The only Bond title that became an awesome movie AND an awesome video game. Actually, I would say the video game, GoldenEye 007, is even more classic than the movie.
I think that was a lady that got air bagged (ejector seated) on the chair. Also a good way to damage your tail bone, and suffer a tremendous amount of pain, with a stunt like that. I hope she had hazard pay or health insurance for pulling that off.
JD RS the chair was probably designed to protect the user or there was a cushion where she landed. Though judging by the crashing sound I’m not so sure lol.
Same here. I was 7 years old. And actually, I had the game on the 64 first. One day I was in Blockbuster with my parents, saw the cover, recognized that "HOLY SHIT, they made my game into a movie" and had to have it. I've seen every Bond move in the theatre since Tomorrow Never Dies, including some of the one off releases of the classics.
The best Bond n Q talks...lots of humour... i guess hav watched it a million times already.. Its like a quick capsule whenever m running low on some Bond fun
I love how Jack Wade asks if Bond does any gardening. It's a reference to the fact that James Bond's name was taken off a gardening book by Ian Fleming when he created the character
Bloody hell mate! Ian fleming took the name from an ornithologist named James bond, who's book "birds of the west indies" was among fleming's collection of Books.
Yes I don't think I articulated my point properly, I mean that the name was taken BY Ian Fleming off of a book, but you're right it was ornithology not gardening
I thought Cleese was funny but he was a finisher for an era of bond about to sign off. It took me a little while to get used to him but Ben Wishaw does a great job. The guys at the studio needed to make Bond more hip in general and Wishaw was a good choice for a younger and more authentic Q.
@@senuforpalace8148 Eh.... I mean he's 'ok'... but out of place. Like when he got stung by Sylva's bug when he plugged the laptop in and immediately realized he fucked up big time.... Desmond would never have made that mistake.
5 months late, but the reason behind this joke is that "The writing's on the wall" was an idiom that meant that doom was being indicated. In this case, a pen writes, doom came to Fred. "Along with the rest of him" was just icing on the cake.
One of the unique things about this Bond film as opposed to the others is the music, I pretty much like it and the Goldneye game almost got it the same.
No phase plasma rifle in the 40 watt range, 12 gauge auto loader (pump or auto shotgun), 45 long slide with laser sighting (semi automatic pistol), or the uzi 9mm.

That explains why it's LHD. Still, it was a bit shit. I think the E36 M3 was also available and actually was in production: that'd be my choice if I had the option.
Lol Bond picking up Q's sandwich like its a possible gadget. "Don't touch that! That's my lunch". The series isn't the same without Llewlyn, though Ben Whishaw does a good job.
Ege Erdem Q is not suppose to be a scientist. He's suppose to be some techy type person who supplies bond with high tech gadgets. He never was a scientist.
are you **** serious? to be able to make such gadgets they need to colculate everything carefully gadgets bond use are not some cheap simple stuff you can buy from 1$ store
Ege Erdem yeah any person who makes high tech stuff knows that but they don't have to be a scientist to o that. you can be really smart and do something a scientist can do without being a scientist.
Goldeneye was the first movie I saw the start of, but I never finished seeing it. The first bond movie I saw from start to end was The spy who loved me, actually one of the better films IMHO. I'm pretty sure I played the game Goldeneye on N64 way before I ever saw through all of Goldeneye movie. When I saw the movie I was surprised of how close the movie was to the game (or vice versa). I probably liked the movie more just bc I liked the game so much...
With Ben Whishaw (the young guy as you put it), I personally don't think it was a smart move. I think John Cleese did a good job in Die Another Day. but compared to Desmond Llewelyn, you are right. Neither of them will be able to match the talent that Desmond had in the role.
They did the same thing with M. M was always male until Goldeneye- now a female is playing M, and is easily the best actor to do so. That said, Whishaw did an okay job as Q, but definitely not as good as Llewelyn, at least in my opinion.
Ah, back when computers and laptops were still "new" enough for them to have the beeps and whirring sounds sound effects usually heard with futuristic gadgets.
Nope unfortunately ive yet to see it. Why do you think it was a mess? Ive heard its one of the best yet.....and thats the whole point! The connection between Bond and Q has always been fun, thats what makes those scenes so enjoyable to watch. This video is a perfect example of that.
"Didn't they say the Pen was mightier than the sword?"
"Thanks to me, they were right."
Q is an absoulute freaking boss.
Same scene after the mannequin is blown up:
Q: "Don't say it!"
Bond: "The writing's on the wall?"
Q: "Along with the rest of him."
God I love this movie, the story, the action, the dialogue, the music, every scene is pure gold, best 007 film imo
"Need I remind you, 007, that you have a license to kill. Not to break the traffic laws"
BrokenWolf1990
"...I wouldn't think of it." Which Bond then proceeds to do later in the tank scene.
Tank- Hold my carnage
Best one 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
well he didn't lie, he didn't use the car to break the law. Q never said anything about a tank.
Don't touch that! That's my lunch...
Lol, my favorite line from Q in the movie.
Love how Wade calls Bond Jimmy, Jimbo and so on.
Immortalfire Probably they wanted to make Wade as an American stereotype
@@ruantengyi No way
Brosnan's chemistry with Desmond Llewelyn was top notch
The writing is on the wall... the pair of them nearly break character and crack up! :D
Yeah I clocked that too, especially Q.
And now that's the title of an actual Bond song
90s kids... this is our Bond...PB the most handsome man alive in dis planet
Definitely pierce Brosnan is a most handsome actor in this globe No one can beat in front of him ahead in terms of beauty.
Goldeneye will always have a special place in my heart because it's the first Bond film I saw. :)
One of the best Q briefings in the series.
The only Bond title that became an awesome movie AND an awesome video game.
Actually, I would say the video game, GoldenEye 007, is even more classic than the movie.
And a re-imagining.
but a rubbish film.. Brosnan start well but the scripts for his other Bond films were awful, especially Die another Day.
Don't touch that. Its my lunch :)
That’s the thing with Q you don’t really know if it’s his lunch or not
For all we know it could be a grenade like the pen
Q just leaves Subway sitting around.
lol I almost died laughing when the guy got trapped in the phone booth and the guy got launched by an office chair

@@maxfrankow1238 They probably had the actress land on a cushion and added the crash sound in post-production.
Golden Eye was the first Bond movie I ever watched.
Pierce brosnan was my first known bond.I grew up watching his films.
I watched the Bond films as a kid, but it was GoldenEye that really hit the spot.
Same.
Same, but I played the game first. My very first introduction to Agent 007.

....O-oh. Um...I might have...just realized that...the line seemed so ridiculous, I thought it was literal.
Felix lost his leg in the licensed to kill
"Oh grow up, 007!"
I miss the old Q (RIP Desmond Llewelyn)...Too Bad they never bought back John Cleese, not as R like in DAD, but as the new Q.
Actually he was R in The World is not enough. He was Q in Die Another Day and I think Tomorrow Never dies?
Cleese was only in TWINE and DAD
I thought Cleese was funny but he was a finisher for an era of bond about to sign off.

I was LMAO with this scene. The leg cast and telephone booth were GENIUS!!!
God rest the original Q. He was a awesome guy!

"A typical leather belt." "Q, I'm familiar with that device."
Probably my favourite Q scene from any Bond film
"It's tested for one 007!" & "Don't touch that! That's my lunch!"

Excellent! Just the thing for unwinding after a rough day at the office.
He does gardening alright... 😆 😂

Ah Q, one of the most memorable characters alongside Bond himself.
god, this scene alone is better than most entire bond films.
The reason why the BMW was not used for any real action was because that car was a prototype and the company didn't want it damaged.

Goldeneye is probably one of my fave out of the franchise and I actually liked Peirce as Bond
mine too, best villains, Natalya is one of the best bond girls, the score
In real life, Desmond Llewelyn was quite a stranger to technology. He didn't even know how to use key cards for hotel rooms.
That's really funny knowing he did a credit card commercial as Q one time. Talking about how it works and how to use it. Lol.
Max Power Tanginamo Bobo KA!!!!

.....oh there is Q! Just wonderful!!
If anyone likes to know which pen that is:
It's the Parker Jotter ballpoint in stainless steel, it retails for approximately €15,-
For €15 it had damn well better come with a Class 4 grenade.
He drove an Aston Martin twice throughout the saga. My favorite was in Die Another Day with the new Aston Martin Vanquish (new at the time).

It’s part of the original OST by Eric Serra
It's funnier because if you look closely James typed some random things on the laptop before the phone booth worked. He set it off.

Very doubtful. It's an old saying.
