I love this clip! Ripper Collins is my favorite wrestler ever!!! I got to see him in L A. when he used to wrestle on TV with Dick Lane at the mic. What memories! I think Ripper was the best heel ever, closely followed by Roddy Piper. Again, great memories!!!
30:17 From seeing videos from mainland wrestling, Ripper Collins was just an average villain. But in Hawaii, he was incredibly over. Just the simple mispronunciations of Hawaiian names really pissed us all off. Since I was from Hilo, so when he called it “High Low” I got so upset. Pro wrestling at the Hilo Civic Auditorium are some of my best childhood memories. And Ripper was the best villain of all. God speed King Ripper.
I remember back in the late 60's early 70's. my Dad, Mom, 3 sisters and I were going home after a trip to the beach. We noticed Ripper Collins and Mad Dog (Moondog) Mayne in the car next to us. I don't know what started it but a shouting match happened between them and my sisters. About a mile later they turned off the main street. What amazed me was that my Dad did NOT tell us to shut up. What memories.
Remembers King Ripper Collins, Handsome Johnny Barend, Chief Billy White Wolf, Pampero Firpo (The Original Missing Link) Gentleman Jim Brady, Lord James Blears, Beauregard, back in the 60's and 70's on Channel 9 KGMB TV on Oahu, Hawaii TV
The Stuport Wow those days were amazing. I remember Tor Kamaka, The Francis Brothers (Bill and Russ) and Murder Incorporated, which included Jesse Ventura, Steve Strong and The Golden Greek John Tolos.
i never thought about Andre vs Baba match before. That would have main evented anything, anywhere, any time. Did such a 1 on 1 match ever happen? i dont see how it could not have!
I really wish I could find more information on Big Bad Mike! I can't find anything on Big Bad Mike. Ripper Collins was really great on the mic. Just excellent!
now i remember why i hated Lord Ripper Collins... that smerky mouthed voice... he was actually a very very nice man. whenever i would visit family on Oahu every summer we'd go to all the wrestling shows at the Blaisdell Arena or Aloha Stadium... the memories ... huge Siva Afi & Superfly Tui fan
Barry Darsow was never one of the Mongols. It was Newton Tattrie and Nikolai Voloff. Bill Eadie Aka Masked Superstar later became one in the early 70's.
I’m here because I was trying to verify the events of Young Rock. This looks like the finish from the TV show but without Sheik or Rocky Johnson. Can anybody confirm?

You should've seen him in L.A.! He was the best villain ever followed by Roddy Piper!
Jim Atkins Wow, I never knew he had a big run in Los Angeles! What did he do to upset the crowd?
Collins was a tremendous entertainer in the ring and on the mike. Unforgettable facial expressions.
@@stingfan16ify Icompletly disagree- he causes no fear, like Buddy Colt, Sheik and Killer Karl Krupp, etc.!
thanks so much, hope you got more of Ripper

Former WWWF United States Champion Johnny Barend
I never knew there was Polynesian, and Hawaiian wrestling until now very interesting and entertaining

Loved that promo that Hayes delivered!
Mongolian on the left looks like Barry Darsow (aka Krusher Kruschev/Demolition Smash)
Man, that ain't nobody BUT "The Repo Man!"
RayNDeere He was the mongolian
Both Darsow and Eadie started out as Mongols

I clicked on this to watch the promo machine and it starts at 3:45
Sivi Afi I think was Cocao Samoa....?
Young Rock brought me here...

Young Rock is far from accurate unfortunately. It's a cute show but not close to the real events when it comes to wrestling.
Chief Maivia was 44 and Rippee Collins was 48 wow Maivia looked older due to living the island life as a child to his 30s
great to see Mr. Darsow already toting a strap as a Mongolian after Greg Gagne sent him out there with no money in his pocket lol
13:17 😂😂😂
You got more videos?
☺😊😀
Tama Tonga looks like Haku
Tama Tonga/Tonga Kid/Samoan Savage
👍🏻
The High Chief, R.I.P., was a great wrestler. As an announcer? Not so much.
Nor a promoter. He ran this territory. Other wrestlers who were friends of his would come in to try to help him out but it folded pretty quick.
Lol Chief watched $20,000 Pyramid
Classic real Wrestling something vince knows nothing about!
For all you young millennials WWE marks that is the Rock's grandpa high chef!
Peter Maivia looks very bloated and very ill. :(
