tip for those people who are thinking of trying profiles. make sure to deal with the shop. try it out right away and get it sharpened the next day or change the profile the next day instead of paying another $20-30-40 a few weeks later. many shops hand out blades for you to try as well.
Great video! This will help a lot of goalies. It's amazing how many intricacies there are to the goaltending position. Nice of you to help other goalies learn from your experiences. Great job putting this video together.
I had no idea that there were different blade profiles, all I knew was that if my hollow too aggressive I couldn't skate and I'd have to rub my blades on the goal posts lol Thanks for the info !
That’s something I always had to do after a fresh sharpen also but I think it depends on who sharpens your skates. I think what some people do is dull the outside edge a bit before heading onto the ice.
as someone who uses a 5/8 hollow, my skates don't bite the ice well which I thought was about my technique now I'm thinking I'll try 1/2" hollow over the summer. I have issues with lace bite and was relacing my skates last weekend. I like your idea of using the 2nd eyelet to tie your skates thank you!!
Got the power boot too. Makes a huge difference. Way more comfortable.

I went so often they gave me a couple sympathy sharpens and discount on the profile 😂

Haven’t tried myself but if your having any soreness on specific spots of the foot you can always skip eyelets around that area
7/16 is the way to go
11/16th ftw
I don’t think I can even get that hollow at my shop!
