    Daneliya has huge range and can mimic any singer. However if you listen closely. You will hear vocal nuances that you dont hear in Aurora version. Daneliya is a master vocalist . The start of the notes you hear vocal fry . Also the blend is more of a melismatic style . Daneliya takes it to a diffrent level .

    Daneliya's voice is darker than Aurora's. So while they may sing this song the same Aurora will always sound more fragile until Daneliya goes to her head voice, there Daneliya becomes more vulnerable.I t so clean and pure that it always makes me cry.The impact this young lady has had on me has been profound. It has always had my number. I have tried to figure out what exactly it is that touches me that has me reaching for the tissues. I have tried to not cry and she will come on unexpectedly on my playlist and I erupt into tears, I still can't explain it.
    So I just accept the fact that when she sings I am going to have tears.

    I really appreciate your reaction. You're quite right that Daneliya's cover stays very close to Aurora's original, with only a sprinkle of creativity in the final vocal run. I think that was probably due to the fact that she released it as kind of a present to Aurora on her 25th birthday last month, and Daneliya did not want to take much license by making major changes or departures from the original. Usually, Daneliya injects more flourishes, tempo changes, and what not to her covers to make them stand out. Two examples in particular come to mind: (1) her cover of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" in which Daneliya completely transforms/reinterprets the song from an up-tempo, 'poppy' and rather commercial offering (no disrespect to KP intended) into a reflective ballad about teenage angst while transitioning to adulthood - an amazing metamorphosis (ua-cam.com/video/aIuSLXYI-xg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DaneliyaTuleshova); and (2) "Diamonds" (Sam Smith cover) - almost unrecognizable from Sam Smith's great original; you'd have to listen to them back-to-back to see what I mean - (ua-cam.com/video/WAy0pT3Msc0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DaneliyaTuleshova)

      Based on your response to me above, I listened to both of these. The Katy Perry cover definitely shows a bit more creativity, but, again, mostly at the end. She does indeed transform the whole song into something more like a Lana Del Rey ballad. It is only the last verse that she really makes it truly plaintive and reflective, though. If the whole song had more of that, I would have thought it was really great! The Diamonds cover was much better. She really made the whole song her own, instead of just parts of it.I hope she does more covers where she puts this kind of passion into the performance, instead of just a nice sounding cover, like the Aurora one.
      She does have a great voice and really wonderful control. It is possible that her style just may not be one that I love, but based on the potential I see from these two performances, I'll definitely pay attention to what else she releases in hopes that something will really grab me.

      @@DanloRingess Thanks for taking the time to listen and respond with your thoughtful comments. Daneliya is quite young ( just turning 15 y.o.) and is still finding her artistic feet, as it were (I recall her admitting this herself in a recent interview, which kinda shocked me - a remarkable level of self-awareness). She's not completely there yet, but has great potential IMHO. She's got all the necessary ingredients - natural talent; a mature, rounded timbre; strong vocal technique; and a strong work ethic and dedication to her craft. BTW, Daneliya just dropped a new cover yesterday - "Friends" (by Chase Atlantic) - ua-cam.com/video/XumcoQXVLEc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DaneliyaTuleshova

      @@RedRider1848 Thanks for the suggestion. Friends was decent, but not great. I honestly think my issue with her is probably more the covers she chooses than almost anything else. They just aren't necessarily songs that I'm overly fond of in many cases. (Though I do love Aurora, so it wasn't that with this one.) I just listened to her cover of Take Me to Church. While I'm not a big Hozier fan, that was actually outstanding! It really fits her voice and style well, I think. I'll definitely pay more attention to Daneliya in the future. I suspect she has done some other covers that I'll like better as well.

    Yes Daneliya is super talented but I have to disagree with your comment that this is the same as the original by Aurora. I've listened to both several times back to back and both are fantastic artists not forgetting the fact that Aurora was I believe 21 when she first recorded this track and Danelia is a few days away from her 15th birthday. The two versions are completely different other than its the same lyrics and for me I prefer Daneliya's cover because I like her vocals better, however both are great.

      @@popcola1462 First of all, I would question your assertion that "autotune can make anyone sound good". It's true that autotune, and sound editing in general, will usually make a vocal better, but these editing tools are not 'miracle workers'; the raw vocal has to be good to start with, in order for any enhancement to make it better. If it's "garbage in", it will be "garbage out", no matter how much electronic treaking is done. Secondly, you would be hard pressed to find a single studio recording (from any singer) that hasn't been massaged to one extent or another.
      More specifically about Daneliya, if you listen to her live performances, you can hear for yourself the natural, unenhanced quality of her vocals. Take for instance her rendition of Kaleo's "Way Down We Go", which she performed on an outdoor stage in the parking lot of a local shopping mall in her home town of Almaty, Kazakhstan when she was only 12 y.o. Sure, the music and the vocal backing track (which she pre-recorded herself) are 'canned', but listen closely to her lead vocals which are completely live and unfurbished, and you'll see what I mean - ua-cam.com/video/VEEUvoH60ic/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DaneliyaTuleshova. Or her more recent live performance of "How Far I'll Go" (from the Disney movie Moana). She sings the version in the Kazakh language - ua-cam.com/video/a0h3WI5NRGA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DaneliyaTuleshova.

    Daneliya NEVER tries to "imitate" other artists! She always does her own thing and interprets the songs she sings as she believes she hears them. She is always true to her own voice and what you are hearing is her real voice. Daneliya is on another level when comes to signing, in fact she is beyond Aurora and this version sounds very different from the original, in fact sound like Aurora try to copy her. The difference is Aurora sounds like a little girl and Daneliya like a 30 years old professional singer. Daneliya sound makes souls dream and Aurora's sound almost the same on every song or like when you step on a cat's tail. Daneliya has the capability to make any cover song her own and better than the original. The original song boring to the souls and Daneliya's version make souls think. Daneliya is a professional singer with an unique voice like no other.

  • @ianagirue

    I never comment on videos, but Aurora’s original version is much better. This version sounds like so many other modern singers. She’s technically great, but I’m not intrigued by her, and don’t want to seek out more. My husband (an audio engineer) heard this coming out of my phone and said, “Ew. What are you listening to?!” He’s become sick of hearing the same stuff from singers. So, yes, she’s technically REALLY good, but I won’t remember her tomorrow.

  • @DanloRingess
    @DanloRingess 3 роки тому

    Edit: Several people have pointed out her age in relation to my comments. That is certainly fair. Performers such as Angelina Jordan have set the bar really high and it probably isn't fair to evaluate everyone in comparison to that. For a 14-15 year old, Daneliya's performances are pretty damn impressive and I expect she will get even better over time.
    I think you are getting a feeling for who she is. Daneliya has a great voice, but she hasn't done a lot that is truly interesting that I have heard so far. She sounds a bit different than Aurora on this song. But, it isn't a really special cover, just workmanlike and, as you said, flawless. That doesn't infuse it with the soul that Aurora puts into the original, though. Or, for that matter, what someone like Angelina Jordan, who really arranges songs that she covers in her own way, would likely do with it. All that Daneliya did was just add some vocal trills/runs here and there. I would love to hear her do something original and/or really creative. She seems to have the vocal skill to be able to. Maybe she just needs a better producer to work with?

      @@steadyturtle7002 I'll agree that she did change it a bit more than I admitted. However, it feels a bit uninspired. It is just a very basic cover by someone with a wonderful voice. I want to like her so much more than I do based on the few performances I've heard from her so far. I'll check out some of the other performances that someone else mentions below in hopes of having my mind changed. She does have a really great voice and obvious technical skill. I'd just like to see a bit more imaginative use of all of that.

    • @DanloRingess
      @DanloRingess 3 роки тому

      @@guyfromnp Technically flawless doesn't always make for a great performance, though, unfortunately. Great voice, skillful use of it, but nothing to recommend it over the original for me. This is unlike someone like Angelina Jordan, Diana Ankudinova, Dimash Kudaibergen, a group like Pentatonix or Home Free, etc. that use their abilities in more creative and imaginative ways. If you are going to do a cover, it better bring something really new to the table, I think. It doesn't have to be "better" than the original, but should be really great on its own. Unfortunately, for me, this performance wasn't there.
