Makes me remember the times where the only thing that would get me through flare ups and not being able to move properly from the waist down due to severe nerve damage...is deep breathing techniques,slowly rocking from front to back and almost getting into a trance like state... obviously I didn't realise what or why it helped but it just very gradually...after hours of doing it,took the edge off as I didn't feel like i could do anything else. Obviously everyone feels pain differently...random note,sorry! But this video just made me realise...maybe that's what helped so much and did yesterday when I felt like I was being literally burnt from the inside out from medication I'm on,that causes fermalahyde to be produced more in the stomach. When you have nerve pain from medical negligence and it's not being taken seriously or treated...you will find your own way to ease the suffering.
cheo ole I’m in the same boat as you my friend. Healthcare professionals suffer from compassion fatigue but blame the patient for THIER pain! Ugh. It’s frustrating but hope deters the frustration. Keep hope alive ! That’s a great way to cope!

“Pain is NOT Suffering” is a well known idiom amongst spiritual/Buddhist practitioners.
“Pain” is a neural stimulus, nothing more. Suffering is a Subjective, mental/emotional phenomenon, a mental/emotional response to “contact” in the links, or Nidanas of Psychological, as well as life Cycles.

I like these sort of videos, but I dislike the use of the word " mindfulness " meditation - it's ZEN meditation, which only involves paying attention to you breath. Sounds simple, but it's incredibly difficult to do.
John M zen meditation is not paying attention to breath. That is vipassana. Zen style is open awareness

Pain is a distraction from the source of suffering. That source is your mind. The healing from pain then becomes to see only you in other people, that others you see are not separated from your mind because the body doesn’t exist at all. The healing is oneness thoughts not separation thoughts. Ultimately coming to the thought you were never separated from your source of being, that it is within you and you within it.
You have to seek the answer to your own aversion from looking at your mind, the thoughts in your mind. The brain is nothing. The body is nothing. Nothing does not exist. They’re just vibrating electron particles and the frequency of their vibration manifests specific physical objects/phenomena.
Good luck with that theory and practice and convincing others.

There are buddhist monks who have lit themeselves on fire and not moved a muscle. It is extremely hard but it is possible to control pain.

Pain is temporary and can be controlled. Suffering is long term and may be not be necessarily controllable by the person/people experiencing it.
So 4 days of incessant +10 migraine pain - like someone buried an axe in your head accompanied by vomiting isn't suffering?
Chronic pain=not temporary. Suffering=only as you allow yourself to mind the pain.
"Pain is not suffering" is a lie, not a buddhist. Pain is one sort of suffering. I feel that. Many people feel that. Pain is an umbrella term of grief, lamentation, body ache and others.
