Things like brakes, suspension, interior, etc have the entire Miata aftermarket community behind them, the engine is popular enough to have plenty of support, and the transmission is from the NC. Part of why I bought my 124 Abarth was that it's rare but most parts should be cheap/easy to get!
I got in minor fender bender. Other driver at fault. He rear ended me at like 5 mph. The damage is $4,600 🫠 1 year later, still not fixed. 3 fiat dealers are unhelpful. Never had a problem with parts prices. Most of the parts are ND Miata aside from the trans which is NC. The engine is used in just about every Fiat model and some Chrysler vehicles. Never had any problems getting any engine part. Just don't buy stuff from the dealer.
I've had my 2017 classica for over a year now and it was & still is the best choice for me. Coming from a 7th Gen civic tuned with kpro. It's objectively slow but feels quick. Was looking at 370z's, RSX's, BRZ's and mustangs but none could give me everything I wanted for under $23k with low miles; 24,000ish. You can easily add carplay/android auto easily with a firmware hack or a $50 retrofit. But ended up replacing the whole thing with a chinese android headunit. Put a subwoofer in the trunk. And upgraded to an autoricambi exhaust. I love this car to death. No issues so far.
Owner here. It has 3 glove boxes. One behind the shoulder which he shows and 2 more secret compartments behind the seats (one per seat). Thieves don't know about those two.
I love my 124 Spider! Parts should not be an issue. Lots on used market from salvage vehicles. If engine goes on me I’ll drop a Miata engine in its place. I will be picking up a second one when prices drop in winter (Hopefully…)
I have a Fiat 124 S design and I absolutely love it. After driving it nearly 7k miles it has not missed a beat. For the price I paid I dont think you can have more fun in a car for the price, 6 speed manual, rwd, garrett turbo, you can get it sideways around any corner you want, its so so good! I dont think ill ever get rid of it
I LOVE my classica! I’ve had several different roadsters and I’ve never loved one like I LOVE the classica. I sort of bought it on a whim not knowing what to do with a 2003 vw beetle convertible I inherited. I like the vw but not the complexity of things going wrong. Ended up with an offer on the vw I could not refuse from a man looking for one for his daughter and then I saw the classica on a lot. They had 2 124s. Both 2020. Both brand new. A lusso and the classica. And being that fiat was discontinuing the spider I was even more interested in them as they had a limited run in the USA and were somewhat unique. As I wanted this as a long term keeper the lusso kind of turned me off with the moving headlights and such. Just seemed like stuff to break that would be way expensive and complex to repair, which I had already faced with with vw. So I test drove the classica. It had exactly 4 miles on it. And oh I fell in love. Bought it that day. I did notice some of his complaints about laggyness, till I wore the engine in. Now at 18,000 miles with everything nicely worn in every time I drove it I love it more. The car loves to be pushed. It loves to be played with. And it just keeps giving more and more and more fun! And now that they are no longer available, I love it even more. People ask all the time what’s that? Only 6500 sold in the USA. And they think if cost twice what it did. And I have to say. There is just something to be said about the feeling of saying, yeah I love my Italian roadster! I know it’s a Mazda with a Chrysler engine. But to me it’s an Italian sport car dream come true. Never have I loved a car so much. It’s just fun pure and simple. And in closing. Ummm. Who is your barber? He slipped with the razor on your right side. And oh my what was he thinking in the rest? German engineering costs too much and breaks too much. And if you have to remove a fender to change a lightbulb, my cousin's EOS, that is not a well engineered vehicle in my book.
In 2017 early March I saw a video review of the new Fiat 124 Spyder Abarth. The reviewer loved the car & watching the video got me to a nearby ( when Fiat was still here ) Fiat / Alfa Romeo dealer. Sitting in their lot was a nice white 2017 124 Spyder Abarth. So I took it for a test ride. The thing I noticed right away was how heavy the clutch pedal felt. Also the engine throttle response was delayed from turbo lag as I hit stop lights. The shifter also had a tight gate to it & it had a weird shape to it. I stalled 2 times thinking I was in 1st but it was really 3rd. Not impressed by the test drive. Next day I was at the Mazda dealer. They had a White 2016 MX-5 Club soft top with the Brembo / BBS package looking very close to the options on the 124. The MX-5 Club has a super light clutch pedal with a Ball shifter that felt good in the hand. Throttle response was instant & shifting thru the gears was a blast. Its been 6 years & that MX-5 Club soft top now sits in my garage ! For me driving both of these cars showed a Big difference in how they drove. No question the MX-5 had what I wanted in a roadster. Its been a great car & easy to work on. The after market parts are well made & adding an active exhaust system really made it sound so much better. I do my own oil changes & change out the wheels / tires from summer performance to winter performance. Mazda really did a great job on the roadster.
Hi man, I’m very happy to see how much you love your Fiat 124. I’m about to purchase my one, here in Italy. So, would you recommend to buy it? Ah, one thing: it actually has Fiat Engine (and not a Chrysler one). Fiat as manufacturer of engine is very reliable. Greetings from Italy, man!

I would so rather have a Honda S2000
❤️❤️❤️
I can’t believe that it only has a 1.4 L engine lol🤣🤣
It has a turbo so it’s pretty zippy!
All Abarths since the 500, are all 1.4 engine and turbocharged. They go from 135bhp to 190bhp from factory.
You will realise it's quite fast when your wig blows off.

TACOCAT ROCKS!!!
Got it from my favorite restaurant, Chuys!
Extremely biased and inaccurate information !
Worst review ever. 🤦🏼♂️ ther frost reason not to buy is literally just him being to scared to drive it around bigger cars
buy a toyota final
i was gonna buy one. i test drove it.
terrible car. harsh suspension. motor has no torque and is a nightmare in traffic. needs a 2.0 t motor and softer suspension
@@derstrohmann7450 the motor is crap and is a nightmare in trafic the manual is.
the suspension made me feel sick
i've driven over 4 million miles in my life and have drive daily non stop since 1980. i know if a car is any good or not.
this fiat thing is not good. well the motor and suspension are not good
@@derstrohmann7450 ask yourself why nobody bought it?
it had a 2.0 turbo i rekon it would have sold like hotcakes.
1.4t motor is too weak on the low rpm to daily drive this thing.
i own a new chevy camaro ss now and love it.
@@derstrohmann7450 same here in sweden. but
not too bad here. road tax is only 350 euros a year for me camaro and cheap to insure.
You are the very 1st person that I ever heard saying that.
Why does it need a 2 litre engine? Abarth knows very well what they are doing.
@@isaachunt5799Many people have bought this car and still look for them.
Why is it hard to drive this car as a daily?
Enjoy pride month
There is only ONE reason not to buy a Fiat 124 Abarth: becausee 124 Lusso is much more attractive. The Abarth is hideous.
The lusso looks feminine. Says a lot about you.
Get an 80s Fiat 124 if you want a real one
