Over 550 million views of this video should tell you that this artist is special, and to think she wrote this at the age of 11/12 years is astonishing but the fact that she started writing songs at the age of 9 especially one called Lucky which you should definitely react to because trust me it’s a masterpiece and her live performance of Lucky at the nidarosdomen cathedral is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful emotional moments ever, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Aurora live 3 times and at my age of 66 I have seen scores of artists live but no one has come close to moving my emotions like Aurora,I’ve no hesitation in saying she’s the best live performer I’ve ever seen it’s the only way to see her for you get to see the whole package of this Genius of an artist,Aurora has a catalog of songs with lyrics that make you think deeply about life and the world we live in but what I love is that she has never craved to become a mainstream artist she has always stayed true to herself and what she believes music should be all about for her music is a medicine for everyone and I for one am blessed to have her music her words of poetry her medicine in my life.she she simply is a Genius ❤️
As a little girl she spent a lot of time in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been special. She was terrified of performing at first as you can see in the source of this video at the Noble Peace Prize concert. For a happier Aurora watch Cure For Me and Queendom. I love her at Rough Trade East, London, with her song Heathens which she dedicates to “. . . the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven.” A comforting belief.😊
Awesome to see this amazing artist find her way to your channel, John! 👍🤟 She's fantastic live, and you'll get a lot of great suggestions. But since you said you'd like to see this live, I hope you do the Nobel Peace Prize version of Runaway next, just to make the comparison. That's perhaps her most popular live performance anyway. It's a great intro to Aurora live.
I so hope you venture down the Aurora rabbit hole. I adore her music...and her as a person. Runaway is FAR and away her biggest song.....but I'd rank it as her 15th best song, at most. Top tracks, for me, would be Lucky(live at Nidarosdomen), Wake Up(a demo), A Different Kind of Human, The Woman I Am, All is Soft Inside, Giving in to the Love, Winter Bird, I Went Too Far, Soulless Creatures, Infections of a Different Kind, Little Boy in the Grass(live at Nidarosdomen), annnd I need to stop or else I'll just keep going forever lol. She's especially amazing live....especially that Nidarosdomen show. It's easily one of the top 5 concerts I've ever seen, and I've seen Tool and The White Stripes _in person_ whereas I only saw Nidarosdomen on my laptop w headphones! But it's _that_ good. It was actually my first introduction to Aurora...on March 15, 2020. I remember the date because of how impactful that whole concert was. It left me with my jaw on the floor and my brain buzzing with inspired possibility and emotionally cathartic hope. I'm legit grateful she even exists....
Great reaction, and welcome to the Aurora rabbit hole because you'll be going down it and loving every minute of it. Her live performances are better than her music videos because she totally owns her performances. Since you just experienced her official "Runaway" video, perhaps watching her perform it live would be good for you. May I suggest her show at the Honda Stage singing this song. You won't be able to take your eyes off her. Search for : Aurora - Runaway (Live on the Honda Stage). And yes, she writes and produces all her songs. "Runaway" was written when she was eleven years old. She began teaching herself piano when she was six, wrote her first song "Lucky" when she was nine, and she has never had a music lesson.
She has such an enchanting tone as if it teleport soul to some outwordly place And fr me it is some kind of a,kingdom like narnia .😅. And eyes just naturally closes as sound feels,so hypnotizing.... Its ethereal.. 😌
Her voice and sound has matured so much since that first album, if you think her music from 2015 is impressive i cant wait to see how you feel about her music from 2018-2022
I highly recommend you fall down the rabbit hole Aurora travels through. She writes, sings and composes all her own music. Live, well , you'll be amazed. Better then studio. But I really recommend listening to her covers. Check out her cover of Teardrop from Massive Attack. She has one of the most unique & genuinely purest voices you'll ever listen to. Food for your soul.
Not everyone can write ones owns song at age 10 or 11 and get about 1 billion likes on social media. like her music or not, but she is extremly talented. great reaction !
Aurora really is her own genre of music. Every song is different and her live material is mind blowing. Yes, she writes, composes and produces her music. She feels every single note when she sings live. I agree with many of the comments that “5,4,3,2,1 (Murder Song)” from the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is a must. I would also suggest “It Happened Quiet” live at the Current. Both songs show the depth of her storytelling, maturity and versatility. If you want to go down this rabbit hole you will not be disappointed and many of us “warriors and weirdos” will be quite happy to offer listening suggestions. She has also done multiple cover songs that will probably make you forget about the original. In many ways I almost feel like she is a once in a lifetime artist like Ren (not saying that from a musical style perspective but in the fact that they both WILL make you feel something).
She has a lovely duet with Pomme in 'Everything Matters' where Pomme wrote the last verse, en français naturellement. ua-cam.com/video/yX8bYwl9rKc/v-deo.html .
Omg this brings me back to when I found her when I was my last year secondary school in 2016, nostalgic feelings here haha I also definitely recommend you one of her more recent songs Storm that features the Taiwanese singer Wu Qing Feng (please check out the original version😁)
Awesome! I came to this channel because you were reacting to one of my favorite bands Babymetal, now your reacting to another one of my favorite artist Aurora! Like Babymetal's fan base "The One" Aurora's fan base "Warriors and Weirdos" are just as passionate and helpfully informative. Good news is her live performances tend to actually be better than the studio recordings, though she also has some very awesome videos and she seems to be pretty non-block friendly. Live: I recommend this song "Runaway" at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert and from the same concert "Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)" and also very impressively "Wardruna and Aurora - Helvegen (Live)" I recommend these official videos before you do them live, "The Seed," "Animal" and "Cure for me" Looking forward to going down the Aurora rabbit hole with you!
In my mind, she's a mix of Bjork, and Delores from the Cranberries. My advice to you is to look at all the songs/performances suggested, and pick a couple of the less popular requests. Aurora has so much to offer, and I feel like people only recommend the same 3 or 4 songs. Obviously, all of the songs are amazing, but I feel like people miss out on some of the true gems when they go with the most popular requests.
I really like the reaction of someone who has a different perspective on different genres of music and that's where you are man keep it up i would love to see more reactions my dude
Yes, spot on, the key to understanding this special person is "different". Her songs are all different and each performance is adapted to her current mood. Often you see her totally inside her song, the transition back into our world being visible. That is why live is best. Her lyrics reflect her different take on the world. A truly special person. Try her three performances at The Nobel Peace Prize concert (perhaps Murder Song) before her masterpiece Concert at Nidarosdomen.
Aurora is soooooo good! My favorite song of hers is It Happened Quiet ua-cam.com/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/v-deo.html Another awesome song where she is a support singer with Wardruna is this one. ua-cam.com/video/FnkTuHP9q3o/v-deo.html
oh yeah, her live is amazing. One of my favorite "Aurora - Full Performance (Live on KEXP)", it's kinda short, but so good. There are songs: Churchyard, Gentle Earthquake, All Is Soft Inside, Runaway, Forgotten Love, Queendom. I am new her fan. I am playing game Sky and they had collaboration with her and made entire season of aurora, plus virtual concert. That's how i find her. IDK how i never hear her, i must live under the rock 😆
She is pretty versatile and if you would like to check live energy it depends from concert and songs :). But she is very expressive and live her music during live shows and I love her live performances. She has multiple recording of this songs live (including Nobel Prize Concert - BTW she wrote Runaway when was 11). I also like how her performances and concerts has often particular "vibes". For example Nidorasdomen concert (1h of pure magic) has own vibe - it is emotional concert with orchestra. Whole concert is incredible but I would recommend song Lucky (which she wrote when was 9) and Through the Eyes of the Child. But if you would check KEXP 2018 mini concert she is like a geyser of energy and it is more upbeat: I recommend All Is Soft Inside and Churchyard from this mini concert. Honda Stage is another concert and there she sound a _little_ more "rock-ish" especially in the song "Under the Water" - I also recommend "I went too far" from this concert. In live session in "The Current" she sounds differently again (I recommend "It happened Quiet" as a example). She has of course much more interesting concert and many live sessions just wanted to mention that she does not do everything every time in the same way. She has even multiple versions of her songs with different arrangements or details or feelings. And it is very cool.
You can't go wrong with Aurora. Her videos have excellent production values, but with her live songs you get the emotions through her entire body. Stunning!
I've not seen anything from her in a long time, but I seem to remember running into material from her years ago when she was younger... Amazing talent!
No matter what genre you're into , and I'm mostly into metal , aurora hits that intense soft indie electro spot. Her voice is ethereal. This song has me sobbing every time I hear it. It hits sooooo hard ✨️
Gonna go see if you have any other reactions to her music but I bet you'd like Queendom and Running with the wolves. Her voice, literally, always sends shivers down my spine, in the best way possible...
She has an amazing stage presence - I find listening to her songs is always better when you can watch as well as listen. Saw her live last year and it was an amazing concert.
I am glad you started reacting to Aurora. She really is very unique and many appreciate the purines and sincerity in her performance and the songs messages in general You definitely need to check out „The seed“ , „Murder song“, „Daydreamer“ and „The river“. If you want a really nice medley with all her best songs you can also just simply listen to „Aurora Haik Concert“. Then you covered the most important parts and also get a really great understanding of her style. This Haik Concert was actually how I found her and it was the perfect entry for me.

Nice reaction! Live versions of Aurora is the way to go. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Aurora👍👍
She's fantastic live, and you'll get a lot of great suggestions. But since you said you'd like to see this live, I hope you do the Nobel Peace Prize version of Runaway next, just to make the comparison. That's perhaps her most popular live performance anyway. It's a great intro to Aurora live.
Wardruna, Aurora and Oslo Fagottkor: “Helvegen”. Look that up. It is other worldly. It’s live and it’s awesome. You need to check it out.
Everything she touches is just pure gold let it be interviews, covers or her own songs.
Her voice is magical for sure. Glad you watched! You should find her live stuff and react to it.
Aurora's voice is gorgeous. I fell in love with her Running with Wolves and was caught from there.
Same!! I love her voice! I love Winter Bird too!!
🎉THANK YOU for reacting to our beautiful Aurora 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
She has such an enchanting tone as if it teleport soul to some outwordly place And fr me it is some kind of a,kingdom like narnia .😅. And eyes just naturally closes as sound feels,so hypnotizing.... Its ethereal.. 😌
Yes! She writes her own songs since she was like 6/7. She’s self taught
Please check out Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) live at the Nobel Peace Prize concert! Live is usually always better with Aurora!
My fathers country, Norway, is beautiful and mystical. Aurora represents that magical quality with the nordic style of singing ♥
Her voice and sound has matured so much since that first album, if you think her music from 2015 is impressive i cant wait to see how you feel about her music from 2018-2022
she is magic
I highly recommend you fall down the rabbit hole Aurora travels through. She writes, sings and composes all her own music. Live, well , you'll be amazed. Better then studio. But I really recommend listening to her covers. Check out her cover of Teardrop from Massive Attack. She has one of the most unique & genuinely purest voices you'll ever listen to. Food for your soul.
Not everyone can write ones owns song at age 10 or 11 and get about 1 billion likes on social media. like her music or not, but she is extremly talented. great reaction !
Her live version of this at the Nobel ceremony is special.
So many talented young singers from Norway : Aurora, Angelina Jordan... Thanks for your reaction John. Greetings from France, Gilles 🎶🎙️🖐️
She has a lovely duet with Pomme in 'Everything Matters' where Pomme wrote the last verse, en français naturellement. ua-cam.com/video/yX8bYwl9rKc/v-deo.html .
Norway have som amazing artist: Aurora, Angelina Jordan, Sigrid ..... and you remember AHA. and a lot more ... 😊😊
Oh????? WHAT??? Reaction to aurora??? my fairy🥰
Got to hear her live in 2019, I had chills the entire time, she’s even better in person, her vocals and talent is truly somthing
Omg this brings me back to when I found her when I was my last year secondary school in 2016, nostalgic feelings here haha
I also definitely recommend you one of her more recent songs Storm that features the Taiwanese singer Wu Qing Feng (please check out the original version😁)
Live: I recommend this song "Runaway" at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert and from the same concert "Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)" and also very impressively "Wardruna and Aurora - Helvegen (Live)"
I recommend these official videos before you do them live, "The Seed," "Animal" and "Cure for me"
Looking forward to going down the Aurora rabbit hole with you!
Yes! I love Aurora, her songs and voice is amazing and beautiful. She is so unique. Her interviews are also interesting and her persona aswell
Her live version of Massive Attack's " Teardrop" or any KEXP performance. She does not disappoint.
Aurora is truly unique.💜
She is beautiful and sing like an angel. Very unusual. I love her very much.
There aren't too many Americans who haven't heard her, they just don't realize it. She sang the chants in Frozen 2.
Her song conquerer is amazing
This girl is a fuqn world treasure, like a quirky eccentric angel come to life ...nothing but luv for Aurora
I really like the reaction of someone who has a different perspective on different genres of music and that's where you are man keep it up i would love to see more reactions my dude
First time here and the FF7 overworld theme was the final touch that made me sub. Great channel! I can see why you're almost 100k.
She does a live version of this at the 2016 nobel peace prize ceremony. It is magical!
She's the only singer nowadays that can give me goosebumps...
This song was composed by Aurora when she was 11 years old
Aurora is soooooo good! My favorite song of hers is It Happened Quiet ua-cam.com/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/v-deo.html
Another awesome song where she is a support singer with Wardruna is this one. ua-cam.com/video/FnkTuHP9q3o/v-deo.html
Agree with you for her song "It happened quiet" (live at Current). That's a wonderful performance from Aurora
I love this song
Reminds me of First Aid Kit, but so much more impressive because Aurora is harmonizing with her own vocals!
Reaction "Walking in the air" - Aurora
oh yeah, her live is amazing.
Stunning!
Shes a genius and all her albums are
conseptalbums(Pop prog)❤
She did this live at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Check it out.
I just LOVE her voice - it’s so peaceful and crisp! She did a cover of Across the Universe by the Beatles which was just mind-blowing!
I've not seen anything from her in a long time, but I seem to remember running into material from her years ago when she was younger... Amazing talent!
The Seed by Aurora (Live) is amazing
i love "boxes" (live) or recorded. she does have some really powerful live performances (there was a philharmonic one i think?- classy
She’s amazing. We saw her in Las Vegas last year. It was magical 🎉
Definitely check out her live performances. I'd pick Nobel Peace Prize concert one and for 100% raw without effects the NPR music tiny desk concert.
I am glad you started reacting to Aurora. She really is very unique and many appreciate the purines and sincerity in her performance and the songs messages in general
You definitely need to check out „The seed“ , „Murder song“, „Daydreamer“ and „The river“.
If you want a really nice medley with all her best songs you can also just simply listen to „Aurora Haik Concert“. Then you covered the most important parts and also get a really great understanding of her style. This Haik Concert was actually how I found her and it was the perfect entry for me.
For a live performance, you can listen : "It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current)" or the same song live at Nidarosdomen. Two amazing live :)
Rabbit hole. All good.
She gives me chills with the magical way she can manipulate her instrument!
I got to watch her perform this song live in March this year. it so magical and beautiful it took you into another world, it made the studio version sound like nothing.
She is the very definition of an artist. Her vocals are a beautiful instrument, and her writing is just the icing on the cake.
