Health science student here! Melanotan explanation: basically, humans have around the same number of melanocytes with some variation(cells that produce melanin-our skin color) in our bodies. What differentiates one person from the other is the amount of melanin and the type of melanin we produce(determined by genetics). melanotan binds to our melanin cells(melanocytes) and stimulates the production of melanin, making the skin look darker. I’m not sure if it’s very safe to use because doctors don’t really know the long lasting effects on the skin yet
What i noticed is when bm date out they date ww who try to look black. When bw date out we look natural and the wm are white as hell. Bw and wm have true love for each other. Thats why ww are jealous because they have to look like us to get a bm

This video was so needed Chioma!!!! It’s so frustrating that it’s right in our faces and so many of us choose to not wake up & acknowledge that we are something special and we need to ban together. Tbh I’m not sure if we’ll all be able to stick together, naturally I do believe some just go against the grain; with that being said if we really put effort into healing I do believe we’d be a force to be reckoned with & I think that’s known worldwide! Hence them pushing the agenda for us to fight/hate each other regardless of where we are from America, African, Latin America etc. We are bonded that’s a fact, I don’t think we need to be besties with every person that looks like us but if we stuck together and gatekept *if that’s a word lol* the way other communities do when something disrespectful or harmful happens to us a huge shift would happen. I definitely see it happening to a certain extent a lot of us are waking up but it won’t happen overnight either. Just remember blacks worldwide are the blueprint period. 💕
blackfishing changes what it means to be black for mixed people. Sometimes I can’t even tell the difference between white people and mixed people when it didn’t use to be like this. Back then before it was cool to be black, in a lot of cases you could definitively tell if a mixed person was in fact mixed
Another 🔥 video... You make me proud! We need more young women like you! Keep bringing awareness to the fuckery that is our society and it's standards or lack there of!
Man I am so tired of Blackfishing, brownfishing yellowfishing Men pretending to be women, by womenfishing. Women pretending to be men, by menfishing. Gender appropriation and culture appropriation. The mental illness is at an all time high.
To be honest I really think black people should learn how to love and wear our Afros ! Thats the only thing that can’t be replicated is our natural hair and it drags attention automatically… the day that we can walk around in our Afros together is the day that we will dominate ❤!!
It absolutely can and has been replicated lol. Look back at the 70s through now. Even in some Asian countries, there is a genre of people who will dress like us mimicking the afro hair texture
But notice how all these women who are “blackfishing” all have the options to go buy type 4 Afro hair, but they never do 🤔 they technically could copy that too, but they don’t. And I feel the reason for that is because looking unambiguously black isn’t the goal for these women. It’s mixed fishing. And a lot of black people don’t consider mixed people to be black.....I find that interesting
It would be on thing if this was Felicia from Philly but these dipped in chocolate women are getting paid for it. She gets paid to pretend to look like us.
Yep black women are the most beautiful women in the world. I gate keep I call them out. Sorry but I'm a real black woman, black parents and black grandparents. Don't try to mimic me without my permission. "How rude"
Great video, Chioma! You broke it all down really well and I'm so glad we're on the same page. Like you stated, the blackfishers are able to get away with this because self-hate if the root of the problem in the blk community. And when you add a lack of unity to that issue, outsiders will infiltrate and run amok. Applause to you for continuing to bring this obsessive behavior to the forefront.
OK I'm mixed and I am 48 and am so tiered of people pretending to mixed or multiracial. We all don't look a certain way. I have dealt with colorism my whole life. Being born with yellow undertone skin and red blonde thin curly hair. Even though I carry certain traits from my dad my complexion isn't. I have cousins that mixed who are lighter then me as well as some who look like they are either full black or Spanish. It's hard enough for people like me that don't "Look mixed enough" and people that pretend to be make it ten times harder for us. I use to hate the way I looked because I always had to fight to prove what I was instead of people just wanting to get to know me for the person I am. I don't know how many times my dad had to go off on a teacher or someone for trying to tell me I wasn't mixed. Even in my later years I got so tiered of people in my own family that came at me after my father died. I don't wish what I went through on anyone. I got a DNA test done after my dad had passed away because of a family member that was supposed to love me turn on me. Alot of people don't realize what there doing and how much harder it makes it for mixed people that don't look mixed like I do. Sorry for the rant but this hits close to home for me. I just wish people could love themselves instead of trying to be something there not. I haven't been a member of your channel for a very long time but I like your content and so do my daughters 😊
@@melaninmonroeeee Lol...Yes that's me. That picture is a few years back but I still look the same. I'm also a grandma to two beautiful grand babies by my oldest who just turned 29 😊
@Lynn Xo sounds like a beautiful mix.. and that is what I meant by Latina looking.. the white girls actually want to look mixed looking because it is in between
@Lynn Xo it is crazy in so many ways. As soon as people would see my father they would assume he was my step father. Then when I tell them everything I am I get the side look and the "Well you don't look it" If you go by appearance my father is a black man and my mother is a white women. Yet my Ethnicities are Capeverd which is a mix of Black and Portuguese, Italian, Native American and Black separate from what's in the Capeverd. Life wasn't easy but I grew up around my Capeverd family and my Italian family. Yet it was my Capeverd side that I was surrounded by daily. I'm whole mixed mess 😂 Yet I'm OK with that. But for a long time I didn't like myself. I always wished I looked more mixed then what I was because I was tiered of people always trying to tell me I wasn't mixed. I felt bad for my cousins and my dad who always had to set someone straight that was older then me. It was my dad that taught me that I could never love what I was if I didn't love who I was. Although I had mixed cousins they seemed to find there way through but I had a hard time. All because of a Cop that tried to arrest my dad when I was five because he was holding my hand as we were walking to the store to go get me some candy. That before that I didn't see people as different. Yet that day I found out what racism and a colorism was. That's when everything changed for me. Although my mother wasn't the best mother to me I was blessed to have an amazing father who raised me whole life even when my mother and dad separated because she did him wrong and went on her way. It was my father who was both my mom, dad and my very best friend. It's funny that the same things as dealt with as a child are still the same things I'm dealing with today. People are still amazed when one of my family members calls me there cousin to there friends or when one of my uncles or aunts say I'm there niece. The expressions on there faces are always priceless. Some people can tell I'm mixed when they see me and some aren't sure what to make of me while others just go by my complexion. People usually judge a book by the cover until they open the book.
When I was younger, I always believed that female Black Americans (now known as African Americans) were all like Halle Berry and Thandi Newton because that was what was shown in movies and Tv shows as the black woman representation It was literally only around 2010 when social media became a thing that I realized that there actually were black women from America who looked like me and in fact, they were the majority. Representation matters Black people don't hate each other - ok, there are a couple of rotten potatoes but for the most part..we love ourselves and our features (ok..in Africa where I'm based) and we gatekeep our blackness. In South Africa, the moment you're mixed with any other race i.e. if your great-grandfather is non-black then you are "coloured" until your phenotype is black (including the hair) It's unfortunate that Americans still have to fight to be seen
Girrlll, as a fellow mzanzian, I beeeeeen saying this. Americans are crraayzee, I wouldn't consider Meghan Markle as black. If she was South African she'd be straight up coloured😂 Since they love categorizing things so much, they should have better classification systems for black people because wow. Their media be confusing their people too much
I’m in one of those blk women’s only groups on Facebook, there was a post about non blk women being in the group. I mentioned that this group openly allows non black women ( the biracials, yts, Indians etc) when they could make their own spaces without invading ours. I also mentioned that I define blackness by having two black parents or 1 half black parent + 1 black parent to be considered black. I was called being anti black, insecure and racist 🤷🏽♀️ by blk women. And then was called Ms. light skin, when I’m indeed a brown skinned woman. The blk women that attacked me pulled the whole “all black people are mixed because of slavery) bs. One mixed woman reacted with an emotional comment about not being accepted by her Jewish counterparts and so that’s why she claim only one side. Honestly, I think it should be considered a mental illness for people to deny themselves of their entire identity and to portray as another. There’s nothing wrong with being mixed. As big as a deal as the blk community hyped up the mixed kids growing up, you’ll think they’ll be excited to claim being mixed…after all, that’s what society fetishizes. Question, if mixed people can say they’re black without push back, then why can’t black women say we’re white (when there’s a percentage of European in our dna due to our raped enslaved ancestors) ? We would be called deranged and delusional…. and that’s how I see mixed women claiming to be a black woman.
I've just started taking photos and sharing them again, after years of not wanting to, because I decided to "go natural" in 2011. When I made the decision, for one thing, I didn't know that things like BBLs and glowups were going to be taking off at that same time. Two, I thought that my decision would transform me from a previously frustrated weave wearer to a beautiful, flourishing natural. I quickly found out that as a deep brown-skinned, tight 4C with a slim body that I still ended up with hair and body envy. My community has done a great job of calling out my natural beauty. Unfortunately, however, I rarely see it reflected back to me - if ever. I know my lack of baby hairs and regular body ain't it. It never was. I think this mixed fishing will only get worse, because on the other hand black women are consistently moving further away from looks that are associated with being black.
Very well put together Queen Chioma! It is absolutely amazing how beautiful our Black Women are, how white society tried to downplay this natural beauty and NOW they are appreciating it because it trendy. Black Women's beauty is enduring and natural. They will either hate you or envy you for it. As a Black Man, I appreciate ALL beauty in women, but a Black Woman's beauty is deeper, richer and enduring. My mother-in-law is 78 years old and barely has a wrinkle. All of the women in my family look on average, 7-10 years younger than they really are.
Interesting take on this subject matter. Blackfishing is definitely wrong, messed up and weird, but I don't keep up to date with the women who do it. And I don't have the energy for it. But I also have long believed in the beauty of Black people, people of African descent and of the African diaspora. Beauty among us is diverse and lovely to behold in God's creation. All the entire human race is physically beautiful, yes, that is true, and it is so good to appreciate the beauty of others and within our own ethnic groups without stealing identities.
Chioma, thank you! Because the media seems to accept one droppers or biracial people as black. And especially for women we have never had the same experience.
I’ve seen a lot of people say that white women that blackfish want to actually look mixed. This girl does not look mixed, she looks like a black woman with two black parents.
😭🤣😭🤣 I can always tell a European woman who is playing dress up, googling BLK women bodies and hair, with those awful wisdom tooth BBLs and practiced slang from a gotdam mile away🤌🏾🤣🤣🤣
Some people would. She already painted her skin brown so some people will assume she is black when she is white. How do go from a white girl to looking like a mixed chick..??
I know a lot of White People who doesn't love themselves. It's sad 😢 OAN: This by far is the best, informative UA-cam segment I've ever watched about this topic. Keep it up Queen Choima 👑
I think blackfishing is weird, in a sense, because people are going to lengths to be someone they are not. I also get the issues of blackfishing and mixed fishing. With that being said, I'm not going to lie and say I'm bothered by it or I'm outraged. Throughout my life, I've had multiple non-black women point out certain features of mine, they wish they had, my curls, lips, etc. I just take it as a compliment, but that's just me. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
she's not malicious but intentionally made sure she was less tan and just looks to be an ethnic white person for that interview? because she's my skin tone in those recent photos and I'm not mixed at all. She knows what she's doing.
Yup, black has always been the standard of beauty...even in the victorian days when women would corset their waists and stick that hump under their dresses to make it seem like that had a big backside
They love to talk down to us but wanna look like us. They say all this negative stuff about us damn can't stop thinking bout us. Can't cut it in their community, so they slide in ours. When it's time to go down, she'll wash it off and remind authority it's not like that. 🥴 I could never hate blackness cause it's the domestic thing. 🖤🤎💛🤍 from the blackest to albino black is beautiful.
The case of glorilla is especially sad to me since she’s actually quite pretty imo, but the classic female rapper uniform doesn’t suit her at all. She has ethereal essence (wide set eyes, high cheekbones, rounder features) which can make her look like an angel in some styles, and straight up uncanny in others.
Honestly to me it’s not just the non-blacks, the mix women do the same, they be mixed with white and Mexican, big black fishing, even Black/White mixed, grew up with they white mom no daddy. How are yu acting like that all of a sudden? Everybody be black fission because black men are the goal for them, and they know black men love non-black women with our aesthetic.

I'm shocked they still are doing it... the thick girl got me tricked again recently. I saw her pic on my Twitter tl n thought she was black. It wasn't until I read the comments pointing out who she was.. these women are despicable tbh
The whole liking black features on non-black women is so true, My boyfriends mum is always criticising my looks, and praising her other sons ex. In terms of fakery the ex and I are very similar. I have dyed jet black hair (I wear weaves for protection and thickness) A medium brown skintone, naturally full lips, and I wear fake eyelashes. The ex has obviously dyed jet black hair (No extensions i'm assuming) wears fake eyelashes, has lip injections and obvious fake tan, she's white, but 2 shades lighter than me. She isn't "black or mixed fishing" However It's funny how we both have a similar aesthetic, yet I get called out for "artificialness" (my hair and lashes) when this girls hair, skintone, lips and eyelashes aren't natural.
Well from what I've seen it started a long time ago when the white girls and women would get braids and gold teeth and you know talk with slang Nana just adding the skin color so with that being said it's been a problem you could just now see it on a lot of platform I might say cuz in my 39 years I've always seen the quote on quote black fishing now they're starting to tan their skin 🤣🤣
Thank god I’m black, idc🤷🏾♀️. I’ve been hating my skin complexion and features for YEARS because of how society deems us. African Americans are most definitely starting to rise in culture; even the darker complexioned black men and women.

It’s not even just white women anymore. These white men been black fishing too! I can’t be the only one who notices
blackfishing changes what it means to be black for mixed people. Sometimes I can’t even tell the difference between white people and mixed people when it didn’t use to be like this. Back then before it was cool to be black, in a lot of cases you could definitively tell if a mixed person was in fact mixed

To be honest I really think black people should learn how to love and wear our Afros ! Thats the only thing that can’t be replicated is our natural hair and it drags attention automatically… the day that we can walk around in our Afros together is the day that we will dominate ❤!!
There was a time that Gigi Hadid did a photoshoot blackfishing with an afro wig, tan and fuller lips.

Sorry for the rant but this hits close to home for me. mixed/ hispanic look is beautiful ... it is what most white girls want to be🥰
@Lynn Xo sounds like a beautiful mix.. and that is what I meant by Latina looking.. the white girls actually want to look mixed looking because it is in between
@Lynn Xo it is crazy in so many ways.
When I was younger, I always believed that female Black Americans (now known as African Americans) were all like Halle Berry and Thandi Newton because that was what was shown in movies and Tv shows as the black woman representation
It was literally only around 2010 when social media became a thing that I realized that there actually were black women from America who looked like me and in fact, they were the majority. Representation matters
Black people don't hate each other - ok, there are a couple of rotten potatoes but for the most part..we love ourselves and our features (ok..in Africa where I'm based) and we gatekeep our blackness. In South Africa, the moment you're mixed with any other race i.e. if your great-grandfather is non-black then you are "coloured" until your phenotype is black (including the hair)
It's unfortunate that Americans still have to fight to be seen

As someone who has struggled with mental Illness for over 20 years…what these women are doing is a mental illness and they need serious help.
I’m astonished at her transformation wow shocking. From her body to her skin color 😮
