  • This is how you Eat Indian Thali properly!!! 🇮🇳
Today we went to a Pure Indian Vegetarian Thali Restaurant in Meghalaya, India! 🇮🇳
Our Friend ‪@kyakaruvlogs2784‬ showed us how to Eat Indian Food Properly and in the right way. For us as German's eating with the Hand is totaly not normal, but we still gave our best, and it was nice to have a local guide us how to do it correct.
Indian Food is so much diverse and Flavorful then all the Other Food Cultures we ever ate!
We really enjoyed the Indian Food Taste and the last awesome day in North East India 🙏🏼🇮🇳
We definitely recommend coming to North East India and try the delicious Food and see the amazing Nature!
    Cheers guys!

Yeah. He really taught you to eat in Indian style. Eating with hand is hygienic as you wash your hands before you eat. The taste you experience while eating with hand is unique. A sort of muscle exercise and you can feel the hotness of food which stimulates and prepares your brain for what you are going to eat. Don't use spoon to eat rice and curry . Indian thali is a combination of all sorts of tastes as well as a wholesome food with all the required nutrients. But really both of you are Amazing... you people learnt many things. Thanks to Kariko. ❤

The custom of eating with hands in India has a deep cultural, historical, and scientific significance. Here are some reasons behind the Indian science of eating with hands:
Connection with food: Eating with hands creates a direct physical connection between the food and the individual. It enhances the sensory experience of eating by allowing one to feel the texture, temperature, and consistency of the food before putting it into the mouth. This tactile experience can lead to a greater appreciation and enjoyment of the meal.
Touch and taste receptors: The hands are covered with touch receptors that can sense the texture and temperature of food. When the hands come into contact with the food, these receptors send signals to the brain, enhancing the overall taste experience. The combination of touch and taste creates a more wholesome eating experience.
Mindful eating: Eating with hands often encourages mindful eating practices. It promotes slower and more conscious eating, giving the brain ample time to register feelings of satiety. As a result, people may be less likely to overeat and more in tune with their body's hunger cues.
Improved digestion: The act of touching the food with hands is believed to trigger the release of digestive juices and enzymes in the stomach. This is thought to improve digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Additionally, certain traditional Indian meals are served on banana leaves, and the hands may aid in mixing different dishes to enhance flavors and digestibility.
Cultural and spiritual significance: In Indian culture, food is considered sacred, and eating is often seen as a spiritual act. Using hands to eat is believed to show respect and gratitude towards the food and its source. It is also believed to maintain a connection with cultural heritage and traditional practices.

In South India, we mash the rice nicely with our fingers and then add in the rasam mixing it into the rice nicely... It has to be like a soupy consistency... If you are a non vegetarian it goes well with a dry chicken or meat fry... On a cold rainy day, comfort food and for a cold it is very good... Rasam is best in south India... We eat the rice using our fingers, it makes the rice taste better

12:34 That is a Rasgulla..The Rasgulla is better than any other sweet because it has many benefits :
1 Rasgulla is made of Indian cottage cheese which provides you with protein and calcium.
    2. Rasgulla is low in calories.
    3. Provides medicinal benefits such as providing relief in stomach aches and aids in digestion.
    4. Good source of protein and calcium.
    5. Rich in Antioxidants.
    6. Low in fat and cholesterol.
    7. Among most of the other Indian sweets, Rasgullas are relatively light on the body and provides instant energy.
The primary ingredients that go into the making of Rasgullas are cheese curds ( Chenna) and Semolina..So, the nutritional benefits of Rasgullas are derived from these two ingredients.
Cheena in Ragulla provides multiple health benefits such as
    1. Helps in building muscles and overall growth.
    2. Strengthens the bones and teeth.
Cheena is made of curd milk so it is a good source of calcium too..Calcium is an essential mineral required for healthy bones and teeth.. Besides this, Vitamin D present in milk helps in maintaining strong bones.
    3. Apart from this, cheena is good for heart health and improves digestion.
4.Also, chenna in Rasgulla is Good for people trying to lose weight.
As no frying is involved in the preparation of Rasgulla and the sugar syrup used is very thin in consistency, it's less in calories compared to other Indian sweets. This makes it a great sweet dish to have when you are trying to lose weight.
Therefore , " Rasgulla is far better than Gulab Jamun which is just a ball of fat and sugar."
Fact : Kolkata city in India is world famous for it's Rasgulla ..If you want to taste the best Rasgulla, go to kolkata city.

Eating with hands allows for a direct tactile connection between the food and the senses in the fingers and palms. This tactile experience can enhance the enjoyment of food and help individuals fully appreciate the texture, temperature, and consistency of what they are eating.
Triggers the release of saliva and digestive enzymes in the mouth. The tactile interaction with food stimulates the digestive system, which can aid in breaking down the food and preparing it for further digestion in the stomach and intestines.
Individuals are more likely to eat smaller, manageable portions at a time. This can lead to better portion control and potentially reduce overeating.
Eating with hands can promote a sense of mindfulness during meals. Being physically engaged with the food can help individuals focus on their eating experience and be present in the moment, reducing distractions and potential overconsumption. Also make people more conscious of their personal hygiene and the cleanliness of the food they consume. Touching food directly can lead individuals to be more mindful of washing their hands thoroughly before eating.

While it's easy to eat a small/medium sized Gulab-Jamun whole in one bite, it is not easy to eat similar size Rasgulla in single shot (in fact, I have never seen any Indian eat a whole Rasgullah of that size) ... normally, we cut out small pieces with spoon and eat it ... and you can adjust the sweetness by squeezing out some of the sugar syrup by pressing that piece with the spoon against the bowl.
