinking to go with a 2021/2022 Model 3 for 2-3 years and by then the refreshed Model Y should be in plenty supply. What do you think?
Hi there - could you please explain why you feel so? I am seriously considering a Model 3 for my family of 4 and this video made me think it would work, until I scrolled down to your comment! Thanks.
I got M3 Long Range AWD highland, my two kids are teenagers and don't care for the screen in the back its useless, so is the cheesy ambient lighting. I paid $800 for professional home charger install and bought the charger at best buy for $450, its worth every penny. Never been to a supercharger. If you want to turn the ambient lighting on and feel like a chick go ahead. This car drives so smooth, but its like driving around a honda civic. The only reason I like it is the steering wheel, and the cooled seats, and the speakers. I'd trade it in for a 2024 Model Y in an instant if I could but the resale value already dropped 10K in one month of ownership. I'll wait 2-3 years and trade it in for the juniper. I think the real selling point on this car is the performance model because of the front lip, 20” wheels, and performance seats, and spoiler. Right now I were to buy the model 3 the performance model with tax credit and low interest rate it would have been $100 cheaper a month on payments. Also, I feel like the long range model is a gimmick because you only charge to 80% while the standard range is always 100%. If your just wanting a faster car get the performance not a long range. You won't regret it like I did.
Congrats on your new Model 3 James! Thanks for sharing! Not gonna lie, I like the ambient lighting (the videographer in me is a sucker for RGB lighting). 😁 I’ll try to document how much I’m gonna get hit during the cold winter months with this LFP battery.
@@nunayobiznass yeah 80% daily with a Long Range AWD with upgraded 19" nova wheels is only 244 miles on a full charge. Way lower than what Tesla advertises. That 300 + mileage is not even a reality

nice video, id advice u too sometimes use the free autopilot on those big highways when it js neeeds to hold a lane, it will make it easier for u
I will definitely try! Thanks for reminding me! 😄🙏

Did u buy your Tesla before or after the low interest Rate?
This question is painful. Right before... LOL.
Was that the one with LFP battery? If so, shouldn't you charged it to 100%?

Do you often use a phone holder in your car?
Right now its default position is the cup holder since I have a thick phone case and won't wireless charge.

In Europe, standard range of refreshed model 3 and model y are literally same price. I am stuck deciding between them. Any advice here

The answer to this is no. For prospective buyers watching, just get the y or look elsewhere if you want a family ev.
Agree. I have both Model 3 and Model Y and never use the Model 3 for family stuff anymore.
