Great video and great review of motorcycles! I was test riding 500 since they didn't have 1100 DCT at dealership here in US and... I ordered 1100 DCT at the end of last year. It's a dream bike a bit heavier than 500 but you described it perfectly. After 30 years of not riding I am back on the road with my Rebel 1100 DCT and it feels damn good! Thanks again for a beautiful, interesting and informative film.
I just took ownership of my CMX500 earlier this month, partly based on your earlier review. I am not a new rider, but wanted to downsize and try something a bit more enjoyable to ride. Finding them new in the UK is like finding hens teeth and I ended up getting mine in North Yorkshire and riding it home to Scotland. Not being a big fan of naked bikes I fitted a screen before leaving the dealership. It's a fun bike and I really enjoy riding it. Much more than I did my previous bike (BMW). Very interested in the Wheels and Waves meet-up you discussed here. Great review and I absolutely love the ease with which you can mod the 500 and 1100 Rebels. I will be getting the colour changed on mine soon. One reason I did not go for an 1100 was, as well as it being damned difficult to find, the fuel consumption - which can 't hold a candle to the consumption on the 500.
Great review of the Wheels & Waves show, I saw your ABR Festival review and enjoyed that too , you should do more event/show reviews as they make interesting viewing, on the Honda Rebel side, my vote for best custom Rebel would have to go to Guy Willison's 5 Four Flat Tracker.
No 500s or 1100s available to demo at local dealers. Possible just to order for delivery in February (7 months away). They need to fix the logistics first..
Oh wow, how cool. Here in Au I dont know any surfers into road bikes or bikers into surf. Not saying there aren't any but definitely not enough to make a festival around the theme.
They are both great bikes, really depends on what your needs are and how much you want to spend. I'd choose the 1100, but thats because I'd like it with the DCT

Thanks Tomec, enjoy the bike!

I bought the 500 brand new last year . I regret it. Now I will buy the 1100 manual Great great bike. The riding position is excellent for my style.

Looked awesome event 👌 can’t wait to head off into Europe in 2 weeks 😁
Have fun!
I was beginning to get worried it was only a wheels and waves video.
Great that you got a trip away
It was!
Tough gig but somebody’s got to do it I guess 😉
yep ;)
Brilliant video as per!! Didn’t realise how involved wheels and waves was!! What jacket are you wearing? 🤙
Cheers, the jacket is the Halvarssons Naren
Cool video, enjoyed that
Thanks 👍
well that was bit of a treat...thanks
Also I have the CB500x really nice bike but hard to get back on after the CMx1100.
No problem, and yes I can see why
Looks like a wonderful part of the world to ride, Tony. If you fancy a riding companion next time you go........... nudge, nudge, wink, wink 😉
Ha, i'll let you know....
hi i am wondering how much would it cost to get something like rebel 500 motoveiga ??

Maybe theres a seed there?!.....
Both are super handsome bikes! I am having a hard time to pick between 500 and 1100. My height is 5’6” and 148lbs.
They are indeed, I prefer the 1100 to ride, but then i'm a taller and much heavier! lol
Thinking about getting the 500, do you recommend it or should I save a bit more and go for the 1100?

Does rebel 1100 engine make high vibration?
No not at all
Thanks
