@Stefano Pavone Malcolm shows some occasional levels of humanity. Whether this decreases the fear via weakness or increases it via the corruption of man, I am unsure.

Honestly the humour in this show is brilliant at every level. From the satire parodying the Hughs, Peter Mannions, Stewart Pearsons, and Terris of the world; all on the nose mean-spirited portrayals of extremely believable politicians, to the creative use of vulgarity, topical/cultural gags, to just goofy one-liners like that. It’s a pity Jamie didn’t feature more especially berating people in tandem with Malcolm . Jamie looks like a nice polite and harmless little cherub but then just goes Ballistic . I’d love to go out on a Pub crawl with these two the banter would be very entertaining .

Not even close when comparing a sitcom series to movies. "The Godfather" is the movie I am voting for when it comes to similar tones of communication styles in that scene. All it took was for me to watch only a few opening scenes of Shawshank Redemption before I came to conclusion that maybe more than one of those office worker characters in that episode of, "The Thick of It" characters in that scene looked like they probable need to spend more money on going to the dentist more often so they wouldn't be so cranky and combative with one another in that office. Here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada which is a city that got built on a lot of old coal mine tunnels now that people can apply for more affordable dental insurance then there will be less goat getting and passive aggressive style communication in offices. That is why a local politician has worked so hard to dental care included into our universal health care system too.
