  • I come to this location pretty often as it's great for foxes and roe deer. We saw a lot, so please enjoy the footage! We also have a trail cam to check on.

    I love foxes but I find them so hard to photograph! What do you prefer, foxes or deer?

    • @checkermi

      I prefer foxes especially in winter because they have a beautiful pelt. I like the red color and it is a
      challenge to photograph a Fox.

      I have been photographing Red Fox and various species of Deer for years. Just recently though I have gone to town on Muntjac and Fox photography. I like them both because both are extremely skittish and challenging to photograph. But when you get some nice images, all them hours of dressed like a tree was worth it! :-)
      An excellent video by the way, stunning images of Fox and Roe.....loved it! :-)

      I prefer Foxes but locating them and getting them to stand still long enough to photograph...while I have a camera is challenging! I got halfway lucky once and had one run across the road and stopped. I was able to park and take a couple quick shots before it ran off into the woods. Deer on the other hand is much simpler.

      I love Foxes , I attempted to photograph them for months but where I live there are very very few foxies because of damn hunters and the lack of food , I only got one photo of a fox

    wow amazing footage, I need a wildlife lens, i vlog wildlife but my footage is with a vlog camera and normal lens.
    also i cant believe the fox and deer just chilling together! for some reason i thought the deer would run from a fox.
    so lucky to see a fox.
    ive seen loads of deer but no fox yet.

    I'm intrigued that you sling your camera with 500mm lens fitted just from the camera attachment points. I was always told that this places a huge load on the lens mount on the camera....

    Awesome video Rob, and amazing to see the fox and roe deer together like that! The camera set-up scene was very slick - was that using the Osmo Pocket on your chest harness? Looking forward to seeing the trail camera footage!

    Robbieeeeeeeee!!!!! nice video,keep the vids coming. im about to release my next one on Saturday. how do you like the 500mm pf? im unsure if i should buy the F4 or the PF.

    • @RobBlight
      @RobBlight  5 років тому +1

      I think the f/4 is going to produce better images, but obviously you can't just carry it around casually like I do with the PF. So it's up to you and how you want to shoot. If you're using a tripod and gimbal then the 500 or 600 f/4 probably makes more sense.

    Hi Rob, I've just subscribed and have also JUST ordered the Nikon 500mm PF lens. I was wondering what make of strap you are using as it looks excellent. I use a Black Rapid at the moment but it never feels comfy on my shoulder so am looking around for something else. Cheers !!

    I've found an area with a handful of active fox dens. There's fox poop and little fox tracks EVERYWHERE! And the dens have fresh earth coming out.
    I'm keeping my distance so I don't disturb the den and force them to relocate.
    But can anyone give me some tips of a possible good time of day during March to see them come out or roam around? I watched the dens for 5 hrs today and saw none lol but I figure that's normal?

    Good pictures and interesting video! But what are you filming with, there's some crazy "jumps" while you're waking and talking. Could it be the stabiliser overreacting or something?

    Love your footage... Q can you provide me to links to your Atamos cable and hot shoe. I assume settings and connection is the same for the D500. Is it touch screen? Thank you 😊

    • @RobBlight

      I think they are both on my kit page under vlog gear. Check the video description.

    • @FredericBonneauPhotography
      @FredericBonneauPhotography 5 років тому

      I did find it on your vlog page but not the cable. I believe it does not come with such cable. That’s the link I need or the specs on what cable to fit my D500 (same as your D850). Also is the Atamos touch screen? Thank you.

    • @RobBlight
      @RobBlight  5 років тому +1

      @@FredericBonneauPhotography The cable is definitely on my kit page. Look for the Atomos HDMI cable. And yes the monitor is touch screen. One tip if you do pick one up - in the D850 settings set the HDMI output range to "limited" to get correct colour/contrast (this isn't documented anywhere!).

    Gorgeous animals! I do my best to educate people that these ARE NOT felines and are in fact canines! But would the farmer that claimed to have killed 300 in one day listen to me? Nope! So jealous as my fox exploits are practically non existent! :(

    • @RobBlight
      @RobBlight  5 років тому +2

      300 in one day? To even claim that comes across as a bit psychopathic, lol. But tell me about it - foxes are difficult to get good shots of. Even once you've found a good location you have to keep going back.
