This is the most complete and honest description of the smartest and most loving women I have ever known. Thank you for doing her story such justice!
Thank You Michael :) She seems like such a kind hearted, sweet person
Michael Alig your one sick son of a bitch and if we ever cross paths i will make it my duty to introduce you to a new world of pain you piece of shit
Love you Michael.❤️
El Presidenté who are you to judge ? Michael did his time and nothing he does will bring Angel back. I'm sure angel was a good person but had he not been around drug addicts , feeding their habit for fame he would not have found himself in such a situation. Everyone involved has some fault in the matter but life goes on and you live and you learn. Do you think hurting or killing Michael will fix anything? Will that make you better than him? Definitely not
@@elpresidente6867 you wouldn't do shit
The lower east side girls club saved my life . Jenny saved me and helped my mom in the middle of my heroin addiction . She will forever be my fairy god mother she gave me so many firsts .
Lucky 🌟

Were you there Susie? Awesome!
It’s great to hear about Jenny’s positive second life. I feel that club kids can be great role models because we are able to connect to those who feel they don’t fit in and in some ways also have them avoid some of the sad things like drug use. I’ve met a lot of young people who say they wish they could have been part of our scene. I remind them that obviously there was an extremely dark side caused by drug use that led to the death of Angel Melendez and the destruction of a number of lives. However I also tell them that the best times are up ahead and they can have just as many good times and even more as I intended to do and am doing! I will never forget a neighbor of mine in New Orleans who called herself Penny Lane she read and watched everything she could about club Kids and was honored to me me. Unfortunately those words, and my attempts to get her help with her heroin addiction failed. Those were the last words we shared as she Overdosed and one of the saddest things I saw in my life was her being wheeled out in a body bag. The police did nothing and didn’t even care, everyone just wrote the whole thing off... So what Jenny does is admirable. RIP Penny Lane
I meant to say honored to meet me. Sorry for the typo.
Thank you for sharing this, such a sad story about your neighbor (may she rest in peace) I agree that club kids can do great work because there are so many people out there who admire you and who have been inspired to live more authentic lives because of it. We have lost so many wonderful people to addiction. And thanks to you for the work that you do with youth communication in Chicago, that is very admirable as well! :)
Thanks I don’t want to show boat but I am Vice President of www.youthcommunication.org
for almost 10 yrs
Michael Alig is donating some lithographs to help raise money for us! We are celebrating our 40th Anniversary this year. Our mission is
“Youth must be heard and Understood”
lol I totally just uploaded a video talking about this today :)
First of all you really have to talk to the rest of the people who were clubbing at the time in order to get the inside scoop . Of course the club kids are going to paint this picture of these outlandish parties where everyone was in love with them but the reality was they were annoying drug addicts who thought they were movie stars because 10 of them were on Geraldo! They started out saying "all misfits welcome" however that was never the case. They were downright mean to patrons and thrived off of these childish pranks that always escalated to the point where it just made everyone uncomfortable. Michael would urinate in peoples drinks and think that was hilarious or he would spit on people and laugh it off as though it was a mistake.
They wanted to create an exclusive Warholian type clique to give the appearance that they were very VIP when in reality they were just trashy kids who treated others like shit. Most were racist and Michael had a policy of not allowing more than a handful of people of color in. They didn't want to attract the "hip hop" crowd -- is the excuse they gave over and over!
So the infamous Club Kids had a very brief fifteen minutes of NYC nightlife fame which still meant that 99.99% of the population had no idea who they were. That's the reality, it was not this glamorous wild party life that is being portrayed. Once drugs came in to the scene they all hit rock bottom and some of them just got down and dirty as we have all learned. Some have grown up and turned their lives around, others have never and paid the price dearly.
Not accurate
How so?
What isn’t accurate about this? Seems pretty accurate to me, and I think I know a little something about Jenny
