Thanks so much for this! I've had mine also for a couple of decades, and hadn't changed the blade in ages, so I had totally forgotten how to change the blade. Your description was perfect and very clear - thanks again!
I realized today that I've had my Ryobi saw for multiple decades just like you, the old blue ones. I could not figure out how to get the blade out. One of the teeth was chipped and gone so I definitely needed to change it. I saw your video and as soon as you exposed the small blade nut cover I was Off to the Races. Thank you for what you have shown me and hopefully others. I am definitely going to check out your channel and see what other great information you have.
Thanks. I actually had just changed the blade but had removed the blade-guard assembly and then couldn't figure out how to put it back on. Your video reminded me of a key step I'd forgotten.
Your video is excellent, very clear and simple guidance. It gave me the confidence to finally change the blade after well over a decade. The manual was not very clear. And the illustrations only add to the confusion. Yes, I still have the manual. Ryobi should pay you for doing this video.
Thanks so much for posting this! I have the exact same saw I haven’t used for a few years and forgot how to get the plastic blade guard out of the way. Thanks to your video I was able to find which screw to remove.
Thank you very much for your amazing instruction video. This is my first time doing this and your video made me feel comfortable enough to know I can do this!!! Greatly appreciate you. Thanks!!!!
Are you saying that my videos put you to sleep? In that case I recommend watching one every night before you go to sleep :-) Seriously, though I am glad it was helpful!
I purchased my TS1340 in 2003 or 2004 for cutting laminate flooring and have rarely used it since because I've been using portable saws. It still has the original saw blade that literally burns its way thew the cuts. A sliding miter would be nice but the cost of replacing the blade on a rarely used saw makes more sense. I don't know why, but I had to remove guard link bolt at the base to fully rotate the guard after removing the small screw you mentioned. Go Figure... But a very helpful video. Thanks!
Thank u for this step by step tutorial, I am starting out with my power tools and feel very intimidated by things like this. I got a table saw for Christmas and yet have to learn to work with it and nervous to do so. Do u have a tutorial for that?
Sure do. Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/VdO_CZvF8NE/v-deo.html This video shows you the basic parts of a table saw, shows how to make basic cuts, and also introduces you to some safety principles when working with a table saw. Table saws are great tools. They (and all power tools} should be respected, but with proper practices they can be used safely. Review the safety tips in your owners manual. There are other really good you tube channels that will help you out. A couple of the top of my head are Steve Ramsey and Stumpy Nubs. Good luck!
Lol I was so upset with Ryobi, I’ve had this 10” Ryobi that’s only a few years old and I’ve never replaced the blade because I haven’t really needed to till more recently tear out is awful so I picked up the wrong size but a Diablo and thought Ryobi majorly screwed up because on my saw it doesn’t say which screw to unscrew bc to me it looked like the opening was installed wrong but your video saved me from dumping this thing. I have the dual bevel cruzer on the from Amazon if they’d just send it but anyways I still need this old one
I suppose so, but I have never had that problem to my knowledge. If its something you worry about, check it every so often. Has this ever happened to anyone on this thread?
Hey there, I have an older ryobi that’s a similar model I picked up from the neighbors down the street, not sure what he was doing with it but the washer and bolt are quite rusty, got the blade of but can’t get it back on, any suggestions?
I had my TS1340 on a shelf in my shed, shelf gave way, now I need to replace the blade guard which cracked beyound repair. Not sure how to since I have not used it in years. Can you (or any one reading this) give me some pointers on how to replace the guard? Thanks in advance.
I have never re placed the guard. However, I went out and looked at my saw and it looks like you would start just as you would with replacing the blade. Do you have the replacement piece?
Well, I finally removed the washer and the blade by beating the blade from behind with a rubber hammer. Thanks for your help Sir, very appreciated@@HomestyleWoodCrafts
Honestly I don't know. I went through the owners manual and it didn't specifically address 7 inch blades. Since it is a 10 inch blade saw, for safety sake I would stick with 10 inch blades.
I messed up and took the entire blade guard, the black arm and the yellow plastic guard off and now I'm losing my patience trying to get that dang spring back in place to put the guard back on. With the use of curse words.
Thanks so much for this! I've had mine also for a couple of decades, and hadn't changed the blade in ages, so I had totally forgotten how to change the blade. Your description was perfect and very clear - thanks again!
We’ve had this same saw for more than a decade and a half. This video was so helpful since the owner’s manual is who knows where. Thank you!
I am so glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for a thorough yet quick video
I am glad it was informative!
This video helped more than the bloody manual!!! Thanks for posting the step by step guide!!!
I'm glad it was useful. Thanks for watching!

Thanks mate. Have a similar model, slightly different but same idea. Lost the manual years ago. Worked it out thanks to your help.

Thank you!!!! I did it! It may have taken all of my strength to get the old blade loosened but, I did it!!

Unfortunately my blade stop doesn't work. Keeps turning once I put enough pressure on the bolt. Even tried shaking bolt off
Thanks so much! Going to change the blade now. 😄
Good luck!
Put a plywood blade on mine in ‘09 and couldn’t remember how to get it off lol. Thanks for the great video.

Thank you for this. I dug out the same model saw from my dads garage and put on the first blade with your help. Time to start cutting!

Ahh.. Push up on the guard bar must be it. Just rotating the guard dosen't work. Also I had no idea there was a blade lock by the handle.
I am glad you found the video helpful. A sliding miter saw would be nice!
How is the saw working with the new blade?
Thank you. I picked one of these up for 5 bucks and couldnt figure for the life of me how to get to the blade bolt
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome!
Thank you!
You are welcome. Stop by again sometime!

“With as little rhyming as possible”. I vote for even MORE rhyming!
Well, I don't know when I will ever rhyme, but you never know, it could happens sometime! :-)
Is any possibility that the blade bolt could work loose due to vibration?
If so how often does the bolt need to be checked/retensioned?
I suppose so, but I have never had that problem to my knowledge. If its something you worry about, check it every so often. Has this ever happened to anyone on this thread?
Hey there, I have an older ryobi that’s a similar model I picked up from the neighbors down the street, not sure what he was doing with it but the washer and bolt are quite rusty, got the blade of but can’t get it back on, any suggestions?
Afraid not. I haven't had to deal with that problem. Good luck!
Thanks so much. I have to same saw.
Thanks for watching!
good job
Thank you and thank you for watching!
I popped the guard off and the spring came outta mine a couple weeks ago. Any idea on how to get the spring back in?
No idea. Good luck!
Great 👍🏼
Thank you 👍

In case you didn't catch it, THE BLADE BOLT IS REVERSE THREAD. Loosen clockwise, tighten counterclockwise.
Thank you!
5:13 I removed the screw but cannot remove the washer, it looks stuck on the blade. What could be the issue? Many thanks,
Not sure. I have never seen that happen. Maybe a combination of high pressure and some workshop grime? Have you tried a bit of WD40 to loosen it up?
Well, I finally removed the washer and the blade by beating the blade from behind with a rubber hammer. Thanks for your help Sir, very appreciated@@HomestyleWoodCrafts
I have the same miter saw, can I put an 7in blade on it and will work the same as an 14in blade
Honestly I don't know. I went through the owners manual and it didn't specifically address 7 inch blades. Since it is a 10 inch blade saw, for safety sake I would stick with 10 inch blades.
I have a ryobi ts1350 miter saw and the manual specifically states that you cannot put anything but a 10-inch blade on it.
Does it help catch Bass?
Well so far, no. It hasn't helped me catch any bass. Let me know if you have any luck!
I messed up and took the entire blade guard, the black arm and the yellow plastic guard off and now I'm losing my patience trying to get that dang spring back in place to put the guard back on. With the use of curse words.
Sorry to hear it. Did you get it back on?
This side i understand; it's the opposite side I don't understand.
Not sure what you mean by "this side" and the "opposite side". Can you clarify?
@@HomestyleWoodCrafts the other side of the blade.
great information but to much talking, could have finished video in half the time, I had to speed through it...
Appreciate the honest feed back and thanks for watching!
What happened to the laser?
Mine never had a laser.
3 mins in, and nothing has happened. Speed it up.
Thanks for the feedback.
