i (almost) did it as a teenager (S to N) but got really bad food poisoning from Llangollen Youth Hostel...after 3 days laid up in a tent I retreated home. 40+ years later it is still on my list of things to finish!
Cows are much the same anywhere, these were ok, you try to keep a low profile and look uninteresting, but the way I deal with them is if they group and follow you too actively be prepared to turn and face them and scare them off. It’s a good walk, nice having the theme of the Dyke to follow.
Yes that was a point I was making. Also I highly recommend Hadrians Wall Path that goes across coast to coast with much of it on or next the the remaining Wall . Plenty to interest history buffs , easy walking , very well served by bus service so brilliant for walking in stages , plenty of affordable accommodation. It’s one of my favourite Long Distance Footpaths

There's more cows on the Dyke than any other trail in Britain! Not a trail for the cow ards! Nice video/pictures enjoyed it thanks 👍🍺😎
