    Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on UA-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on UA-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on UA-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

    Poco was born from the ashes of the old Buffalo Springfield Band in 1968. They put out a lot of great music over the coming years! Rip Rusty Young, and Paul cotton.

    Oh man, you've just gotten into a rabbit hole of incredible music. Poco was an unbelievable force of music in the 70's and 80's featuring SO many artists who went on to create wonderful music with other groups. It's a deep dive and well worth it.

    I saw them in south lake Tahoe in the early 70s. I lived up there and it was great!

    Great stuff by one of country rock's pioneer bands. Of course, it had Rusty Young's fingerprints all over it with his wizardry on the pedal steel and banjo.
    I was blessed to see them perform a number of times back in the 70s, the last time being at the long defunct Palomino Club in North Hollywood.
    They put out lots of great stuff in their earlier years. "Bad Weather" being a personal favorite.

    Wow! The orchestral sounds along with banjo and beautiful harmonies, 🎉. Where was I when they were out there! I was sleep walking on this group. Thanks!❤

    Good reaction. Poco was an excellent live band, daw them a few times as opening act. My favorite LP by Poco is "A Good Feeling to know" country rock. Rusty Young plays Pedal Steel guitar and tears it up on many a song. Pickin'Up the Pieces was their breakout record. If you want hear violin/fiddle and Banjo check out Old and In the Way. Jerry Garcia shines playing banjo and Nashville legend Vassar Clemetts is on fiddle. Bought the record in '74 when it came out and it mentioned Union Grove N. C. in the cover. Next April 3 of us went to the Fiddler's Convention in Union Grove, 125,000
    fans and agreat weekend. Americana music to the max.

    This 1973 song was written by Richie Furay (his last album before leaving the group) about the recently deceased Gram Parsons, who was his band-mate in The Flying Burrito Brothers. Gram Parsons was a foundational figure in modern country-rock music. Keith Richards wrote "Wild Horses" as a collaboration with Gram (Mick contributed most of the lyrics).

    • @zumalot
      @zumalot 5 місяців тому +2

      All due respect, I don't recall Furay ever being a member of The Flying Burrito Brothers, but confess to not being a FBB expert. I was a huge Byrds fan and even purchased Sweetheart of the Rodeo which disagreed with my ears. Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman were the only two original Byrds left and entered Gram Parsons. I think he only lasted for Sweetheart and was on to his next project. The days of Mr.Tambourine Man and Turn! Turn! Turn! were gone and so was I, but I hold on to the memories. Peace.

      @@zumalot true Furay went on to Poco I think

    • @zumalot
      @zumalot 5 місяців тому

      @@Hartlor_TayleyTY for your reply. The easiest progression for whats left of my memory concerning Richie Furay was Buffalo Springfield (founding member), POCO (founding member) and Souther, Hillman, Furay Band. I believe it was during SHF, Furay made his conversion to Christianity which has stuck to this day, a wonderful thing to me, but can be for another thread. Peace.

    This was the song that got me listening to Poco in the 70’s and I still do! Here’s another to add to that list of prog songs (and bands) that have sadly been forgotten, from their self titled 1975 debut album (which is a great one, mixed by Alan Parsons, he went on to produce their second album "Somewhere I've Never Travelled’ in 1976 ) “Ambrosia” the song “Drink of Water”.

    Poco emerged from the ashes of Buffalo Springfield (Pickin' Up the Pieces). This isn't really typical of them, most of their stuff was shorter upbeat country-inflected gems. They are often compared to the Eagles but they were better. Rusty Young did impossible things on pedal steel. A criminally underrated band. They were so so good

    A good one though like others have said most of their tunes were more country, soft rock/pop.According to certain interviews one of the bands the movie Almost Famous is based on as POCO never quite reached a very high level of popularity though they had a following.Definitely worth reacting to more songs by this band!Someone else recommended Loggins and Messina’s Angry Eyes and I believe you may enjoy that one even more!Poco was the first to blend country with soft rock and had an influence on many bands like The Eagles and others!

    Randy Miesner from The Eagles was also in this group as well. Timothy went to The Eagles after Randy left. Randy is more talented IMO. Try and react to “Take It To The Limit” by The Eagles to hear the voice of an Angel
