  • In this adventure I go and explore a location that I explored many times as a child. When I was young I would ride my dirt bike to this place after school and I honestly think it might be the location that got me interested in history and abandoned places. This is an abandoned resort that the natives started as a business but didn't last for more than a couple of years. Im not sure exactly why this resort was not successful but I have been told a couple of different stories. All I know is that BC is always full of strange stories of business ventures left to be claimed by the elements after failure.

    Long log, may have been for a saddle.
    Btw, love watching your adventures, just found your channel, many place I've been close to, but didn't know of the secrets you're finding in BC. I was thinking it looked like a place to mount water faucets and the hole in the shelf was for a sink. Now I wonder if it started as a place to hold a saddle but was converted to a sink later?

    Those holes in the ice are caused by underwater springs..thats why there is clear ice around them...

    So obviously that was a foot of snow "Canadian"😄 (6" inches American Right?) Or you would not be driving across a snowy field with that awesome GM 👍🇺🇸
    Thanks for the entertainment.🤠

      Shawn Hampshirehick in Canada, we use the phrase “foot of snow” to denote an amount of snow that is somewhere between a “dusting” and a “dump”. Lol

    Rewatching all your videos. In the cabin with the extending log…..I’m guessing that there was a washstand in the hole built next to it - and the pole was for hanging towels and washing Just a guess

    Some of these old camps for tourist would have platforms for the wall tents to sit on. Billy

  • @MaxZomboni
    @MaxZomboni 7 років тому +3

    11:35 That's the service drop line for the cabin. When the power was disconnected, it looks like they just rolled up the wire and left it hanging on the poll. I'm sure it's also disconnected on the other end at the main poll. I suppose that it is also possible that the electric lines were run out there, but the power was never connected. But I think that would be pretty unlikely. That would have cost a lot of money for nothing.

      @HowToElecrtrician Рік тому +2

      thats 3 phase power though, unless that cabin wss a grow show seems unlikely lol

    The outside table is a sink and the log is longer for a water bucket or hose hanger. Something hung on it for the sink. Id say WW2 era or later. The flooring would give a better era. Linoleum developed in stages. To guess, started in the 30s and was added on.

  • @RavenRidgeRanch
    @RavenRidgeRanch 4 роки тому +1

    Nice videos, I really enjoy them, Thanks. I think the log was longer to hang a drying towel on since it was next to the outdoor sink. That’s my two cents… Thanks for the adventures

    If you had gotten stuck, at least you could have built a fire. And, you did have a cot you could have slept on. You did find some tea cups, so it wouldn't have been that bad. It could have been worse. But, you didn't get stuck. Oh well, maybe next time. Hey that would be a neat adventure. Dustin getting stuck adventure.

    Quick question how deep is the water at the resort,,, one that was frozen appeared to be a whirlpool... so Dustin u think the longer pole on side o1f the house was a utility kinda pole for hanging wet shoes ur gloves or essentials???
