You pointed out the ONE thing I don't like about PMDG in this video, it's pushback. It is too limited in it's distances. Apart from that, you couldn't get better quality if you spent a month of Sunday's in a Tiffany's... I avoid using PMDG's pushback and just simply edit GSX parking spot to match the aircraft and use that pushback instead, much more accurate :) (And unlike you did in this video I don't suck 50 fictional aircraft spotters out for a fictional Sunday photo shoot through my jet intakes and have to explain why they fictionally won't be coming home to feed the flight sim dog...) Ok graphically disturbing, but another great video despite the obvious lol

+g7usl So true. It is impossible to justify why we pay so much more on P3D than FSX, since FSX was discontinued they should be encouraging customers to make the switch to P3D.
Thanks for the review. One thing that usually bugs me when doing an external pan of aircrafts on UA-cam is that most of them are hardly done from ground level, which in reality, well, would be more realistic. Just an observation.

Correct. PMDG are planning to work with other weather engine producers though if they can expose a data connection similar to that provided from with ASN.
Very informative, froogle! I've just purchased this beauty, but I can't seem to activate it for some reason. It keeps saying "cannot connect to activation server". I tried this back on the 18th when it was released, and thought the server may have just been busy. It's been 2 days and I still can't get it to activate :/

Try experiment Throttle Hold ( Don't use Thrust reductionand Thrust accelaration soon )at take-off I'm sure you can introduce some more pleasure on the " Pilotage " as well reduce the Vertical speed AND AVOID EXCEED SPEEDS even if you wish to use Autopilot .... Pease try to " Pilotage " before use AutoPilot...I'm sure that you''ll like that. You're a serious simmer.

Look at the Aerosoft forums.
A "weather" radar detects moisture and precipitation. FSX does not have a mechanism to report to any add-on how much moisture a cloud contains, or whether it is currently raining. This is why it is not possible to develop an accurate weather radar that uses "default weather" - anything shown on the radar is a guess. ASN is currently the only weather engine out there that provides its own API that developers can plug into to find out the specific properties of an individual cloud, and thus render an accurate radar view.

So Aerosoft wants to release a weather radar for each airplane?
REX and PILOT's (FSGlobal series) are making their own weather radar for the PMDG 777. Not sure if/when they'll release it.
Froogle, not sure if this happened to you yet but I found that when loading the 300ER at a payware airport and then turning on the taxi cameras that the amount of memory they use pushed me right away to OOM. I am with you that they are not really very useful for normal use on a flight, although I will say that you should try them for taxi practice and look at the front wheel to mark the point on the VC where the taxi line lines up so you know you are right on it when taxiing without the camera.
OOM's can be due to a whole bunch of things, but most importantly the complexity of your scenery. There's a great discussion about them and how to avoid them in the intro pdf for service pack that's available from the Operations Center app on your PC.

Are you planning in the future to do a crossing of the ocean? That way you could also showcase ETOPS and long range fuel and time control of the PMDG 777, since that would be amazing and would be a clear explanation of how the system works, maybe it can be a fully loaded? Just throwing about ideas and asking whether you will do an explanation of the procedures during a trans oceanic flight.
The 773 expansion's price is really good deal... I'm thinking now to buy ASN.

To anyone who has the 300er can you please check in the PMDG operation center to see if they include the Thai airways livery? That's the only livery I want and Thai airways do have 6 300er in their fleet
Got the 300 and SP1 today. Much better trimming behaviours and FBW. seemingly better performance (fps) too, or is that my imagination?
You're probably going to get a kick out of part 2 where I spend a bit of time specifically looking at Fly By Wire. Performance for me is about the same.
froogle, it might just be me, but it felt like your audio was slightly lagging behind the video.
I had a lot of problems recording this. i recorded it with Nvidia
Shadowplay (which I never usually do) and then had a ton of issues with
the sim sound and my commentary getting wildly out of sync. As a result I
had to manually cut the video in a lot of places and try to line up the
sound by hand. Something's up with my sim here so I'm re-installing
everything late today to get parts 2 and 3 re-recorded and then
uploaded.

RTA is covered in part 2 which will go live later today. It's also covered in FCOMM 2 one of the extensive PDF's supplied with the aircraft.
Sorry for the general question --- during the preparation of the video you have shown a photographic angle that I do not know how you are successful because I am limited to seeing either the captain's chair or the first officer ... Also when you look from the outside you are literally spinning around the plane. That you succeed?

There is an app that gets installed on your PC called the Operations Center. You can find the doucmentation (3000 pages of it) in there.

hi, first all nice aircraft. I bought yesterday and installed it with the service pack sp1c. Now with the 300ER model i have a problem with the external light. They look like a square or some kind of crystal, has anyone encoutered this problem before and knows how the fix this. i have searchedon same forum and they siad reinstall everything, have doen that, didn't seem to work. I ask this queation because i thought maybe some else has the same problems. if you have a solution for this problem i would like too hear it, thanks

Hey just a question- does the landing gear tilt on the exterior view? As far as I'm concerned, the gear comes out in the flat _ position and tilts to the / position to soften landings. If someone can help me that would be nice, sorry if I'm wrong- I'm a noob simmer!!!
It tilts. Then rotates properly on contact with the ground.

Will PMDG make a service pack 2 for the NGX? Alot that came to the 777 that hasn't commed out to the NGX etc, I've heard it will come but not to trusteble to the source!

on the ground below a certain speed (which I can't remember) the 777 will alternate brakes in pairs to reduce the heating. Is this modelled or is this one of the reasons you are finding the brakes heating up quickly. Never had a problem IRL even at high ambient temps.

Hey, I have a question, how do u set up the view of the cockpit? Like the view of FMC, or the view of F0, I think you put it on your joystick.Is that in the original game or you download something else to add more views of the airplane.

most likely it will be along time. Judging by how slow they are to add aircraft to PFPX. I really love both Topcat and PFPX but I still find it hard to believe just how long it takes them to add aircraft, PFPX was without the 772 for soooo long I stopped even checking the forums lol. If it was a freeware program I could understand... but payware?

With the taxi cam, how did you make the nose gear taxi cam to be far away like that? My cam is too close to the gear and all I see is the front gear. lol (watch my taxi cam video for example)

Looks amazing, unfortunately Ryan at PMDG screwed up my copy by having me do a load of reinstalls and deletions of simconnect files to fix a weird PFD bug and now my simconnect won't reinstall like he said it would. He wants me to format my OS drive and reinstall my entire OS... :/ I now have a useless 90 dollar plane where not a single button is clickable and it won't load any aircraft state. Basically I only have part of the exterior model to look at.

when turning 90 degs the plane, the "pilot's" head moves and doesn't come back when the turn ends..the interesting is that, this phenomenon is noticed when flying near the earth equator..i was wondering if you have a solution with that..

Hi froogle I'm a big fan of your videos. I have a laptop I use for flight simming. I don't run fsx since it's my main GPU smelter, however I still run fs2004 maxed out and runs a smooth solid 30fps with my favourite fs addons such as cls 747-200/300 and 767-200-300. It's specs are intel core 2 duo @2.1GHz 3GB ram 320GB HDD and a Radeon HD 3470 graphics card. I really look forward to assembling a PC for fsx as it has my dream exclusive addons. I do some extension work at school and help assemble the schools computers. What parts do you recommend me having to assemble a PC just to run fsx and for a good price that is under $1000. I look forward to your reply:)

Hi Froogle, i am starting out with the PMDG 777 in the next week. i have gained a lot of flying experience with the Aerosoft 320. i dont have pfpx, weather architect; just REX and a few Sceneries.
Do YOU recommend to buy PFPX or an weather Programm for flying the PMDG 777? Am i able to deal with the beast without these programs?

The weather radar is worthless without active sky next, PFPX is not necessary, all you need for planning is Simbrief, to my knowledge PFPX more features, but Simbrief works just as well and is what I use for all my flights with the PMDG 747.
Also Simbrief has SID/STAR support now. Really brought me back into the PMDG :D

I need help with the PMDG 777 and Ezdok. Whenever i taxi or any movement of the aircraft occurs, my ezdok camera changes position and it's truly annoying. I have disabled the momentum affect and turned all the dynamic head movements to 0 as well as disabling xyz effects. Can someone help me?

How is the performance compared to the 737 from PMDG? I have a decent PC with other intensive addons that run fine but with the 737 it's like a slideslow in VC view, I don't want to waste money again if it's the same...
Many people say it's better, many people say it's worse. On the whole for me it's better but somethings up with my sim and it's currently worse.

Hey Frooglesim. I've recently bought the PMDG 777 - 200. Right now, I've been starting to gather as much information as I can to debate in the near future whether I wan't to purchase Prepar3d or not. But my question was… is the PMDG 777 available right now for Prepar3d? If not, do you know if it will be? In the operations center. Click on Docs/Documentation and look at the Intro PDF. It has been updated for service pack 1.

DOn't use simulation rate. The 777 has an automatic time acceleration feature built in. Find the Operations Center that installed, open it up, then read the intro PDF and the tutorial flight.
