Thank you for this one and for the extra content about Christina. When the Peeew! first started, it seemed that Michael was in a good place, but over time his slide back to self-destruction became obvious. Sadly, the end did not come as a surprise.

Always good to see more of your videos. Interesting to hear Michael Alig wouldn't answer key questions on Christina. I guess those moments will always remain a mystery. Christina and her struggles are more relevant today than ever, so I suppose it's fitting there are still pieces we can't put together.

Christina wasn't easy to get to know because of her mental illness as I recall. Yes she was around a bit but despite what you see in Nelson's videos we didn't all live in each other's pockets and like all social groups there was different levels of friendship and not everyone enjoyed Christina.
@@left6228 That makes sense, I think I was influenced by seeing the video where Nelson was talking about Christina's death and in the background his friends were making jokes about Christina, Nelson just ignored them stared at the camera. I think he had a lot of compassion for her. I'm sure you know more than me since you were there.
@@marigold7250 I'd agree with you there regarding Nelson, whilst on occasion he could be quite cutting he was genuinely a lovely man and he treated Christina impeccably. To what extent she was cognisant of what a good friend he was I'm not certain as she was often away with the fairies so to speak but she seemed to always appreciate seeing Nelson and they'd often turn up places together.

I hope that u do the Christina deep dive sooner rather than later. it's clear that she's a fan favorite. I like the camera dude, too. I think its because watching his insecurities play out on camera helps me (like in a cathartic way) put some of MY more superfluous insecurities into a(n) more manageable perspective.

Oh HELL yes a new video!!!! Can you tell us what happened to the rest of Nelson Sullivans videos? It was rumored through the 5th avenue project that his brother was in possession of them, but then he passed away. Maybe they were donated to a library or something?
Thanks for another great vid, Retro. I’m curious, how did you come to know and follow the club kids? Was it thru Nelson’s videos or?? Maybe the next time you do a deep dive on something you could explain that, I’m just curious… I love the work of Nelson Sullivan and I am so grateful his work is appreciated all these years later. I’m also curious about his special relationship with Christina, (what a character) and seriously hope more of his vids are released. I wonder if we could start a petition or something.
Just think , all he had to do was say it was self defense that night The guy was a drug dealer and we all know how cops were back then or rather the system. Both of them would have never been charged cause the DA would have no proof that it wasnt self defense. Then now Micheal and prob some of his friends would be very well off with tv shows and products clothing lines the works. Micheal would prob be a club owner now...the whole thing is sad beyond belief. I remember one time at the World...I think it was Micheal they all looked alike to me... with some girl and they wouldnt keep walking down these stairs and I pushed him and yelled "MOVE GURL" he looked back and saw I was a regular of the latino pier queen gays and said nothing but gave me a creepy smile...but i got him to keep walking jajajaja.
With Christina, as a native German, she isn't a native German. I hate to say this, but how she talks w her fake accent, Germans do not sound or pronounce words as she does. For instance, the W in German is pronounced as a V. When she says words with the W, she clearly pronounces the W with ease as where a German, we have a difficult time making the W sound Was. Same with the V sound. In German it's mainly pronounced as a F, she clearly pronounces it like an American with a northern accent. I love hearing and watching the rare vids. I know her accent and facade she portrays is her image. You can invent yourself anyway you want and she has done a amazing job. No disrespect to get. But this comment is referring to Align saying she German. We all know she isn't, but gives great scenery and content for us to watch. Nelson captured a hidden society in which very people say or knew about. Rest his soul. A true gent who deserves nothing, but praise and thanks for the many hours he captured on film. Thank you retro room bringing up Christina. She is far by the most interesting of the characters nelson captured on film. Too bad he did not get more and lived. Back to Christina and her accent. Watch the one video where Nelson records her going to a photo shoot and she leaves her glasses. Her real Pennsylvania accent comes out when she is asking from the street to a flat above about leaving her sunglasses. Listen to her complete sentence and how she calls them horse blinders referring to her shades.
How about acculturation process and her speech being impacted by the environment in which Christina was raised? You can’t tell whether she was the first generation German growing up by watching just a few videos. Also, I did hear where she said V instead of W on one of the videos.

I would like to add this yes I would like to find out so much more about Christina she deserved so much more than what she got and how she has been portrayed also I just like to add that club kid Angel was actually a nice kid and yes I understand he was a drug dealer but do you really think it was okay for Michael Alig to kill him maybe now they can both be at peace but I am still not in agreeance with what he did in those days

He’s not the greatest person in the world, but the world isn’t great either. Seems like everyone was trying to make a dollar off of him. He deserved better. To try to be rehabilitated and heal. No one gave him the chance.

It was on Christmas Eve technically, but the cops were not called until 3 am. There is a four-hour-window unaccounted for. The toxicology showed Xanax and fentanyl, as well as H. There was a flood of fent on the scene at the time, but, Ben Silva, is the person that watched him die and didn't call the cops for hours 🙄. The NYPD was less than forthcoming with help in any way. As for why he didn't live with his mom...he was a New York boy at heart, he knew that's where art is relevant. Plus, Elke, his mom -has her own issues...she threw him out the last time he visited before he died. There is a reason Club Kids saw each other as family. Most our blood relatives suck.
