Nice work documenting all of this. It was cool to see the new bus median. I hadn't been down that corridor before, and it was at night and rainy when I took it on the 2nd, so I didn't get a good glimpse at the rest of the bus infrastructure that was designed for this. Scott Road seems like a pretty terrible noisy stroad in my first experience, so hopefully the R6, and the potential BRT upgrade, will be an impetus to develop the corridor to be more pedestrian friendly. I'm sure this upgrade means a lot for the commuters in Surrey.
Passing by I noticed that people were walking southbound on the median from the 72nd ave. busstop passed the fence. More will be needed to discourage this dangerous practice. Some signage and maybe a full width planter on the median or a fence "box" might help.
Oh yeah that’s absolutely integral That said with most younger people still being on holidays the effect isn’t as obvious. Wait until January 8 and those bus lanes will really start to take effect. I think it’s best to do a ride video + text commentary, just gotta wait for this rain to clear up.
@@jmstransit they also transferred a lot of Nova buses as well because of this VTC transferred all of their 2009 HEV Novas to RTC HTC transferred a few as well well RTC transferred some their XD40’s to STC as well and transferring some the Novas L Drives back to BTC

Great video. You always have great commentary and it shows you take the effort to get some great footage.

The dip in the median to the south suggests it’s a failsafe to get tow trucks into the median in case something breaks down
Love the R6! I am surprised they made route 323 articulated though. No more artics for 503.
someone said that on paper the 323 has a better schedule than the R1 even with the amount of artics, which is ironic
@@jmstransit indeed that is interesting
The 2 has artics now as well and no more artics for the 240
Select N8 and N22 that come off the 2 are now artics as well.
imagine holding a big event for inagurating an express bus line. even mtl didn't do that for SRB. but the R6 RapidBus looks very cool!!
Thanks for the video, though I wish more of the transit priority on Scott Road itself was shown, since that’s where the majority of the bus lanes are…

@2:48 looks like it barely fits lol
Definitely; look closely and you’ll see the right side mirror of another bus. It was trying to get out too.
Intresting! Since I don't have a lot of time on my hands I couldnt take it :(
Does anyone know when BC Transits Proterra ZX5 busses will be delivered. Also I don’t normally see the 2022 XDE60s rapid bus units
Order was reassigned to Nova/NFI. Can’t recall which one though.
Were you on 18052 on the 1st by any chance? I saw someone recording and I think it's you.
no
Unique route rider recorded B18052 on the R6
@@JosephLikesTransit I also recorded it, 18052 is famous now
So what happened to the 319?
They still have the 319 the R6 runs beside it now just like how the R4 runs along side the 41 and the R3 runs along side the 701
