My shtf right now is the DDM4A1 also but the OG RiS ii, surefire x300 turbo, arisaka handstop, holosun 515cm on arisaka 1.93, bcm mod 1 grip, magpul sl stock, geissele ssp, radian safety and charging handle.
Whats wrong with a nice lever action? light, handles well, decent ammo supply in 357 and usually 5 or 6 in 30-30. i would think that the idea is to stay away from firefights so as not to get extra holes in your body where you didnt have them to start with.
Why would you have a pressure switch on a shtf rifle? Do we not plan on crawling, crouching, running, moving through brush in a situation like that? I’ve ran those pressure switches before and it doesn’t take much for something to hit that and set off an ad exposing you. Would never run one on a wl.
Light caps are a thing. You can also just unplug the switch. I use One Hundred Concepts light caps. I don't use a light cap on my Inforce b/c its pretty much impossible to accidentally hit the button b/c of the placement and how much pressure it takes to activate it.
If you’re going to run a cap than why even run a pressure pad? It’s faster to run a clicky cap over a pressure pad with a cap on it. There’s more steps involved and more issues to go wrong with that type of setup. Pressure pads make since if you’re running nods. …to each their own.
Around town I am rolling with my P365 XMacro with my Holosun 507K GR and TLR-7 1913 sub. Home defense is CMMG Banshee MkGs 8" 9mm with 33rd mags of Speer Gold dot, along with Streamlight Protac HLX and Holosun 510C. SHTF is Stag15 Tactical 16" with Streamlight Protac HLX, Holosun 403B GR with Holosun HM3X.
My current shtf is actually bigger than yours Clint. It’s an armalite tac18, Arken lpvo, streamlight pro tac weapon light, and mag pul foregrip that I cut the bottom on a 30 degree angle. I feel the 18 inch barrel gives the 5.56 the best ballistic performance with full powder burn to reach out to 5-600 meters accurately. Now obviously it’s not CQB rifle but two pins pulled and a 300blk upper and now we’re rocking and rolling
Handy 308 for me. Less ammo is ok with me. I wouldnt be looking for action nor do I have full auto or a team backing me up while I suppress anyways. 3-15 with rdr on top. 16-18 inch light weight build is perfect.
Hi clint, offer your opinion here, but i go carbine lenghth gas due to increased pressure which will clear extractions better in less than optimal situations. I believe the increased gas pressures is why the military uses carbine gas. Both my 10.5 and 14.5 use carbine.
Agree, (YT) "Tactical Hive" Coch did a great video few of years ago on barrel lengths using reems of paper to show terminal velocity and total fragmentation. If I remember correctly over 2400ftps. Is needed to get total frag , under that...stayed intact and went clean through .
Tip of the day - I keep 2 of the 2032 batteries taped to my slings with 200 mph tape, you can also do the same with 123 batteries as well if you have an optic using those, I position them on the butt end of my slings and they are out of the way...

Shoot, my 7.5 BCA side charger will run with any MK18, I slapped a Sightmark lazer sight on it and I can hit targets out to 750 yards all day long. Its my go to war rifle and it cost a fraction of any gucci rifle. Gives me more money for natty light and Pit Viper shades.

I have an AR with a fat scope. Gave up on the rear iron sight. It's stuffed into the pistol grip. I'd have to slide it back on the rail if I broke my scope.

DDM4A1 RIII comes with an A2 bird cage. I think there are variants with other muzzles, but mine came with A2 bird cage. He's using a huxwrx flow, so I think he has the huxwrx flash hider as well. If you want to use Surefire products, you'll need surefire's muzzle devices as well.
I've got a 10.5" 300 AAC. After mounting the new night vision scope, the IR Illuminator and the external battery pack, the switchpad for my light is way too far forward. I only have picattiny rail on the top. Is there a way to mount the pad on the M-Lok on the side?

the single point sling is great for AR-P'z... You push out and it gets pretty stable if you don't have a stock.
I have a very similar setup, M4A1RIII, sandman s with BPG cover, cloud rein, TA31, offset rmr, Samson stubby foregrip.
Clint, get a KRAM riser for the ACOG! Best thing for proper eye placement and moving it up and over a rear mounted BUIS.

It'll also cause increased parts wear and breakage over time. I'm not saying go with a RLGS 16" or a mid gas 11.5"
But mid gas is great for 13.9 - 16

My MFT pistol grip and BCM vert grip both have storage for this reason. Small lube bottle in back grip and batteries in front grip.

Yes. There are pic rail Mlok adapters you can use. You can also get a switch that directly mounts to Mlok.
