    I stumbled onto a technique for going oob before I even really knew what oobe was. Find a radio show or video on youtube, or whatever platform you’d prefer, about a topic your very interested in and will keep your attention for a while (probably at least 2 hours). Lay back, get realxed on a couch, bed or whatever, and just focus on whatever it is your listening to. This will take a while and you may fall asleep, at least the first few times you try it. But if you can hold your focus long enough paralysis will eventual kick in. After you get over the “oh shit” feeling and get comfortable with not being able to physically move it’s all about intent from there. This worked like a charm for me for a few years. I eventually got to where the raido show was not necessary. Probably won’t work for everybody but it’s just another technique have.

      I had a very similar technique I tried when i was around 16 years old.
      I’d put my Walkman on with my cassette and lie in bed and start just rocking until side A finished. I’d flip the cassette and start rocking again until side B finished.
      Then I’d flip the cassette again and just lie there focusing on the music.
      The results were very interesting.

      I had my first lucid dream recently doing this. I was listening to Mathias de Stefano taking about how beautiful life is. Suddenly I was dreaming and he was saying the words in the dream. It was incredibly vivid. I had electrical sensations where my body was vibrating and I even seemed to merge my consciousness with this dream Mathias in exploding intense feelings. At one point in the dream, I had a sudden thought- “Is this a dream?” Then I remembered that you can use a dream trigger. So I thought- “if this is a dream, then I can fly” and I started flying around the room, bumping around on the ceiling. I realised then that I was lucid dreaming and could decide where to go in the dream

    This "method" is just a natural part of spiritual growth. A noble thing, but most people want a technique.

    • @GaryMcKinnonUFO
      @GaryMcKinnonUFO 4 місяці тому

      Lying completely still can be a good method, after 30 minutes or so the brain thinks the body is in a sleep state so releases the chemicals that block movement, then it's easier to separate.

    With regard to asceticism, which I have been practicing in a monastery-like environment for nearly a decade: believe me, the LCS steps up to provide sufficient challenges! You can do spiritual development in a cave, you can do it in the "normal world". Is the latter faster? To me that's equivalent to asking whether one's spouse and children and boss can provide more appropriate and useful challenges than the LCS can itself, directly, to an ascetic; and thus my answer is "obviously not", which is why asceticism has been the choice for those seeking turbo-charged spiritual development for countless millennia.

    We have done 'this' since the dawn of time - But, we have been distracted by material things and what follows in its wake - It's primal to 'paleo-cultures', now and through time - that medicine-men, shamans, etc. have the ability to be in this reality and in an altered state at the same time. We can and should do the same thing, but in our way.

    But this explenation makes it almost sound like "enlightenment" is the pre-requisite for an OBE. In your first BIG Toe book, you said you merely did TM for a bit and were then able to have OBE. Also people who enter OBE from sleep paralysis don't seem to have all these pre-requisites. The process you describe makes complete sense, I just hoped it wouldn't be so difficult.

    When I was in my early 20s I had an obe but just before I closed my eyes 👀 my last thought was a fear of death, and found myself above myself looking down at my own body just long enough that when I seen myself I freaked out and was back. My question??? Is if you are to let go of fear/ego then how was I able to experience my obe? By the way it was 1980 when this happened 😁

    Hey, Tom. You say that whenever people get upset/angry, that's your ego. Even if you get upset/sad about all the suffering people are subject to in this often brutal VR? Is that ego, too? I wish I could just ignore it, or even "explain it away," like some do, thinking that this is just a dream so people aren't REALLY being hurt and are suffering so much. If these feelings are actually just ego, maybe I can somehow use that information to help me get past this. Thanks, Tom.

    • @twcjr44
      @twcjr44  6 років тому +15

      upset is ego, angry is ego, sad may or may not be ego. Love can sometimes be sad (awareness of other's suffering), but that sadness is never upset or angry -- love simply accepts that things and people are what and who they are and the dominate feeling is compassion.

    • @sngscratcher
      @sngscratcher 6 років тому +3

      Thanks, Tom. That would (hopefully will) be a nice place to be, the dominate feeling being compassion for others who are suffering harm rather than sadness. Something to look forward to.

    • @sngscratcher
      @sngscratcher 6 років тому +1

      So, Tom. How do you process the sadness you feel for all the suffering in the world? Is it simply accepting the fact that people are going to be brutalized in brutal VRs like this one? And that IUOCs know full well what they are in for when they agree to incarnate here? Or is it something else? And when is sadness ego?

    • @twcjr44
      @twcjr44  6 років тому +9

      One is in A (chat room -- initial untried, unchallenged, unactualized potential) and cannot get to C (kind and caring world -- one's potential is fully actualized) without going through B (fearful and self centered -- figuring out by trial and error how to actualize one's potential). You may object: why do we need to go through B? . why can't we just go directly to C?. Trying to go directly to C would either result in C becoming the same as staying in A, or result in C becoming the same as B. We are, as a species, struggling in B and have been for a long while. There is no faster or easier way, we have to change ourselves, earn our way by the quality of our choices, grow up to be able to create C. You are 10 years old and really want to be 25, have a good job, pretty girlfriend, and drive a fast car like your big brother... but there is no faster or easier way get there other than through a slow and agonizing maturation process over the next 15 years. We will one day get to C. But first we must work our way through B. Accept it. It is a necessary process. Getting upset and angry because others are not progressing as fast as you want them to is ego...as is demanding that they grow up faster and then being annoyed that they don't. "I am more grown up so everybody else should be too" is more ego. The situation in B is indeed sad and deserving of your compassion. It is not yours to fix, you can only fix yourself, which makes it easier for everyone else to fix themselves. Dwelling on the dysfunction, complaining, getting upset and angry becomes part of the problem (ego), not part of the solution.

    • @sngscratcher
      @sngscratcher 6 років тому +4

      Thanks for your response, Tom, but I think you missed the point of my question. I completely understand the process, and have understood it for quite some time now. I'm not even angry at the individuals who harm other people or want them to "pay" for what they've done. I'm more interested in how you process and accept the sadness of it all. The best I've come up with so far is that "we knew what we were signing up for" when we decided to enter this brutal VR (or did we)? And my life has been relatively safe and peaceful compared to what others are going through at this time, say in Aleppo, for example. Then again, if we've all lived numerous lifetimes, then we've probably found ourselves in these sorts of horrific situations more often than not.
      The one thing you said that does resonate with me is your two word sentence: "Accept it." Accept all the brutality, fear and suffering as a necessary part of the process of collectively growing up. But how exactly do we do that? I thought you might have some suggestions, since you are so much farther along in the process than are most of us. Maybe it's something we all have to figure out on our own? I recall that Eckhart Tolle (and one or two other "spiritual" teachers) have talked about this issue. I should probably go back and see what they have to say.
      Anyway, thanks, Tom. And congratulations on reaching your kickstarter goal (and beyond). Can't wait to see how things turn out! Cheers.

    If we can see and hear the world around us in an OOBE then can you also experience smell and touch? It makes no sense to me to receive some sensory data and not another. I gather that I were to 'see' something in a OOBE it's based on the data stream "what my eyes would see if they were in this space at this time". Presumably, then, if I were blind I wouldn't 'see' anything in an OOBE.

    I used to lucid dream every single night back in my early twenties. One night I was doing what I usually did, which was flying, and when I landed I saw a star above my head. That star descends to the ground and turns into one of those little garden gnomes, replete with blue suit and red cap! The little dude looked up at me and said "You're not supposed to be doing this". Well rather than ask me why, I just slapped him across the face and then took off flying again. I guess I really wasn't supposed to be doing that because after that night the lucid dreams all but stopped. Every now and then I'd realize I was dreaming but would wake shortly after. I never got the control that I had back. No materializing whatever I wanted and no more flying. Bummer, but I guess whatever the gnome was, part of myself or some entity come to stop the talking monkey from having too much fun, he was correct. I'm going start with the oobe techniques and see if I can locate the gnome and ask him why I wasn't supposed to lucid dream as I was.
    Also, is there no such thing as righteous anger? If I see someone kicking a dog and I get angry at that person, is that not at all justified? Yeah I could go deeper and pity the person kicking the dog because obviously they themselves have some pain that's driving them to do that, but if I want them to stop kicking the dog immediately, is an impromptu therapy session going to work at all, or is giving them a few swift kicks of my own going to stop it? Then we can talk about why they were harming the animal. There are endless scenarios where anger, at least to me, seems appropriate as it will spur me to action and may allow for the correction of injustice. Yes, I'm aware everything is perfect and as it should be, but that doesn't mean we sit around while the world burns. Simulation it may be, but it can cause real pain and I'd like to stop as much pain of others as I can, even if it means causing pain to the one that is causing the pain of another.

      @AA-zq1sx Рік тому

      As Tom has explained countless times, being a simulated reality does not make it any less "real." EVERY possible reality is virtual in the sense that the only fundamental thing is information and consciousness, and we can't experience anything at all unless there is a simulation of some kind being data-streamed to our consciousness - whether it's our physical VR, the dream-space VR, the transition/after-death VR, etc.
      As far as righteous anger, well, the answer is do whatever you need to do to stop harm to the dog/victim- the anger itself isn't needed or helpful. YOU get angry. YOUR blood pressure goes up. YOU feel bad. YOU can't think straight because your blood is boiling. How does any of this help the dog?? It doesn't. You can remove the dog from the abuser, you can call the authorities, you can step between the abuser and the dog - there's countless things you could do depending on the specific context of the situation, but feeling angry or acting angry isn't helpful in any of them. If you scream at the abuser or beat up the abuser, it's not going to make them more calm and compassionate, is it?

Sorry I wasted my time with obviously somebody that does not understand the Default name he or she is using! For future discussion, just try to think of a hypothesis of what, how or why the double slit is so very important, aspect's & the true nature of the outcome & what does it all mean! Just my 2 cent's! I would be happy to see your Thesis on the data, anytime! Not trying to debate you just wondered if you knew!

    Dr Campbell, I'm so scared of death! Should I be afraid of it based on your theory? Thanks

      Tom's theory is one where consciousness is fundamental. We are consciousness and not the body we occupy, so in essence, there is no death, you go on, albeit as another avatar.

      MBTEVENTS so we never die? We keep
      Living in a different body? Billions of people that once were alive on earth form
      Previous generations are living now? Or they were illusions from our minds? It's confusing!

      Death is an illusion, you will wake up in a different virtual reality and if needed, be guided. There is nothing to worry about, you are essentially immortal and you should live every moment as best you can

      It will be like waking up from a dream... you will find yourself in a new reality frame and take things from there.
      When your player gets killed in video game that you were immersed in, you snap back to this reality and move on, so it's kind of like that.

      With remote viewing. You are only sending your "astral eyes" or just using your vision, with an OBE, you are actually there. All your senses, rather than just sight
