Where is the likely failure if the thumb knob and key won't engage the lock? It turns and stops, but the door won't lock. I am lifting the handle when trying.
The first thing we would recommend is try to operate the lock with the door opened. If it locks fine with the door open, it means the door needs to be adjusted. The locks have to completely throw in order for the lock to be able to roll over into the lock position.
If that doesn't work, it likely means that we'll need to get a service team out to take a look at it. More than happy to help with that as well!

Is $754 the correct price to replace this door handle? It seems terribly high. If so are there other handles for this door that are less expensive.

Sure! If your local Pella branch can pull up the Service Parts catalog, the Architect Series In-Swing Patio Door handle sets can be found on page 20. From there they can find the right finish, either right hinge or left hinge parts, and active or inactive panels.
I have a 60 inch wide French Pella patio door, I can't get the lock sistem to work, iam in Reading Pennsylvania 19601, I need Pella to come fix my door lock please. Thank you

My Pella Single Swing Patio Door stopped opening a few months ago. It locks and unlocks, but when the handle rotates to open the door, the latch doesn't move. I have removed everything like what is shown in this video and I cannot get to the latch to move it to open the door. Any suggestions, special tool to hook the latch like the old credit card trick?
You will need a new multipoint lock to replace that one. The latch mechanism is broken. The easiest way to get the door open is to use an oscillating tool with caribe blade. Then, cut a notch in the latch. Doesn’t need to be really deep just enough to get a 5n1 in or a stiff putty knife. This will give you enough grip to push latch into mechanism to open door. From there it’s just replacing old multipoint with new!

My mom has the same door handle. The inside door handle has come off. There is no set screw. How does she fix this?
Well, our first recommendation at this point is to get in touch with your local Pella showroom. We should be able to handle (pun intended) the issue on our side. But, if you'd like to service it yourself, it is possible for you to repair a handle repair kit from Pella. It will come with all the clips and bushings needed to fix the handle set.
My handle is really wobbly, how do I fix that?
Ooh, good question! Best bet is to get a Pella technician to work through it so as to not damage anything further. What part of the country are you in?
