Hey Dan; I found this page from TEControl's site. Upfront the viola was intriguing but after you continued on with the mini tutorial of how the BBC2 works the flute, ethnic flute and Omnisphere stuff was totally amazing. I do a lot of jingle work in New England and I'm also a brass player (trumpet & trombone). You use the BBC2 like it's an instrument itself. When I play like any other musician my horn is an extension of myself with the horn and that's exactly what you're doing. It's obvious that the BBC2 is not something that works right out of the box but will require practice and discipline to master. With the BBC2 you are an artist, and a master of the BBC2. I've just ordered my own and I'm excited to get to work on it. This tutorial is a great eye opener of the possibilities of the BBC2.
Hello! Nice demo! Q.1: Is it possible to invert the modulating moves? E.g. comparing to your video's intro, tilt the head DOWN for vibrato (or LFO) max, the opposite of what you seem to do? Thx. Aaand Q.2: what gear do I need to connect and control a synth with MIDI 5-pin connectors with your seducing B&BC2? Thx again.
Now that the SWAM Instruments have arrived on the iOS platform, the expressiveness possibilities of the BBC2 become extremely interesting. One question: can you vary the responsiveness of expression parameters so that, f.ex., you don't have to nod or tilt your head as far to express the parameter?
Do you have a local distributor yet? Last time I checked, they did not. That would be kind of risky. What is your return policy? Last time I checked, it worked for TEControl more than for the consumer.
I haven't really worked on the Roli, but what little I have, it has a much steeper learning curve... Plus, it just makes sense to use breath to control wind instruments.
Hello, i have my BBC2, i have downloaded the version 5.0 but my daw presonus studio One 64 bits doesn't recognoist. Need i download the version 5.0 in 64 bits? And other question, how i configure or set the breath controller with my daw studio one and kontakt? Excuse me for my english, i am from spain. Thank you very much!!!!
if it is mostly used for up and down movement then why not jus assign x and y on your pitch joystick - the dynamic pressure velocity i believe is where it is most useful, you could use a pedal for that i guess but by using your mouth you can have way more emotion and accuracy in the pressure because it is like speaking
What about condensation or saliva getting into the device? Doesn't it collect and pool somewhere? Can the moisture damage it? How do you clean it? I looked through the FAQ for this question on your site but didn't find the answer.
First of all i would like to thank you for this video , because you gave me inspiration !!! I bought the tecontrol 2 but i have some questions and i would appreciate if you can help me. It seems very hard to blow to the control. It needs so much pressure to work with the standard settings to get to the top of the blow line in the settings software. Is this normal? and can you tell me what is the normal settings to use the control without take my lung gets out of my mouth !!! also i would like to ask in Kontakt 5 how can i find what cc i have to use so i can set it with the tecontrol software? Thanks in advance. :D
The Tecontrol Team gave me a solution to my problem real real fast. The BBC 2 Tecontrol is real real awesome, and make the vst instruments sounds with unbelievable realism. Also awesome is the support quality of Tecontrol Team. Thank you very much for the response to my problem TEControl.
I have both Roli and TEC for playing Audio Modeling solo instruments. Roli is very hard to play in tune. Playing vibrato is difficult. You have to look at the keyboard while playing. So I have skipped it entirely and only play TEC BBC2 (=Breath and Bite Control). For Viola and Cello: breath controlling speed and pressure of stroke, biting for vibrato intensity and frequency. Learning to make little 'glissandos' (slides) takes a little practice, but it sounds very authentic and romantic. For trumpet I make vibrato by making my breath pulsating quickly like an opera singer. That takes a little practice, too, but it makes the trumpet sound so natural. With TEControl I don't have to look, but I can read the score instead. I usually play accompaniment with my left hand and my feet on a midi pedalboard, since I am an educated church organ player. Please check my videos with Alfred Hollins and Mendelsohn Viola and Church Organ music on my channel.
I can answer that. Yes, they do ship to the USA. I just ordered one about a month ago and it arrived in less than 2 weeks. I ordered it directly from their website.

yesss. Finally someone using a breath controller that actually knows how to control their breath. Great demo. Can't wait to pick one of these up.
Yes.. the viola and flute are from SampleModeling.
The synth is Omnisphere.
Dan, great explanation. You have really gone deep with this stuff. Thanks.
Beautiful to hear and.... funny to see !

Thanks, I have worked on it just as I would any instrument. It really helps give my tracks dynamics and emotion.
Great demo.
Just amazing work! Beautifully played.
Thank you. I enjoy my work
I just ordered one this morning. Hot damn am I excited
How is it?
Thank you for this video. It has helped me, and others, to make a decision on buying this product.

Best thing is you look great when using it
Great demo. Thanks. I'll have to buy one. I hope you get your commission. ;)
that was awesome.

@@NomadeonNick Thanks 🙏🏻
Great stuff - didn't have problems with the Yamaha Manufacturer?
OMG... Mind blown!
Thank you. Please consult a doctor about your blown mind. Sometimes they can be patched and reinflated.
If you want a growl, can't you just literally growl? Or won't the mpc follow fast enough? -- Ian Fritz

Thank you for the video! Would you prefer to control a live keyboard solo with BBC2 or Roli seaboard?
I haven't really worked on the Roli, but what little I have, it has a much steeper learning curve... Plus, it just makes sense to use breath to control wind instruments.
sir,in BBC how much is easy to play air knob to open ? less or more air knob to open ? please please.

TEControl support is not very good at all. Is there anyone out there that can assist with this controller.
At the beginning ,In the treble it soundsmore as a sax is n't it ?
Can it be battery powered to run off a keytar portably? On a stage.

It comes right out of the end of the tube on the left and will land safely on your pants. Moisture won't damage it.
they should add a bib in the package LOL
What about sharing it with another person ? can you have a second mouthpiece ?
Who makes the ethnic flute you use in this vid? Thanks for making it. You convinced me to get my BBC2. I've had it a week and can't leave it alone!
AudioModeling.

Indeed, Νικολαος, fill us in on the solution please.

Thank you for the demo, does the Breath controller give much more expression than an EWI or the new Roland aerophone?
The EWI is a piece of crap, save your money and get this.
Thanks for the advice, assume the same goes for the new Roland EWI?
I haven't used it but I don't think they changed anything. Their support is also beyond terrible.
Do you ship to USA? Or any other seller in USA?
I can answer that. Yes, they do ship to the USA. I just ordered one about a month ago and it arrived in less than 2 weeks. I ordered it directly from their website.
What sample libraries ? No doubt samplemodeling for all, no ?
the ethnic flute is the first one I'm gonna try out ...bye bye Yamaha vl !!!
Too expensive though.
Only obstacle is, I can’t play!

Amazing performance. Although the viola sounds super cheap.
And the flute, as a flutist
and the synth as a real synth player !!!
