How to remove a stuck oil cap

How to remove a stuck oil cap on your car. This is an easy trick to remove a stuck oil cap on your car or on any machine. For that matter this will works on any screw on caps designed to be removed by your hands. Here we have a plastic countersunk oil cap on our 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230K. This particular cap is not straight edged so getting a wrench on it is difficult. This hammer and blunt end screw driver method I have used for years and it works great. Don't they have an updated part?
We had some on another make in the 1980"s like that.
The new part wasn't so prone to get stuck and it seems to me it didn't allow more than just enough.
It had a fat o ring built in to its surface.
