@@brandonbrown6922 yeah i suppose that could work but then again, messing with that one event might change the whole outcome of uldren and whatnot so who knows but again, its a clever idea
That was because she wasnt killed in her throne room I from what it seemed like I read. Another was with that was Savathun was the cunning and tricker among the trio and in order for Oryx to revive her he would have had to make a cunning trick plan to deceive someone to revive her which he did to the Dakaua Nest and made them extinct which got Savathun to be revived. Similar to Xivu Arath. She was a war nature and oryx had to wage war again on the Ecumeme which resulted in her being revived again.
And you thought they wouldn't be able too? Come on, if we can fall off a ship 3 miles up and still live, we can achieve anything together. Bring back Clyde would be child's play. They bought back his murderer, with a goast that was just looking for his master. So there's hope. I just loved his attertude and his vulnerability.
Hey Byf, Cayde actually was on Mercury. In year one he had his stashes which were hidden chests marked on the map that would correspond with the flash-point. There were five of them on Mercury right next to where the Sundial is now built! With this logic it could be possible to find him when he placed those stashes, but that doesn't necessarily mean we could avert his death.
Max Landy but we can warn him to stop been foolish and don’t break that cable so he can go down like a cowboy riding it to face the Scorn all alone and get killed.
I don't think you know how time works in Destiny because if you change the past if affects the present and it doesn't create another timeline... - If we save him, Forsaken would've never happened and will make the expansion useless and throw all that lore and character development to the trash. - The Sundial was made only to bring back Saint and after this season Osiris will probably destroy it. - The core of the Sundial is a big problem because it consumes Light, so we can't keep "playing" with it.
He means something like Perfect Paradox. Ace was Cayde's gun, yes, but Paradox was special. That's not just a name. It literally *is* a paradox. And as a result, it was able to interact with the Sundial in a way that nothing else can, which led us to the two points we needed to visit to save Saint.
The Phantom: That’s true, but remember from the base story, Cayde himself got trapped in a Vex loop, you’d have to go around all the moral ramifications, but you could take Cayde’s body, or any part of it (If he had the Ace of Spades on him during that it might work) and find him that way
Zavala has no bed. Legend says he stands at that balcony 24/7 waiting for the month and day 4/20 to jump off and land on his ghost destroying it and his light…..forever
Osiris: saint 14 can't be found he's lost, ive looked for him for thousands of years of time Guardian: ok hold my beer let me try .... ummm here he is did you even look
I agree with the sentiment of this comment and it's also showing that Osiris isn't perfect, he makes mistakes like everyone else.the reason why I think he had so much trouble in finding Saint 14 is that he is merely using an echo of himself which has limited capability, whereas guardians went in whole and intact.

“Almost definitely not” Don’t do that. Don’t give me hope. But the real question is, would Cayde want to come back? Or if we talked to a younger Cayde, would he want to avoid the Prison of Elders? I feel like the people wanting Cayde back are forgetting two things, 1) He’s at peace now, no more worrying what memories are real, no conflict of whether his queen and the kid are real. 2) Cayde’s always done what he believes to be the right thing, the man was willing to use a Vex transponder to try taking out Gaul knowing full well he would die without his light. Cayde’s the best, I miss him as much as anyone, but maybe just once we should ask if we *should* bring Cayde back instead of looking for a thousand ways that we could.
Entirely true. He is at peace, and he DID mention in a lore bit that he refused any further resets, very much akin to a DNR statement. Though the idea of Cayde-7 being a thing and getting so angry about it that he goes dark is entirely possible, since dark guardians apparently don't need Ghosts... And the Darkness seemed to talk a lot about him... And solar subtypes are quick to anger anyway... ...He's pretty much got the perfect setup to become a dark guardian, and I think this needs to be talked about more, because it's enough to make me nervous. >_> Edit: Hellfire guardians...
Don’t forget he also thought he was alone. So it might be ok to think that he MIGHT not want to come back. And like this comment section said, he is at peace. He is okay with dying
What if you saved his ghost. Make is so she knows she’s going to be shot and fakes her death able to be extracted later to resurrect cayde when time has played out as it should.
frowningtap if Cayde’s ghost hadn’t died, our ghost wouldn’t have sensed she was dead, and we either wouldn’t go looking for him, or we’d go after Uldren, looking for Cayde’s ghost
I've known you for so long, back from the day you taught me how to farm on a hive spawn site in D1. My childhood was spent watching your videos along with getting improving in Destiny, I thank you for being a part of me.
I thought that saving cayde via the halls of time was impossible too when i started watching your video. But as you started to pour through what is known, i present this: We do have access to the temporal coordinates to the the point in time of his death, because we were literally there. The same way the perfect paradox is the thing that exist outside of time, our guardian and our ghost are the embodiment of paracausal energy, with the ability to exist outside and effect the laws of what exists. That means there would be not one but TWO sets of the same paracausal entities in the prison at that point in time. Still dependent on being able to retune the location to the prison, and the target to Cayde. But honestly, with all that has happened since, saving Cayde would affect a lot more than we think. With our guardian there to back Cayde up, plus the knowledge we have on the barrons and their weaknesses, theres no way they kill him but also no way Uldren escapes successfully. If he doesnt escape, he never takes that piece of the traveler and eventually opens the dreaming city, never unleashes riven, curse never happens, and the list goes on from there. But maybe, just maybe, THATS how we "fix the timeline" and break the curse. By making sure it is never unleashed to begin with. In the end its all just speculation on a fictional piece of entertainment, but damn is it fun to theorize like this.
Yeah my thoughts exactly, if we do end up going back to save him, then we will never go to the forest to save him in the first place, amongst other things. Causing a paradox that will tear up time from the point he died all the way to the forest. Ripples to tidal waves.
I had that thought too, but didn't consider the ripple effect it'd have... since it _did_ kick off the entire forsaken campaign and whatnot... but at the same time, can we say _for certain_ that pulling someone out of an infinite forest simulation has that ripple effect to begin with? When we pulled saint out of his timeline, was he still dead in our timeline, and borrowed from another? If Saint came from a _separate_ timeline, we could assume that the same thing could be done for Cayde-6, without consequence. Although, if I understand correctly, since Cayde wasn't in the infinite forest when he died, even if we could somehow find him using the temporal coordinates, the Cayde we'd find would just be a simulation, not the real thing, and probably couldn't exist outside of Mercury. Although I will say that if Bungie wants to find a way to bring back Cayde they can most certainly make it work. (Now that I think about it, would an ahamkara wish work to bring back the dead?)
@@cody_the_rat We didnt pull Saint out of a different timeline though. That was our OG saint. It wasnt a simulation either. We literally went back to that moment in time (we had the perfect paradox and his dead ghost so we could map out the temporal coordinates) and stopped him from dying. Thats why he "took the long way around". Paracausal beings, we get the job done lol. Im sure that being born from paracausal energy only made it POSSIBLE for us to do it, not so that we didnt break something down the line. We most likely did haha Right, saving Cayde similarly to how we saved Saint would require a LOT of retooling. Sundial would have to be retuned to the reef. That on its own is a monumental feat. As for getting the temporal coordinates though, we were literally there, and our ghost was there, AND we have his ace of spades. We got coordinates for days lol

We saved Saint-14 for Osiris, time he got his ass over to the reef and build another sundial specifically tuned for Cade-6 and start searching with his echo's...
"Someone wanted to live forever" "Someone's changed the game, someone's not playing nice" "Long slow wisper" "It's on Enceladus" "Minds behind the deep stone crypt" "I stop counting at six you hear? No higher." The seven seraphs Calus believed in a Cayde-7 Cayde will be back, and we're not gonna like it.
I honestly think Failsafe has a backup of Cayde she hasn't told us about, or Cayde made himself a backup in the Vex network. I think Ada-1 being a special kind of Exo hints at maybe Cayde could have a new body made. But the scariest thought that has occurred to me, if Uldren went to the moon, would he have a nightmare of Cayde? Could we somehow bring Cayde back as a Darkness-wielding guardian (who would then teach us how to use the Darkness too. lol)?
Dark guardians don't need Ghosts... The Deep Stone Crypt has backups of all exo consciousnesses... The Shadowkeep DLC spoke ENTIRELY too much about him... His body is kept somewhere on the Tower... Uldren has come back light, and Bungie loves juxtapositions... ...Cayde-7 has a much too perfect setup to become a dark guardian, and that alone makes me very nervous...
That's going to be the story of all exo, but it will also serve as a way to honor Cayde's memory. A big revelation and salvation for Exos that he enabled us to achieve as his last deed.
I'm going to agree with you on that one. His message during the Ace of Spades quest as well as the implications that Cayde had actually been reset more than 6 times and we have no idea what the Deepstone Crypt was doing and what implications it has on all Exos. Might be that there is a copy of the original Cayde in there and while we won't get a physical Cayde back but they might bring him back in some incorporeal way but he is likely to not have all of his memories of adventures and such with us.
@@skadie2515 remember in his journal, cayde said that 6 was the final number, and he didn’t want a 7. It was impossible for osiris to find him. Not us. We were meant to find him. Saints whole life as a guardian was moulded by us finding him at this time. We did it before (because saint remembered us) so we were going to do it again. We were the only one that could have ever found him and bring him back.
Izuzan fair point but here’s a counter argument firstly one thing u should keep in mind is that every single planet has an obelisk which are kinda like waypoints for the sundial and the reef was one of the first ones if u ask me that’s kinda putting a hat on a hat plus just because we were meant to find saint which btw isn’t true his life was never in our hands that was just a possible reality which means almost one hundred percent there’s also a time line where cayde is also alive
@@rayyymen8215 not so. There was "the guardian" that found and helped him and showed him the future city he helps create. We were always going to find saint. Us and saint are a paradox. We had to find him it was written in time. Cayde on the other hand didnt have anyone to paradox with. There was no guardian that helped shape him. Even if he did, he would remember us. Saint remembered us and left perfect paradox to us for us to find. All cayde had was his treasures for anyone to find. This is all typical time travel and paradox science. I love cayde as much as the next person and would love to see him back, the game is boring without his wisecracking and jokes. But cayde is gone. Look at the time machine. The reason he built the machine was to go back and save his wife. When he went back she died a different way each time. Why ? Because the only reason he built the machine was to save her, if he saves her, he had no reason to build the machine. Same with cayde. If he didnt die we had no reason to go back to save him.
Mate do u have a discord if so tell me also untrue cayde has a list of people he thought would kill him and a shorter list of people he trusted (including us) and actually in destiny one cayde even says that we did shape him in a way and that said he didn’t leave his treasure for anyone as u read earlier he had a list of people he excpected to be able to figure out his code not just anyone and the ace of spades also had multiple prices when you do the quest you don’t just get it you have to collect parts for it indicating that it wasn’t meant for a simple citizen to find it was made for someone with the time intellect and patience to find and restore it even when uldren killed cayde he had no way to restore the gun to its full potential and on that point saint never left it for us after our first encounter with him when we first met him against the house of rain that’s when he even found out about us and as Osiris said he traversed many time lines all where saint died which means we weren’t destined to save him we were more like the key Osiris found saint and did all that but couldn’t save him so we did the same can be applied to cayde I’m not saying I believe it’s possible to save cayde put I’m not saying there isn’t also a chance we could save him on that point you should agree because back in curse of Osiris the world was going to end and when we entered the picture that’s what saved it showing that it’s a lot like a jigsaw puzzle u have to keep trying pieces until you find the one that fits
The biggest problem is that compared to Cadye, Saint-14 died in the Infinite Forest. The Infinite Forest is a system that creates almost an Infinite amount of possible timelines and simulations. The Forest is also a system closed off from the rest of the universe which allows us to interfere, with no repercussion to our the past or present. The other thing to consider is that the Saint-14 that we see during the Lost Prophecy quest and the Sundial quest could both be a simulation.
I’m still thinking it’s gonna be us vs a vex unit wielding Light and Dark powers in an endless loop for the fate of reality. An immovable object against an unstoppable force until the end of time itself.
There are a few visions from the future that imoly we'll destroy a Pyramid: - From Sjur: "I was dreaming," Sjur says, wiping her mouth off with the back of her hand. The dream is already fading. "He said, 'Tropaea.' Or maybe it was, uh, 'Tropical.' Anyway." - From Fenchurch: I stood over VIP #0704's shoulder as she dressed a seven-inch gash on agent ERI-223's thigh. Both #0704 and ERI-223 were dressed for combat. Hundreds of fragments of the unknown material hung in the air around us, apparent shrapnel from the wreckage of a nearby ship of unrecognizable make and model. ERI-223 looked directly toward me and said, "Патетическая."
Let's just download the backup of Cayde's memories from the Deep Stone Crypt into a new exo body. Once we find the damn place. Why wouldn't clovis bray have kept backups, just in case they needed more exo soldiers? Sure, it won't be the Cayde we know & love, but he'll get there.
@@vic-20personalcomputer80 no he said he didn't want to be rebooted into cayde_7 He didn't say anything about taking the backups and putting them into a new body, and knowing clovis, the exos probably send neural backups regularly, so we could get cayde 6 into a new body without a reset

A tale that's different from the rest: the thread unfurls against the clocks. The one the Speaker loved the best must have a perfect paradox. The little poem for Perfect Paradox is my favorite, thanks to this season. To find the moment where we could save Saint-14 and defy time, he needed this weapon.

Personally I don't want Cayde-6 to be brought back through time. If he is, that means his death meant nothing and all of Forsaken was pointless. I would be fine if he was reborn as Cayde-7 or something though.
Now I would love to have a random mission where we just simply go around paying off Cyades debts, like we would get lore about him and see how he stacked up that much debt first hand.
Osiris didn’t know when or where Saint died. We know exactly when and where Cayde died. Even without the perfect paradox we have the Ace of Spades, Cayde’s weapon. And I don’t think the infinite forest has a hard limit, you would just need a way to get off mercury in the past, but Ghost can simulate our sparrow so why not our ship? And we know that Cayde did spend some time on Venus, the closest planet to Mercury. Even if the sundial was specifically tuned to Saint, then that means that we could just construct a sundial that is tuned to Cayde.
@@farrelat except nobody knows where he got ace of spades, it could easily be that we are the ones who gave it to him in the first and told him to always keep that secret close to his chest, like a pocket ace.

Cayde’s death caused us to go after Uldren, and find the dreaming city. So saving him would change everything in Destiny. Uldren was a catalyst for something bigger than us.
ok so to quickly explain it saint 14 from our timeline is still dead we basically went to a different timeline and saved a saint 14 from there, who then came across into our timeline the saint 14 we have now came from a timeline where the last safe city simply did not exist
By bringing Uldren back it undermines everything you did in forsaken so he should come back. Also do you have any idea what happened in real life because of the devs ignorance?
No cause Saint’s death was literally a perfect paradox so he could be brought back with no consequences. If we resurrected Cayde then there would be a multitude of consequences.
As long as we keep the sundial intact in the future we create, we can fix our mistakes until we get the correct way to save cayde without consequences. If there is no such way, we can simply undo it all and leave cayde dead.
the only place I think we could save cayde in, my eyes, without changing too much of the story, would be after he gets thrown through the wall, he wont have a ghost or any light anymore, but he would be alive, cause 1: we would not run into ourselfs that way and 2: we can force the barons and uldren to leave, without killing them
I play this game for the story and the community, the rest is a bonus. Thanks byf for another great lore video. Content is top notch, your vernacular and cadence are the bonus.
Cayde's death created a chain of events in which Uldren Sov releases Riven, and we kill Uldren and Riven. Bringing Cayde back would mess up this chain of events. Saint-14's death did almoast nothing to the timeline, it seemed that Osirus created the sundial thinking that Saint-14 was dead before he had confirmation, so when we release him from the infinite forest all that really changed was that Saint is now alive and the vex had to fight him for many more years.
This question isn’t necessarily involving Cayde but it’s something that crossed my mind. I feel the odds of Osiris returning to the tower is very high with the indications of Trails of Osiris returning... IF he returns to the tower... He will possibly at least hear about everyone in the tower. What if he hears about the Future War Cult and has a conversation with them? They seemed to have been through time as well. If he gets the info of their method and combines that knowledge with his own research on time travel... Something very interesting might happen... Right? This is very head cannon-y... 😂😂
osiris is basically a very advanced version of FWC already- the device they use is vex in origin, and while they can see into future timelines, osiris already walks through and interacts w them
The one way I see Cayde coming back. It will be something like Avengers Endgame, The Traveler, now fully recovered and fully awake begins to resurrect old guardians and creating new ghosts.
Except it already kinda had no purpose, Cayde's death was literally used as a marketing gimmick since Uldren was under the influence of a higher power, not his own free will, its practically a meaningless revenge. They literally killed him off in the most unsatisfying and lame way ever, all for what ? A little bit of marketing ? They easily lost their best character, in the long run they lost more than they gained, by killing off Cayde.
Giving this idea to bungie would make for a great dlc where you have to use the sundial to find and bring back cayde-6 and it turns out we were the one who gave him his gun in a timeline from destiny 1 maybe???? That would be awesome!
Question, during the base game of D2 in one of the missions to defeat Garry, wasn’t cayde trapped in a broken time stream until our guardian broke the loop? If that’s the case couldn’t we use that and some how tap in the that time stream with the infinite forest to possibly bring him back???
It was still connected to the Vex network, and Osiris has met with Failsafe at some point. There's also an Obelisk on Nessus, so we might be able to work around with that.
Even if this were possible, it would mess with the events in which cayde had any influence that would happen in between the moment of us freeing him from the loop and the moment we pull him out using the sundial
Plot twist: Neo-Uldren saves Cayde-6 from Uldren. Honestly, I think they should leave Cayde. His story has ended. The only way I can see him coming back for any reason is due to the Red Legion.
Maybe someone picked them up because their original place was being taken by enemies, maybe without even knowing what it was, just that it might be important, this person them got to mercury, died there and either didnt manage to recover or it or it was stolen while they are being revived.
@@looksnormal someone carrying it can be, you know, shot in the head, or just drop it while running for their lives. Them enemies either pick it up as spoils, or seize control of the area and negate its recovery for so much time it is forgotten
*shrug* Maybe he'll come back if we get a Deep Stone Crypt expansion. Imagine if Cayde-7 is introduced and Uldren comes out of exile, and the two of them hit it off.
They took the one guy that made being a Guardian at the tower with it, I’d rather be at the iron lord mountain or be a dark guardian like the drifter or just working for callus or going to be my own kell
“There is no perfect paradox for cayde” I mean, is it possible we could use the ace of spades a a sort of temporal map to find cayde through the sundial? While it would be very similar to saint 14, it would be cool if cayde got his gun from us in a previous timeline
Well it’ll go against the lore since he originally uses it to try and not be depressed and all that by remembering a faint memory of his son and wife and it’ll be really weird if we were to give it to him, it would then change the ace of spades reason to exist as well as skew the lore more than it needs to be skewed
VJMPX You would need a time lost version of the Ace of Spades. Remember, the Perfect Paradox that led us to Saint is different to the one in our inventory. The one we used to save Saint came out of the Sundial and existed in multiple timelines at once. Plus we have no idea how to find something like that. The time lost weapons have only ever come to us.
We could go back and throw a hint to Banshee about how to build it, and he likely forgets that particular tidbit. That would complete the paradox for Cayde.
What about the vex glitch loop when Cayde got stuck on Nessus - mission with failsafe - Cayde echo still in vex network?.. build a new sundial on Nessus ? Use vault of glass? Find deep stone crypt, upload Cayde to a new exo frame?
Hunters, asleep: Almost Definitely? I like those odds! Me, Warlock, Woke: Didnt they make copies of Cayde back on Nessus? We don’t need time travel, we just need to paste Cayde. He may not have his light, but he might be back.
@@vanguard616 It's not a lore tab. During the Red War Cayde entered a vex teleporting loop as I'm sure you're aware. It's know that the vex can't simulate light but as the red legion had taken the city they took the light as well. This could mean that there is a version of Cayde in the vex network without the light that the vex have simulated. Some have speculated that it may be possible to reach into the network and pull him out or alternatively some how get some kind of message out to him in there warning him about the prison riot whilst he's in the loop.
I think he was talking about the Deepstone Crypt, where he--and other Exos--were created. Although, that could be important as well in bringing him back...
to be completely honest, yeah i agree. as big a legend saint is, i still feel uneasy thinking about this changing the past thing. consequences are bound to happen.
@@shiningsimp Because Saint died in the forest originally, he didn't have any impact on the timeline *outside* of the forest when he died. Such still applies now that we pulled him from the forest and changed history.

I agree with you because of energy percausal is everywhere because of the guardians but also everyone's forgetting about hawkmoon and it's entire thing is that it uses percausal energy to get the super shot at the end
one of the biggest problems of all is literally "timing", with Saint-14 he should have been dead all those years ago but somehow also in the future because of how vex logic works but from the moment he stepped into the forest the universe outside kept going without him and he held no influence on it's events which is key here. We were able to save him because we happened to find his gun in the forest where as we were able to insert ourselves into his past by being the one the younger him got it from and as Sagira said "the forest is always in flux" it's to be assumed you could literally follow a full on time stamp to an object and because as far as the outside world is concerned the forest is an enclosed cycle we were able to bring saint back because him being missing all that time didn't chang anything he was "dead" before the red war was even a thought. Cayde is different, not only in that he died within the wider single timeline universe but also because of how long it's been since his death, the event's of Forsaken only happen as they do because we go on a revenge mission for Cayde. It only happens because he dies likely making his death a fixed point because in trying to change it the version of the future that needs to change it would not happen, the simple fact of the matter if you could really say "simple" is that Saint was only savable because he just so happened to die in a space where essentially time had no meaning or influence meaning no resulting Butterfly Effect
we need to find cayde 1~5 notes; we never went to Enceladus to know if there is a way to "remake" a exo; did we ever retrieved Sundance? if yes, can we "revive" his ghost? Those obelisks are "extensions" of the Sundial? Can't we use the one in tangled shore to search time lines there?
Gregory Kubya Sagira, Osiris’s ghost, was able to be revived, albeit she was more intact when the process took place, but not entirely out of the realm of possibility. As for Cayde, we won’t know absolutely until we visit Enceladus.

on the astronomical distances problem, the reef is relatively close to our orbit (between mars and Jupiter to be exact). the distances are, measuring from the suns surface to the asteroid belt, at about 1/3rds of the way is Mercury, at 2/3rds is earth. the whole distance is however still smaller than the radius of the sun itself. so following that geometry earth wouldnt even need to be at the opposite side of the sun, it can be relatively close and it would still be possible to be further away from mercury than the reef. one thing i would like to add tho, the reef is also moving with the asteroid belt and the chances of the 3 locations lining up in a way that would technicaly be required to have the timebubble affect the reef but not earth is relatively unlikely and would only be given years apart so even if it is possible its not given that the situation will arise within an amount of time that we have untill everything goes to shit due to the cabal… but in the end i agree with you in that it is with 99+% likelyhood not possible to bring back cayde
Aww man I've been saying this and saying they have opened up so many lore and game world potentials now with the portals now they can save the iron lords and cayde 6 , so thankyou for seeing my questions with others and making a video good stuff bro happy new year
Also Saint was in a space (the Forest) that is specifically a space when’re time travel can happen/it is simulating time travel instances. These instances happen only in that space. You can enter and exit it at any point in a timeline, but only on mercury-ie you are bound to mercury. The thing with Saint is that he is able to be saved specifically because he was already present in those simulation spaces (seeing how the forest is infinite it is an infinite spacio-temporal enclosure). Logically speaking, there is no predicate of Cayde being in the forest to create a conclusion of “Cayde survives being shot by Uldren”. This is a sort of loop that is not possible because he doesn’t exist within the simulated space of the forest, and because time in Destiny is decidedly linear. Also saving saint isn’t itself a paradox by virtue of the forest being non-linear and non- circular kind of time-wherein time is (essentially) non-dimensional (insofar as it is a set of simulations with doors back to mercury in different moments of a timeline)-it is akin to entering a room, re-arranging it, then taking an item out, and locking the door behind you. TL;DR you can save Saint because he is in a simulation (in the forest) and he can return to our timeline on his own, but you can’t save Cayde because he is outside the simulation and bound to a linear timeline, which is a fixed timeline.
I think the most.. "Optimum" moment, if you will, to save Cayde would be, as you said, distraction of the rifleman as he is about to shoot Sundance. From then on, it would be relatively easy to allow the Barons and Uldren to escape, as it happened, without the death of Cayde The problem arises in that Cayde's death is a massive catalyst in the Destiny story. Cayde's death is the catalyst for our revenge quest, which leads to the dreaming city, and therefore riven, the curse, etc. Cayde lives, and its very likely that they never escape the Prison, let alone get near the Dreaming City. Cayde, you and Petra in that timeline would probably beat all the Barons before they got to the Dreaming City. The entire timeline would be messed up. Now, maybe that's not such a bad thing, you might say, but I don't think that's the point - its too unpredictable, and despite the fact I love Cayde, I think his death is too important to the story to be changed.
Trap him in your basement. Do this by exchanging the slug for a slightly different one. Fake the ghost's death, and simply bring cayde back. All events will still happen, but we have our exo friend who we can show to the world when we need him.
If Cayde survived he would have emplored us to HELP HIM take down the Barons because he was the one who originally imprisoned them and wouldn't take that lying down. Could even call it a Dare. That still would lead to Uldren getting the Light crystal and opening the Dreaming City.
Resin I’d love to see a mission where you try your hardest to fight through the Vex on Mercury and almost end up dying to find a past Cayde, but have it be in vain, and you say your last goodbye to him and leave the timeline, with him absolutely confused on what you meant by a last goodbye.
Q-bh something like that would would be an incredible send-off. While forsaken basically tied up cause entirely I feel a mission like that would allow everyone to truly say their last goodbyes to a fantastic character.
idk about Sundance (his ghost) But it’s light was used to build Hirak’s throne world. I don’t think we can but if we did I think we’d start with the Mind Bender.
A Bird Not pushing back in the subject at all I don’t think it’s possible regardless But in any (structural) collapse there is remnants Ruins, jetsam, trace elements that in this hypothetical would be of the same gooey fundament Sundance once was.
There’s a lot of reasons that’s irrelevant, We find dead ghosts on the shore all the time. Equally valid souls lost to millennia’s of warfare, Cayde wasn’t better or worse than any other Risen of the last city
Funny thing about that, if we brought Cayde back, we wouldn't been able to take down the barons or the Prince hell wouldn't even have ventured to the tangled shores, meet spider or even be in the dreaming city, his death regretfully has given guardians a path for bettering ourselves to keep others from dying like him, regretfully once again, his death was a milestone that needed to be set for saving many more lives in the future.
Well the vex enemies we see in the game in general have the ability to time travel so we could theoretically reprogram a vex goblin and paint it to look like the ace of spades, so cayde doesn’t shoot it as soon as he sees it , we then have the vex goblin inform cayde with a message informing him to not take his ghost out in the prison of elders during any prison riots or prison breaks ever, BOOM success
There one person I'm interested in finding using the sundail through destiny's chronological time line. A person who is lost in the echos of time through the vex network! Praedyth!
"There's no Perfect Paradox coming back for Cayde." Uh. Ace of Spades? Listen if the only reason we found Saint is because we gavehis weapon back to him that he sent forward in time....then it stands to reason we could do the same with Ace. Also you're ignoring the fact that the Anchors exist to stabilize time. The bubble you're talking about has ALREADY reached the Reef. Cause there's an Anchor in it. What happens if we selectively disable that Anchor?
@@Sero4 read the second part of my comment. The time altering effects of the Sundial are being felt as far as the Reef. That's why there's anchors everywhere: EDZ, Mars, Nessus, etc
Not to mention our ghost was with us when he died and we were very close to Cayde physically at his time of death while osiris was at the opposite end of the infinite forest when saint died maybe our ghost recorded the temporal coordinates after all we still don't understand the full breadth of the ghosts abilities or how they work.
Unlike Saint 14, the number after Caydes name refers to how many reboots he's had. This is good news for Cayde "6" knowing bungies affinity for the number 7. Almost a resurrection guaruntee + we are going into the place where exos are made in beyond light.
It would be cool if in one of the dlc's cayde-7 was made and has no memory of who he is but we can return his memory by finding pages of his Journal in which the pages are scattered around the system and when were done we show him his old body in his Memorial room and then proceed to give him his now put together journal and then he starts to slowly remeber who he was and what he did
Also wouldn't the trouble with changing his timeline with the sundial just cause massive consequences in the present? Like without Cayde's death we wouldn't go after Uldren and the Barons, wouldn't end up in the Dreaming City to assist the Awoken. We'd also never find the Black Armory due to never being introduced to the Spider. The only way it could work by using the Sundial is having Cayde and Sundance fake their deaths, possibly Sundance comes back through the corridors of time with us to the present and revives Cayde here, but i don't know if that'd even work
The taken king dlc- Bungie: sorry guys Mara is dead now! Forsaken- Bungie: Hey guys guess? Mara never died! She’s alive and well! Fans: Great! so when are you gonna do the same with cayde?
What if, instead of going through Cayde's timeline, we go through ours. We probably have a pretty large temporal timeline (we killed gods) and haven't been to the prison of elders much.
I honestly don’t want Cayde to truly return. I would love to have an alternate version of him like a Nightmare, but really bringing him back would really undermine all the goodness that happened in Forsaken. Comment if ya agree
They need to bring him back to cut the last cord of a failed activision partnership that saw them rush d2, use cut content as dlcs, & kill every1s favorite guardian to get the player base back. They didnt kill ikora or zavala because no1 cares about generic black woman (not racist just descriptive), stoic blue man group reject, or Morgan (twd) in a darth vader mask. Cayde 6 was a properly fleshed out character with a story to tell. Every1 else in the tower is a generic npc ecen the old russian feeding the pigeons. Half his conversations are through reading text.
The Poor Wayfaring Gamer not that I don’t agree with that, but even with Activision pulling the strings Forsaken was a god-tier expansion. Whether they killed Cayde just to get the player base back or not, that won’t change. I’d have a hard time believing Bungo would take away the reason for an expansion that was so well received by the community. Edit: who’s morgan
@@dredgenyeeet4343 lord shaxx is played by lennie james (morgan in the walking dead) Forsaken was a good expansion but 1 they could have made without killing cayde. But again i guess no1 would be crying to bring back ikora, just like no1 cared the useless speaker died
The main issues are the location of the sundial in relation to Cayde and the lack of a perfect paradox. So we construct a ship that contains both a new sundial (linked to Cayde) and some amazing cloaking tech (the awoken probably wouldn't take kindly to messing with time on their turf). We move it to the reef and begin searching, not for when he dies but for when he is created and, either, give him a newly forged ace of spades or hide a tracker that broadcasts the temporal coordinates to the new sundial in the event of his death. We then use those coordinates to save his ghost. I say his ghost because saving him would eliminate the need for the new sundial so it wouldn't be built and we'd be back to square 1. Then we get his ghost to bring him back in the present. Job done. Having said all this I dont think that Caydr should be revived. His death brought out a lot of really strong feelings for many guardians, bringing him back would be triumphant it would negate the desire for revenge in the first place. But it would be nice to see Caude again.
The Perfect Paradox is a "Bridge Point" in time. Basically our ghost was able to trace the residue of our light on the shotgun through the forest to Saint-14. Like a map that showed ghost exactly which of the infinite upon infinite paths to take that would lead us to Saint on Mercury in the distant past. Without that bridge point, we would have been worse off than Osiris. We would have been lost to the forest just the same way Saint was. The key point is that the remains of the gun were found by Osiris, fixed by us, given to Saint in the past on Mercury, and then carried by him until he fell, then found by Osiris so we could find it and fix it just to pass on to Saint. It's a loop. A loop that always ended in Saint's death. Until we found his ghost. Then we were able to trace the moment Saint died and save him. In order to do what we did for Saint, but for Cayde, we would need a Bridge Point for Cayde. The problem is that we dont. We dont have something we made in the present and then went back to give to Cayde for us to use to trace back. But there is a POSSIBILITY for us to save Cayde indirectly. The Drifter says in the "Shell of the Past" strike (I believe is the name) that the Vex in the Prison of Elders all serve one Vex Mind. Maybe, if Osiris could get his hands on that Mind, we could use it to send a message back to Cayde. A warning. "Don't fight the Barons." "Wait for us." "The Marksman kills your Ghost." Anything to alter his path. The question is, what would be the ramifications? We lost Cayde, but he died a hero. What if the Barons and Uldren would have pushed him to his breaking point if they didnt kill him then? The only thing worse than Cayde being dead would be one who followed the path of Deregen Yor. I doubt he would but we cant know for certain. Either way, the sundial wont work for Cayde, but there are other possibilities.

“There’s nothing we have that we can return to Cayde”
Um what about the Ace of Spades???
Bitch please... the Colonel.
Ace doesn't have the paradoxical link to the past similar to the perfect paradox shotgun

Though the idea of Cayde-7 being a thing and getting so angry about it that he goes dark is entirely possible, since dark guardians apparently don't need Ghosts... rip only 1 like and no reply oof
That is truly a heartwarming story
Ripples to tidal waves.
thank you for the hope
@@cody_the_rat
We didnt pull Saint out of a different timeline though.

Yeah, but we're guardians, we do the impossible. We make our own miracles.

"Mm. Yeah. She was helping. Then your brother showed up, and…" She shakes out her arms, frowning thoughtfully. The dream is already fading. "He said, 'Tropaea.' Or maybe it was, uh, 'Tropical.' Anyway."
- From Fenchurch: I stood over VIP #0704's shoulder as she dressed a seven-inch gash on agent ERI-223's thigh. Both #0704 and ERI-223 were dressed for combat. Hundreds of fragments of the unknown material hung in the air around us, apparent shrapnel from the wreckage of a nearby ship of unrecognizable make and model. ERI-223 looked directly toward me and said, "Патетическая."

The one the Speaker loved the best must have a perfect paradox.
The little poem for Perfect Paradox is my favorite, thanks to this season. To find the moment where we could save Saint-14 and defy time, he needed this weapon.

Every Hunter Guardian: "Please don't do that, please don't give us hope"

Personally I don't want Cayde-6 to be brought back through time. If he is, that means his death meant nothing and all of Forsaken was pointless. I would be fine if he was reborn as Cayde-7 or something though.
@@bradwhite5884 but they did? all my d2 characters are my original D1 characters paint and all. you had to sign up for transfer.

Cayde’s death caused us to go after Uldren, and find the dreaming city. So saving him would change everything in Destiny. Uldren was a catalyst for something bigger than us.

ok so to quickly explain it
saint 14 from our timeline is still dead
we basically went to a different timeline and saved a saint 14 from there, who then came across into our timeline
the saint 14 we have now came from a timeline where the last safe city simply did not exist

I play this game for the story and the community, the rest is a bonus. Thanks byf for another great lore video. Content is top notch, your vernacular and cadence are the bonus.
"Mostly dead is still somewhat alive"
They dont really time travel, not in the way that we have
osiris is basically a very advanced version of FWC already- the device they use is vex in origin, and while they can see into future timelines, osiris already walks through and interacts w them
FWC just has a device that lets them see through different timelines. They don't seem to actually step into those different timelines.
Hey, head canon is best canon.
you remember the Oxa devise the psions made ... yea the FWC have one
The one way I see Cayde coming back. It will be something like Avengers Endgame, The Traveler, now fully recovered and fully awake begins to resurrect old guardians and creating new ghosts.
Uldren: any last words?
Our Guardian: what’s yours

"I think We're so preoccupied with if we could, that we didn't stop for a moment to think if we should."
Honestly this is what I’ve been thinking. But tbh forsaken would of been a waste of a dlc if cayde comes back. It would’ve had no purpose.
That's what I've been thinking about. Has much as I would like too bring Cayde back it would just ruin the whole purpose of Caydes death.
Exactly, one more person who thinks like me
Wind of change
Well Uldren alive again and probably gonna be the new Hunter vanguard
Wind of change all the characters in destiny suck anyway lol.
So Cayde has been on Mercury at least once... his old stashes from around the time of the Red War proves that.
I think it was a teleportation loop and not a time loop
It was still connected to the Vex network, and Osiris has met with Failsafe at some point. There's also an Obelisk on Nessus, so we might be able to work around with that.
Teleportation loop, completely different compared to a time loop simulation
Even if this were possible, it would mess with the events in which cayde had any influence that would happen in between the moment of us freeing him from the loop and the moment we pull him out using the sundial
Plot twist:
Neo-Uldren saves Cayde-6 from Uldren.
Honestly, I think they should leave Cayde. His story has ended. The only way I can see him coming back for any reason is due to the Red Legion.
If Cayde never visited Mercury then how the hell did he get some cachesnon Mercury?
Maybe someone picked them up because their original place was being taken by enemies, maybe without even knowing what it was, just that it might be important, this person them got to mercury, died there and either didnt manage to recover or it or it was stolen while they are being revived.
Tiago Faria seems highly unlikely anyone would just take supplies and dump them on another planet

“There is no perfect paradox for cayde”
I mean, is it possible we could use the ace of spades a a sort of temporal map to find cayde through the sundial?
Yeah but I think that would diminish the uniqueness of Perfect Paradox for the sake of fan-service.

Because Saint died in the forest originally, he didn't have any impact on the timeline *outside* of the forest when he died. Such still applies now that we pulled him from the forest and changed history.
“Survive. Sometimes, when you just survive, everything works out fine.” - Cayde 6.
Well cayde’s ghost getting shot is a big enough event to leave a mark in time because the ghosts are apart of the travelers light witch means that the travelers light would’ve used the player as a pawn in witch to make the event more impactful on time but that’s just a Theory though

Season of the Forsaken
Colinion Yes no they didn’t, I don’t know what this guys on about
I'd still rather go to Enceladus and the Deep Stone Crypt if we were to have a Cayde focused season/expansion.
one of the biggest problems of all is literally "timing", with Saint-14 he should have been dead all those years ago but somehow also in the future because of how vex logic works but from the moment he stepped into the forest the universe outside kept going without him and he held no influence on it's events which is key here. It only happens because he dies likely making his death a fixed point because in trying to change it the version of the future that needs to change it would not happen, the simple fact of the matter if you could really say "simple" is that Saint was only savable because he just so happened to die in a space where essentially time had no meaning or influence meaning no resulting Butterfly Effect
but who's to say any of those laws are true? paradox dont exist in our universe plain and simple. we waived saint 14 via a paradox.
we need to find cayde 1~5 notes;
we never went to Enceladus to know if there is a way to "remake" a exo;
did we ever retrieved Sundance? if yes, can we "revive" his ghost?
Those obelisks are "extensions" of the Sundial? Can't we use the one in tangled shore to search time lines there?
The obelisks are meant to root the sundial to our reality as I understand it
Gregory Kubya Sagira, Osiris’s ghost, was able to be revived, albeit she was more intact when the process took place, but not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

From then on, it would be relatively easy to allow the Barons and Uldren to escape, as it happened, without the death of Cayde
The problem arises in that Cayde's death is a massive catalyst in the Destiny story.
@@lukec6897 But then what do you do with our past selves. Or Petra? And what explanation do you provide to the Vanguard who would deem him MIA?
If Cayde survived he would have emplored us to HELP HIM take down the Barons because he was the one who originally imprisoned them and wouldn't take that lying down. Could even call it a Dare. That still would lead to Uldren getting the Light crystal and opening the Dreaming City.
I think there’s a possibility of a mission with past cayde, but he’s never coming back.
F’s in the chat boys
Resin I’d love to see a mission where you try your hardest to fight through the Vex on Mercury and almost end up dying to find a past Cayde, but have it be in vain, and you say your last goodbye to him and leave the timeline, with him absolutely confused on what you meant by a last goodbye.
Q-bh something like that would would be an incredible send-off. While forsaken basically tied up cause entirely I feel a mission like that would allow everyone to truly say their last goodbyes to a fantastic character.
Could we get a copy of his ghost in our ghost like in the curse of Osiris and rebuild his ghost?
idk about Sundance (his ghost)
But it’s light was used to build Hirak’s throne world.
I don’t think we can but if we did
I think we’d start with the Mind Bender.
Problem is, after we killed the Mind Binder in the throne world he made, it began collapsing.
A Bird
Not pushing back in the subject at all
I don’t think it’s possible regardless
But in any (structural) collapse there is remnants
Ruins, jetsam, trace elements that
in this hypothetical
would be of the same gooey fundament Sundance once was.
There’s a lot of reasons that’s irrelevant,
We find dead ghosts on the shore all the time.

The only way it could work by using the Sundial is having Cayde and Sundance fake their deaths, possibly Sundance comes back through the corridors of time with us to the present and revives Cayde here, but i don't know if that'd even work
16:30 my guardian: (laughs in doing that for sh&; and giggles)
Bungie: We killed Cayde to show death is a very real concept in the games universe
Also Bungie: Saint 14s alive now btw lmao
The taken king dlc-
Bungie: sorry guys Mara is dead now!
Forsaken-
Bungie: Hey guys guess? Mara never died! She’s alive and well!
Fans: Great! so when are you gonna do the same with cayde?
What if, instead of going through Cayde's timeline, we go through ours. We probably have a pretty large temporal timeline (we killed gods) and haven't been to the prison of elders much.
After the final shape trailer, this aged like fine wine
Even if we could save Cayde, his revival would be locked behind a paywall
I’m willing to pay if he comes back
The downside of being a F2P player.
I know this feel
@@dredgenyeeet4343 lord shaxx is played by lennie james (morgan in the walking dead)
Forsaken was a good expansion but 1 they could have made without killing cayde. But again i guess no1 would be crying to bring back ikora, just like no1 cared the useless speaker died
@@gregjanusjr8254 you better watch your mouth about the mf speaker my dude, that's a god you're talking about
@@Crunkmaster What good is a dead god to anyone?
Could we build a sundial on the prison of elders?
