A *Painful Back* can come on suddenly, acute onset. The mechanism, or cause, may be attributed to a specific movement or trauma. The underlying cause of back pain has a more progressive onset. This is related to the practice of poor habits: poor diet and obesity; improper work habits like sitting postures or lifting technique; and the way stressful events are perceived and how one responds.
Regaining a healthy back does not mean that you will live this moment forward with no pain at all. *"Once a Back Patient, Always a Back Patient", I say(Bauer Physical Therapy .
There must be attention given to the habits you practice on a daily basis.
There must be commitment to daily practice of exercise/movement.
There must be a shift in how stress is managed, and the message of body fatigue.
There must be an action of mindfulness, as Kelly McGonigal explains in this video.
*Mindfulness of the Body-Mind Connection* must be included as a part of every back rehabilitation program, and more proactively, as part of Ones' *Own Pursuit of Health and Well-Being*.

When monks set themselves on fire and they appear not to feel it, are they cheating using drugs etc? Or can mindfulness make agony easy?
