    You can see the scratch becasue applied paint is softer then what is on panel. So when you sand it down smooth, you will remove "new" paint quicker during polishing becasue it is softer. In good light and viewing angle you can see how light reflects in the groove. Anyway - its a good job, and much better than having scratched car and cheaper than paining whole panels.

    Use a tungsten block to cut bach the paint initially. Theyre specifically designed to knock back paint runs without taking off so much clear around it

      When the lines are shallow and thin, the Mirka scraper knows how to take out the color you filled and you have to repeat everything, Mirka is a good thing and I use it, but when the lines are wide and there is more material to sand

    • @Amddetailing

      the base is used 2k, it is diluted with an acrylic thinner, if you use an acrylic base, then the absorbent goes into it and that's it

    Hello. Very nice vid.
    I use 1 part base
    1 part clear
    1 part quick hardener
    Most of the times i cant fill the scratch fully on 1st go. When it dries, i can see how the color settled down. I'm applying maximum amount. If i add more, it would spill.
    The paint is thin after some time on the open. Shall i wait longer for thicker substance?
    Thank you :)

    • @Amddetailing
      @Amddetailing  Місяць тому +1

      It is always filled thicker, from the first time, it is never directly touched to the damage, when the paint is applied to the damage, you have to remove a few millimeters and let the paint fill it by itself.
      I always leave it to dry for at least 4 to 6 hours

    Nice upload as always! One question, why didn't you used the UV Clear Coat this time? I've noticed the repairs with the UV Clear are usually better than with standard clear and hardner combo. Cheers

    • @apollo5751
      @apollo5751 Місяць тому

      I've tried locating UV cured clear in the USA to no avail. I've asked major suppliers personally, nope.

    • @Amddetailing
      @Amddetailing  Місяць тому

      I could do with that too, but since it's currently autumn and there's less sun, it's immediately more difficult to dry with a UV coating, and it takes a long time to dry with a lamp because the damage is quantitatively large

      it's not a problem, the problem is that people don't want to paint the entire element and spoil the factory coating, because later they have a problem when the car is sold, because more and more customers think that the car was in a big accident as soon as it was painted.
      Put yourself in a situation when you are buying a car and you see that something has been painted, you immediately have doubts and avoid such a car.

      yes, it can be seen from 5 centimeters from the car and it looks like a scratch made of wood and because that side is polished and there are no scratches on the coating caused by washing and the color is refreshed, but after a few washes it will all blend together and not be noticeable
