- Bad Religion isn't just a punk rock band...nope...they're THE punk rock band. Bad Religion is one of the most diverse, universal, and creative bands in the music industry. Here's a classic from '93!
Recipe For Hate | Epitaph [1993]
3:08 Johnette coming in with the "IT STRUCK A NERVE" always gives me chills. This is one of my faves.
The chorus with Johnette Napolitano gives me the chills.
That u knew who did that chorus.. Iuv that!!
This comment is overrated
Bad Religion is probably one of the most underrated bands ever. It’s hard to believe this song has less than 1 million views after more than 12 years.
It is well known and appreciated for good reasons to the right people.
The others don't know them for the same opposite good reasons. 🤷🏻
I agree
Bad Religion is one of those bands that should play halftime at Superbowl, but society will never allow.
Great song, bad religion is hands down the best band ever. Their music is so complexed and grounded plus the melodic sound is epic, Greg graffin is a phenomenal vocalist and so intelligent
daoust26 I dont wanna live in a world without melody
I like your profile pic.
Top 10 for sure and so underated
Best band ever? Calm down spanky
@@Ioweuaname I'm sorry did I ask for your irrelevant opinion. Sit down child, you don't know punk rock or what makes a great band. Go listen to your Taylor Swift.
The second chord in the progression makes me feel like I can do anything with my life.
best comment ever :)
Why?
Right !!!?!
Marcos Roberto it’s
So good.... that progression is genius!!!
I’m referring to the second I close my eyes with female singer....😘💓🎵
This song gives me chills.
My favorite Bad Religion song, wow what a song, classic
"Every day I wander
In negative disposition
As I'm bombarded by superlatives
Realizing very well that I am not alone
Introverted
I look to tomorrow for salvation
But I'm thinking altruistically
And a wave of overwhelming doubt
Turns me to stone"
My favorite lyrics ever
good memories from my youth. thank you BR for such beautiful and inspiring songs.
Absolutely, after listening to many BR tunes, I have come to see that there is a significant amount of intelligent content in the lyrics. Integrating intelligence and punk music has changed my thinking and attitude towards punk. The "regular guy" deal lends a different spin also.
They are a great band and I am so happy to have reconnected with BR. It's all good !
What a GREAT band !
They are commie buffoons , nothing intelligent to be had.
one of their best songs !
one of the bests punk rock bands of all time
I don't care what anybody says, this is an amazing song with beautiful lyrics!!! Bad Religion is timeless, Greg Graffin is a fucking GENIUS!!! ^_^
When I first got Recipe for Hate I thought it was awful, but every time I've listened to it since then it's climbed another spot higher on my list of favorite albums
Bad Religion is THE punk rock.
This video is basically what goes on in my brain constantly
yes its good. They are pretty similar in sound to pennywise but I will always say Pennywise is better just facts.
I haven't listened to BR since the 90's and im going back in time checking their stuff out. I kinda just forgot about them and I gotta catch up, some 2000's songs are great. Hardcore melodic punk. Thats the shit.
Love this band and song. It's hard to get better than Bad Religion :)
Bad Religion fucking rules, i have been into then since i was a teenager and i'm 33 years old!
It's the lyrics and guitar style for me.
This song never gets old.
The parts with Greg and the chick harmonizing together is amazing!
Bad religion will always hold a place in my heart
i love the early 90s punk rock or just rock videos lol.....
one of the best song ever!
Remember to try and not to judge others on your life experience. There is more suffering in this world than any one of us could possibly bear.
Open your Mind and your Heart will follow. 🖖
sends chills thru my body every time i hear this song.
I guess it struck a nerve.
I was there when this was airing on havocTV I was barely starting high school and still payed attention.. I liked being anti social and knowing bands you didn't pay attention too.🤤
A thousand times great Song! Best BR record and a GOAT one indeed
breath-taking song! I like how the whole album sound. It was a denser sound than that of their previous records. I m not sure that I like R4H better than Stranger than fiction; but this song tips the scales for sure
keep carrying the torch. i first heard br in the late 80's/early 90's. their new music is just as good as the old. they are a timeless band that will never be surpassed.
I know, right? I really can't believe I forgot about them either... How do you forget about a great band like this, with so much influence on your life?
Still, I forgot about a lot of music I had in my old cassette bin... Been so busy the last several years. I've been fixing that and going back through some great old albums lately. =D
Thanks once again, BR & Greg!
@renshay I can relate, I have a bad brains tatt on my arm and am 41 years old. Punk has been more than just music to us and we keep it going. This scene will never die....
I first heard this in '94, bought the album as soon as I could, that album is probably the BEST punk album ever, I think because of the backing vocals by Eddie, the lyrics and the engineering/ producing .... Fucking well done. A HUGE step for punk rock.
Yeah. Amazing artists, all of them and Greg deserve all the credit.
I saw their concert on the small town I was born, the threw the best concert the town has ever seen
If there's a purpose for us all
It remains a secret to me
my fave bad religion song ♥
OMG, I L.O.V.E
las dos veces q vi a BR y tocaron esta canción lloré de la emoción una de mis canciones favoritas de BR, si es q no es mi favorita
BR lo mas grande q existe
Man I am so glad I came across this video. First song I heard from BR.
What a memory !
20 years of recipe for hate
90's was the best
Amazing song, this song deserves more recognition
@renshay i agree with you...BR it's a way of life, it's poetry for the planet, for the mind, for humans, BR change the way to live
They were so AWESOME at the Sunset Strip Music Fest a couple of weeks ago. Just as kick-ass today as they were in 93!!
It's hard to forget a band like this ;) but I'm glad you are into them again.
First Time in England for school reason, i was 14.i bought in a shop an album.this album. The change.
The part with the girl is awesome.
The underlying message in this song is so powerful yet conveys a fucking punch to the face realism of what exists in society.
Serio, Bad Religion continua muito bom, e vivos, contrariando toda a história da "musica boa" mundial.
"...They're THE punk rock band."
#enoughsaid
Groovefella B. Cunha the only one with a real message anyway
Sent a murmur though my heart * those backup vocals
This song never fails to open my eyes and heart.
Bad religion is Good
amo bad religion ojala y vinieran a costa rica
Best Bad Religion song ever
Yeah that's good stuff, I also like the ending. Dude just ripping it up and falls to the ground. Awesome.
I find this comforting
@renshay i agree with you...BR it's a way of life, it's poetry for the planet, for the mind, for humans, BR change the way to live...
This song in particular shows their musical genius. Listen to the perfection of 2.46.
One of my favorite songs.
I love this song so much.
Sometimes I just have to say, "prionic? wtf?" and do a quick google search. Susurrations on new maps threw me for a loop too. Only band I have ever had to do that for. Greg+Brett=lyrical genius.
2024 - still love it
The stick, with the guestsinger...it's brilliant, just brilliant.
i think Bad Religion and The Offspring, those are bands that have almost all good songs in album, most of songs im listening is 1 good song per album
I´ve seen em and its the best i`ve ever been 2.
This music remains so relevant to this day. I'm only 20 years old and this song moves me deeply every time I hear it.
Really! I'm 45 and this song really got me into music
I love this song, it reminds me of winter. That's not always a bad thing though. Bad Religion is the best.
Love this song.
best song, period
Thanks for posting a crisp version of this vid!!
its a great song and band of course
love diz song!
THANK YOU very much not many people say that any more
love this song
Fucking MASTERPIECE!
very 90's video.. love the song
Bad Religion is one of the best Punk bands of all time!
i still like this fucking song its been well over 20 years since ive heard it..fucking bad ass..its always a good one to hear when your strungout
"wow this verse sounds about 1% different to the greg verses Oo"
Yeah, I agree. It took me literally years to realize that that was Vedder and not Graffin singing. But the same is true for Jay Bentley's verses in "21st Century" and "Punk Rock Song" - he sounds a good bit like Graffin too.
Anyway, Johnette Napolitano's appearance in this song may be one of the best Bad Religion guest vocals ever, if not the best. She actually adds to the song, rather than just singing in some random place.
Theme song for the next fours years....................................................
excellent song 10 out of 5
this song is pretty sweet, love the band
Anybody else see that "White Zombie" banner behind them during some of their snippets of show footage?
I was but an early teen then, but I vaguely remember reading in RIP magazine (I know,
I know) that the two bands were touring, circa 92-93.
The next big tour was with Green Day and Seaweed, w/ BR opening for GD stateside and GD opening for BR on internationaly dates.
awesome man. the resurrection sounds good. like bringing punk back to what it was. delirium reminds me of that br song. very few bands today are carrying the torch although rise against and time again are worth listening to.
2020 COVID round deux...ugh thanks. Sorry I missed you last Denver show!!!!🤓😫🥺
AMAZING LYRICS
can't believe this song has only had 150,000 views, most of them being mine! One of the best songs this.
That woman doing the harmonies towards the end, that's Johnnette Napolitano from Concrete Blonde. She has appeared in a number of other Bad Religion songs over the years.
I'm wit ya
Greg hetson is wearing a Negazione's shirt!
We used go to a place called Godzilla's . All the locals and non locals would hang out there and some great Punk rock bands would play there too . One of those bands was Bad religion . In those days I would get pushed into mosh pit But Bad Religion
johnette napolitano from concrete blonde.According to album credits eddie vedder also sings background vocals.
Great great song
