Iron John changed my life and helped me become a man from a boy.
To learn that what i needed in adult life as a man was to find masculine wisdom from men, and that we all are, internally, masculine and feminine. Thank you so much Robert. Since i read Iron John i have recommended it to many men and to female partners who we looking for something to help their "boy men".
Thank you
My head hurts so must listen to this I have no idea where to start to unpack this on a personal level
Hell ya that means you're awake. Steps above the rest dont lose sight.
Beautiful, powerful, deep, suiting, storytelling music.👍
So many stories. I watched/listened to a some stories from Greek mythology. Zeus, Heracles, Theseus. Also Gilgamesh. Powerful stories. Our dragons and demons lie within. Beowulf, Cuculain. This has me thinking about the Thirteenth Warrior. Watched it many years ago. Tonight seems like a good night to watch it again.
Im so happy this book is available
Yes yes. Please keep posting. And thank you, kindly.
This is the best version of the book. The other uploads online are of gatherings, which diverge from the text and is hard to listen to

Can anyone explain who the wandering explorer is?
@apothecaryixii The one from the beginning? I think that person represents order that comes into a new kingdom which has chaos, the forest that no thing will go in, and shows what the kingdom is lacking, one who will go into the unknown and see what happens. I think that character foreshadows who the prince of the story will ultimately work to become later. The rest of the story is how you get to be like that wandering explorer.
the wandering explorer is the wandering explorer. The spirit that seeks out danger and adventure and drives man to do reckless, brave, silly and important things.
The wandering explorer is The Fool, having completed his journey, be it the Hero's Journey, or the Fool's Journey.

The ad interjections really diminish the listening experience.
Who owns this channel, what gave them the right to run ads on this upload, how much money is being made from it, and who is getting it? There should be transparency on the topic, especially for uploads like this that parasitise other people’s work.
I posted the video, so I guess I own the channel? Anyway, good questions...This is the only thing I have ever put on youtube and I have no idea about monetization. I can tell you I have received no money for these videos, and certainly don't want any money for them, nor do I think I am entitled to any money. I remember looking into this a while back to make sure that I wasn't set for monetization, and at the time I didn't even qualify. I think maybe the ads are put in by Google and Google makes the profit?
So what's my motivation? This talk was enormously helpful for me as a young man in my 20s when it came out. Probably saved my life, or least saved me from a life of addiction and despair. There is no way to buy this commercially anymore. I had held onto the cassette tapes for over thirty years. If they were available for commercial purchase I would never have put this here. Anyway, I hope that answers your questions of transparency on my end, but if not please ask away. Honest question: do you think on balance it would be better to take it down, or let google profit off it? And if you do know of a way to get rid of the adds please let me know. But honestly it was done to share Bly's message and nothing more.
Brilliant. Grateful. +++

This certainly is gold, but there seem to be parts missing. Do you have them or know where we might find them?
Hey Andres, did you see all four separate videos, each part one side of the book on tape?
@@bradyp69 Got it. The book itself is 300 pages, so these recordings must be an abridged version of the book, right?
@@andres-ku6um the complete version is available on Audible but sadly Bly is not the narrator
From 45:37 is mute, is that intended?
It was an editing mistake on my part, I should have trimmed the video. The tape ends at that point. Side 2 of the tape begins with part 2 of the videos.
