I'm a straight man that has long hair, a somewhat feminine build and a higher pitched voice at times. People will often tell me that I look or sound like a woman. I usually get looks from both men and women, and I have a flamboyant personality. I've recently started accepting my androgyny as I can't "turn it off" and "be more manly" in the traditional sense. So I started looking at people like Prince and Jared Leto for inspiration on how to push the boundaries of my masculinity by embracing my natural fem side. I'm like the exact reverse of a tomboy or something.
Being an androgynous personality with empathetic traits. Definitely get people who get confused and don't know what to think of me or how how to react to me.
Im tomboy and i have had alot of gay men are attracted to me 😂😂 but they have said that they are happy that im bi, because usually they dont know how to approach tomboys because usually tomboys like only women.
im hijabi.. with posture totally a woman. but when im take off my hijab lot of friend and family told im look like a boy .. than a woman with my face . im chubby but since kids i like do men works that a girly things . at my teen before im wearing hijab, some people call me bro or boy even that time i have long hair
I'm not androgynous. Well,i'm gay and i like female outfits but...i don't consider myself as an andro guy. However i understand androgyny. People always think i'm a girl because of my face ¬¬
I'd really love to lean into this a lot more, and this video really helped me. Thank you. PS. You should definitely be a University lecturer, I could listen to you all day
I really like this. I am a guy, that just prefers so called feminine styles, and at times can look quite feminine, though NOT fully. I don't wear padding for breasts or hips, as that is not my goal. I wish there were more fellows out there with my view on these matters, and did not feel a need to "pass" as women. I so wish there was more a push to expand the definition of what is considered "masculine" and "feminine" styles and characteristics. I will say my style is extreme when it comes to makeup, this is due to my preference and association with the Goth Subculture.
Pleasure :) When I found out the history, it just made sense for me to share it. Especially seeing as though we need to constantly continue educating the masses. Good luck with your dissertation :)
I have characteristics about myself that touch directly on this. I am very soft featured face, even with a beard. I also have a very muscular, but curve body.
That's my passion and drive about androgyny. I am a curvy black autistic glamorous androgynous chick and I embraced it. I was a girly girl growing up all my life
Jayden Smith, i can't take seriously, because he said, "if they were paying you $10,000, you'd be gay too." Made me think he was saying he was molested like a lot of children are that work for the media, or he is just play-gay-for pay. I'm not even part of that community, but have seen so many fight for decades, for it to seem like a Trend or fad for some.
I love your video and I think that you are a very intelligent person but I just wanted to say a little thing! in the symposium, Aristophanes was actually a comedian character who was discussing the circular theory satirically- it was not meant to be taken literally. the symposium was basically just contemplation of love and what love is in itself, and Aristophanes was more or less a shit disturber who was making a stab at the absurdity of love. everything else you said is very beautiful and true though !
Totally agree 😃 I always considered myself as androgynous when I was a young adult. It's not something I dwell on all the time it just is what it is. I'm straight. I never really understood why androgyny is LGTBQ as it's characteristics, except if you identify as LGBTQ. There are a lot of straight androgynous people out there too.
I never thought of myself like that until my friends boyfriend said i looked androgynous... I'm actually flatter... Will look more into this... I'm bisexual by the way
I love androgyny. I find it so attractive and would love to be as androgynous as possible but I'm not sure if i pull it off (my insta is @smol_jess if you want to make your opinion on my androgynous-ness) great video i learnt a lot!

Every Male and female has both characteristics... we have been told this time immemorial
However, not at extreme levels like us Androgynes.

I just added u As one of my faves.
I remember you on yi tv
Jaden was born female and Willow was born male. The same with their parents. Because they love the androgynous god named Lucifer.
Chiiiiile, you better talk about Annie Lennox and Prince when you talk about androgyny.
Gorgeous 😍
gender orientation and expression/ identity are 2 unrelated things being androgynous doesn't make you gay
Isn't that what she's saying, and yeah I agree w u
Bro cooked homophobic 7 years ago 😭
