'And here's a plate' was an interesting and surreal moment in this video. The things you come upon when walking. I would plan in a day of rest, but your pace is faster and I guess that makes it doable in one go. Very much enjoying following your journey.
Thanks for your thoughts, I think it was one of my main learnings from this walk, the need to try and plan in a rest at some point. Choosing a place/point of interest rather than a specific moment in time. Glad you're enjoying the journey.
'Time' should not be the prime mover. I believe that fully absorbing the experience is far more important. And, if that means extending the experience for a day or two, so be it. Listen to your inner self. Do not allow outside pressures to deviate you 😊👍
hiya, thanks for uploading your fun and interesting hikingtips&tricks! I'm planning to walk Offa's Dyke path in June. In this clip you say you took water from a stream. i thought that wouldnt be safe to drink. how did your purify?
Good question Tanja and it is one that I am asked quite often on different videos. Therefore, I decided to do an actual video on the subject, ua-cam.com/video/GUKvN-b8Cr0/v-deo.html. But to answer the question directly, if no other option for water, use a fast flowing stream, the smaller the better, then use a filter and if possible save that water for cooking, so that you boil it before using. With practise and experience you will begin to recognise the best options available to you. The filter I use is KATADYN, but there are many options on the market. Hope you have a great adventure and feel free to come back with more questions if you have any other queries. Cheers, Nigel

A field with giant satellite dishes was odd enough, then "oh, heres a plate" just made me laugh 😂

Thanks for sharing 'Kingsday in the Netherlands' Tanja, really loved that! Enjoy the summer, sounds like an epic plan!
Looking forward to it! just found your channel and its fun and helpful, to see someone my age do that in stead of 30yo hiking PCT. So thanks a lot!
Glad your enjoying the channel and.... I have no plans for the PCT :)
