This proud Brit-American i.e. "Anglophile" enjoyed this so much , I had to watch it again! Cheers from Yankee New England where we still have some British traditions here like teas, Scottish Highlander games and bagpipes and a restaurant chain called 'The British Beer Company"! We also have many towns and cities named after the ones in England like Boston, Cambridge, Plymouth, Chatham, etc. The apples didn't fall far from the tree, we just sailed across the 'Big Pond" and revolted! lol ♥♥🍻🫖💐💜💜

You're only one part of America. The whole is a lot more complicated than that. Nor are the town names exclusive to the East Coast. Many English names are found on streets and towns throughout the US. I don't think Highlander games are "British." What you watched was one small facet of life in England which does not include the vast majority as the title seemed to imply.

It's weird how most people feel about .. rules and laws, it's a very British approach, establish rules of a game and ask respect, that's how order make us feel humans, seems it's very British being disgusted of corruption, of breaking the rules, of cheating and being traitors, of lying and being unfair, that's the biggest problem of the global humankind, loving sports games but in a very fair play way. ...which a lot of big bosses rulers of the world have no intentions to respect at all. Therefore, you can always give lessons of ...how to feel BRITS, of how to care about rules and order, of how to stay away from corruption and dirty games, it's still a huge asset to be exploited. A century ago, a British property used to work like a restrained community or maybe, enlarged family, any castle had an agriculture farming business, still crucial these modern times, having oxygen factories all surroundings a precious mansion, saving water and having the... Spa swimming pool all around the property border, can you imagine it? African countries suffer of extreme fragile positions all the times, have you ever noticed? Time for them to feel BRITS building up new families like gorgeous English countryside, there was room for everybody, like a real supermarket shopping center serving the family, there was the catering service, the articrafts man, the taylor man, the public events organizer, you name it, modern lifestyle it's about having festival happenings all the time in the backyard, can you imagine it?

Very cute inspiring documentary, I feel British since.. Shakespeare's ages... because a Queen decided that BRITS deserve to have a theater entertainment of a kind, because she was like a Mother and the whole Kingdom was her family to take care about. This doc is revealing us how it works the very British style that.. went much far beyond UK borders, hanging on the Past, on the ancestors assets, on the family heritage and fortune, on being conservatives, preserving things and assets, on being...on defence all the time. The last challenges instead are pushing people break the limits once again, wishing you guys, never give up the Shakespeare's effect, making of a British property a theater entertainment asset for having guests all the time, that's the point. Trying to seduce wealthy people make strategic investments bringing their homes a bit of British spirit is crucial if not vital. The biggest question above all, why can not other countries live like BRITS but then so many immigrants need to live in UK to feel... respectable humans?

Heavens to murgatroyd, Brits seem to be having an identity crisis. Perhaps it's easier for an Aussie to describe it, from a distance. It's your language, accent(s), art, history, political systems, symbols and ethnicity. Yes, ethnicity - Anglo Celts (put simply) - if that is retained more or less intact, and that archipelago off the coast of continental Europe, is Great Britain, which has never been fully realized because the rapproachement with Ireland is incomplete. Post-Brexit and what looks like the demise of the United Kingdom, Great Britain as England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland could be its natural destiny.
As far as manner and behaviour is concerned, Brits are a well-balanced lot; not so shut down as the Japanese, nowhere near as loud as most of the rest, yet still spontaneous.

The House of Lords should be reformed properly and not abolished. The Lords should be a meritocracy of Junior Peers, Life and Hereditary peerage back in. Accession committees would decide who moves up the meritocracy. Sons and daughters who inherit an hereditary peerage would enter the Lords as Junior peers. Hereditary peerage should be earned, not abolished. Blair hated the independence of hereditary peers. They owed no allegiance to him.

I wonder if this was made for Americans? Bottom line, every culture has it's ideals and in every culture, almost nobody lives up to the ideals - that's why they are called 'ideals' instead of ' norms.' If you want to know what the British are like, go to the pubs. There you'll meet a cross-section of society (of course, visit different pubs because not every class of person lives in the same neighborhood), and you can draw conclusions about how the British really ARE, rather than the ideals they aspire to. (Mind you, it can take a very long time to enter into a British person's circle and start to hear what they are saying and thinking about you when you're not there. Don't assume that because they are civil, they like you. They may be slicing you to ribbons the minute you leave the room. The one characteristic the British have in spades is hypocrisy, but don't expect them to admit it.)

Well, everybody can recycle this very healthy tradition, ancestors lectures of life are still the best friends. Having the roses garden, the winter garden and the tea garden, from my behalf. .. like Olympic champions in 190 countries world wide if possible, some other nations need support to become trully BRITS about these matters, some of them in this TV doc, ask them if they would be happy, watching their siblings abroad living ...by BRITS rules at all in their birth place. Well, if you take a closer look, I did not see yet the hazelnuts plantation, every countryside property, have you ever tried to imagine people enjoying the vegetal butter instead of the animals one? Roses are a very British trend, then why not giving branches to climb up other climbing species? Green beans are spectacular guys, the most precious vegetal proteins on our diet, can you realize this? Cucumbers can bloom all the time of the year as long as you harvest the fruits young, cucumbers juice is very healthy rich of C Vitamin...very good for skin care as well.
